I always wanted to try Cheddars since I was in college in VA. But I never lived close to one. I am so happy I finally got to try it out. The ambiance was nice. It was clean and pretty quiet for a Saturday. The decor wasn't too fancy but it was nice. The service was good. The hostess was very friendly and showed us to our table. Our waitress was very nice, and attentive. The food was decent. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries which were very tender and flavorful. My friend ordered the fish platter with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The fish was very light and filling. The mashed potatoes were decent but needed more flavor and the broccoli was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a good experience. I will probably be back and try some other items on the menu. Great food, nice spot. Restaurant was nice and inviting with plenty of seating. When you sit the first thing they bring you is their fresh honey butter croissants. These are fantastic and have to be house-made. They are so flaky and delicious! Our party of 3 sampled the trio appetizers with spinach dip, chicken tenders, and cheese bites. All were excellent! The chips light and crispy. The spinach dip was creamy. The cheese bites were great. The fried chicken tenders had an amazing light and crunchy coating. I'm picky with fried foods and this place is top notch. The battered foods don't feel greasy and have a great crunch. The homemade ranch and honey mustard dressings were a great accompaniment. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The sides were perfect. The chicken fried steak had that great crunchy coating. The steak would have been a little better if the meat had been pounded a little thinner, but was still okay. My friend had a Caesar salad that was too heavy on the dressing, so recommend you order your dressing on the side if you get a salad. The facilities were clean, but I did notice a few issues that needed attention. A broke stall lock and a tile falling off the wall. Our server was fantastic. There was plenty of parking out front. We've dined here a few times while running errands in Waldorf. The day and time of your visit plays a part in how busy it'll be. Pros: Nostalgic and has something for everyone Respectable price point Has happy hour drink options Servers have positive attitudes and good energy Cons: Could use some improvement in cleanliness of tables, cutlery and seating Can get crowded, loud and hectic Overall, I would dine here again. The honey butter croissants are my favorite and you receive them complimentary at the start of your meal. On the latest visit, our server forgot but when asked, she boxed a fresh order up to go. I appreciate her for acknowledging the oversight and immediately making it right. The non-alcoholic drinks have add in options but I've found the syrup to be overpowering and optional. Portion sizes are appropriate for the price point and I've been happy with my choices thus far. Sign up for their emails if you want to receive notices of any promotions they have as well as a birthday freebie. Subject to change so read the offer carefully. There is booth seating, a bar and they do have alcohol based drinks. This is a good spot if you want to grab and go, have a date night, group gathering and solo dining. However, for a Saturday lunch and as always, it's very delicious. The prices are always just right and you get a great selection for the price. It is a chain restaurant so the ambience is not much but we can at least watch the game in the bar area while you eat. My boyfriend and I were looking for a new restaurant to check out other than our usuals. He recommended Cheddar's and I was eager to try somewhere new. We had looked over their menu beforehand, and were impressed by the options and price points. The menu was similar to a Friday's or a Chilli's. We got there on a Friday night, and despite the parking lot being full, we were seated right away. I did notice that quite a bit of tables had yet to be cleared off, but that was probably the only drawback I'd have for them. Other than that, our server was great. She was personable and kind. She offered us recommendations and checked in frequently. We started with the complimentary croissants and those were so delicious and just what I needed because I had barely eaten all day, so needed something to munch on. They were sweet and buttery. I honestly could have been good off of those. For dinner, I had the pain killer as my drink and that is definitely strong, so one of those will suffice. I did the combo with ribs, grilled shrimp, and two sides. I had the sweet carrots and the broccoli cheese casserole. I thought the broccoli cheese casserole was ok. I know my waitress said it's pretty popular, but I guess because I already had rice on the plate, I really didn't need to get another side with rice. The ribs were a generous size and the BBQ sauce was just right. My boyfriend got the white fish with sweet corn, and he thoroughly enjoyed the meal. My overall experience was okay. The food was just as good as I remembered years ago! The service was pretty slow. I had to also ask to have my drink refilled several times. The food itself came out pretty fast which was good because we were ready to eat! The price is super reasonable. The restaurant parking lot was packed! Cheddars has effectively carved out their niche in the Brandywine neighborhood. They've been going strong 10+ years and I know why! There's a relaxed atmosphere & you get to chop it up with familiar faces. That plus heavy pours, bar food, homestyle meals, & handmade desserts at a GREAT VALUE are part of their recipe for success. Before 2020, I used to visit with my coworkers during lunchtime. One of the guys in our crew always ordered chicken tenders & fried shrimp. They deliver a perfect crunch every time. I typically order the bourbon salmon with sides. I also order the salmon family bundles when there's no time to cook for guests. This is the first time I have been to a Cheddar's outside of the