4.5 stars. I cannot overstate how friendly the staff here is. Very welcoming, very patient, very kind. Set a really great tone for my visit. There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. This restaurant pretty much has everything you would want to eat. They have seafood, wings, sandwiches, salads deserts and more. It is located in a little strip mall with ample parking available. The restaurant has a couple of tables with chairs that are available for dining, but they were mostly being used by those patrons that were waiting on their order. There is a television in the restaurant that you can watch while you wait/eat. It is recommend to call your order in. and I can see why, as I waited about 15 to 20 minutes for my order. Hey friends! My This is Seafood experience was 5/5 stars. I remember when combos meals were $12-$14. When I saw that their shrimp combo was $18 I was nervous. But I was fortunately surprised. For $18 the portions were plentiful and it came with a drink! Shrimp was seasoned well, large and fresh. I enjoyed my Arnold Palmer, they serve house-made lemonade and sweet tea. They had a steady flow of visitors while I was there and I understand why. I ordered one piece of Catfish with fries combo and a Shrimp Po Boy with two pieces of corn on the cob. My daughter said the catfish was "bussin" but the fries could use some seasoning. The shrimp po'boy was huge and delicious and the corn on the cob was easily the best corn on the cob I've had. This place used to be really great! It's been awhile since I've had their food and today I purchased fried shrimp and French fries, and vegetable rolls. I wasted my money tonight and I will not be back. The shrimp were VERY TOUGH which was so weird. I ate maybe 2, and a few others I bit into but tossed aside. This can't be real shrimp! I went with a shrimp boil with 15 shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob (I added one extra), sausage, and 2 boiled eggs in garlic butter sauce. The sauce was pretty tasty & flavorful, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. I also decided to try the shrimp fried rice (I aded 1 egg) since it was highlighted in a few of the reviews, and it too was good, had a nice amount of shrimp, and taste fresh as mentioned in previous reviews. I ordered a seafood boil from here and it was terrible compared to other places. The seafood itself was not so bad the taste of it , but the look was very disappointing.