one I went to back in Texas. I was meeting a friend for a quick drink and conversation. I wish I would have taken some pictures but I forgot. I wasn't really hungry but the waiter who was awesome said he would come a soup or salad for us since we had a couple of drinks. So besides those golden buttery sweet croissants that were complimentary and so damn good! I really wanted the loaded potato soup but because it had bacon in it I opted for the salad. Sals was fine but those croissants was the star of the show I tried the tiki drink I believe it was called and a watermelon drink which both were not good at all. My wife and I decided to go here on a Tuesday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. Our waiter came and brought us some honey butter croissants and water to start with. The croissants were delicious! My wife and I both ended up getting two huge margaritas for $6.99 each, which was an absolute steal! We thought maybe those were happy hour prices, but we found out those were the standard prices. For our entrées, we both ordered the chicken tenders and half rack of ribs combination. The combination also came with two side orders. I had red beans and rice and the seasoned green beans for my sides. This was a lot of food for only $21. The ribs were absolutely amazing, they were finger licking good. The chicken tenders might be some of the best chicken tenders I've had in my life. The red beans and rice was surprisingly better than I anticipated and I would definitely get them again. The seasoned green beans were a little bit more on the sweet side than on the savory side, which isn't my preference, but they weren't bad. For dessert, we decided to split the fried apple pie. This was just enough for two people and was an amazing dessert. Our waiter was very nice and super attentive. She constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed the entire evening. Then I got salmon of course with baked potato and broccoli. All was good and I had a to go box for sure. He ordered the steak and chicken tenders. I tasted both they were both flavorful. I called the manager on 12/2/2025 and spoke to the manager Don, who didn't know how it happened and didn't seem concerned at all. I will never return, but for all who do eat there, please be careful. While in the boondocks (aka-Brandywine) a girl has to eat. We live in a kitchen-less home so the restaurant Gods win every time. Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is inexpensive and delicious. My go-to, Chicken Fried Chicken, with gravy please! Sweet Tea is perfect! Now, I'll admit this is not fine dining by any mean's but for the price point it beats fast food that is dang near the same cost. Employees are nice, and ambiance is causal. The picture speaks for itself. Why does half of the pasta not have sauce touching it? That's a problem for me because how did you make the pasta if the Alfredo sauce is separate? Then I asked for additional Alfredo on the side and the cup is not even filled up a quarter of the way. Who's drunk Uncle cooked this mess in the dark?? Cheddars is going down. Second Chance. Last time I was here was four years ago... right after Covid. So, it can only get better, right? Place was packed on a cold rainy Friday evening. Lots of folks. Good sign. Our server Daisy, was bright and informed us of all the changes and improvements. The honey butter croissant (2?) were brought out with our waters. My guy said that they were good, cold but good He opted for the Bourbon glazed salmon with shrimp. He requested the 8oz size. I don't know if it was he didn't think it was. I went for the Bacon cheeseburger. The burger wasn't bad. Enormous tomato chunks (lol) but medium like I asked. I also swapped the fries for the house salad and got the appetizer tower of onion rings. They were delicious! Light crunchy and not greasy at all. The high note for me. Daisy was very attentive and checked on us often. Making sure we had everything and quick to provide service. This place is just okay as fine as a restaurant goes. The menu isn't vast or anything to write home about. There's a big bar area, a big dining area with a fish tank. All in all, the stars were for the VAST improvement from my previous experience. It definitely was better than before. If I were to visit again, I would probably go for apps and drinks. I had the thickest soup I have ever seen I couldn't even turn the container. It was extremely salty then I was given a salad with a mountain of cheese and three small chicken tenders. I stopped in with my sisters on Saturday evening for dinner. It was a party of 5, and despite the full parking lot, I was surprised that we didn't have to wait to be seated. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and accommodating to my tables needs. I have not been to this restaurant in years, and do not remember them having Croissants slathered in honey butter for the table. They were excellent, and a very unique bread option compared to what is typically offered at restaurants in my opinion. I ordered the Sirloin and tenders combo. The food was pretty good, my only complaint was how tough the green beans were. I could barely pierce them with my fork. However they did have great flavor. I give it a 4/5 stars. Cheddars is a spot where you come for the food... literally! This review is a 3/3.5 depending on the day and is based on the curbside to-go experience. This is the only way I can enjoy it. The portions are big and the food is good generally. The main downside is that sometimes the chicken breast on entrees is way too salty. I appreciate flavor but I'm not trying to raise my blood pressure either. The chicken tenders and honey butter croissants are constantly good. In the past, I encountered negatives when dining in (dirty silverware, inattentive service, etc.) hence why I only go for takeout. Many people still dine in, so if that's your preference you aren't alone. Curbside isn't perfect but I've seen general improvement in the time between arrival/check in and actually receiving the order.
