My wife and I went to this location on a Sunday after not having gone to a Famous Dave's in years. It wasn't too many people here which was great for us seeing as though every restaurant is usually packed on Sundays. Our waiter was very nice and super attentive despite her waiting numerous tables including a big party. I ordered the Baby Back N Meat combo and decided to get the Texas Beef Brisket to go with my Baby Back Ribs. I also ordered double fries for my two sides. My wife ordered the Big Baby, Full Rack Baby Back Ribs and ordered mac and cheese and french fries for her sides. The food came out very fast, probably about 10 minutes after we ordered. We were both shocked how fast the food had came out. The Baby Back Ribs were delicious and cooked to perfection! The meat was falling off the bone! The sauce was so good that I didn't even have to use the sauce on the side of the table. Im so glad I ordered the brisket because it was just as good. The meat was super tender and the sauce placed on that made it even better. Each meal comes with a piece of cornbread, and maaaaaan that little piece of cornbread was some kind of good! I am really picky and specific of cornbread and usually don't order it at restaurants because it's usually super dry and doesn't taste good. I was pleasantly surprised by this cornbread. I didn't even have to add any butter to it whatsoever, which was super surprising. My wife said her mac and cheese was just ok and she probably wouldn't get it again. My only complaint is that I ordered double fries and if you look at the pictures between my food and my wife's, you can see my so called double order of fries is the same if not less than my wife's one order of fries. I didn't make a big deal over it though because I wanted to save room for dessert. My wife and I ended up splitting a cup of banana pudding. For restaurant banana pudding this was pretty good. I will say though they put an excessive amount of whip cream in the cup that made the cup look more fuller than it actually was. At times it tasted like it was more whipped cream than banana pudding. But for only $7.50 I can't complain too much. It was good, but could've been better without all of the whipped cream. Overall, the food was really good and we had great service. The food comes out really fast and you can't beat the price of the food. This is such an underrated place. We will definitely be back! read more

I ordered a 2 meat meal and a Cajun chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken sandwich was really good and moist. The fries tasted pretty good but the temperature was lukewarm at best and that took away some enjoyment. For the platter I got chicken wings and burnt ends. They were both tender and delicious. I also loved the cornbread. I got banana pudding for dessert and it wasn't great (heavy on the whipped cream, super thick pudding and not enough wafers to balance it all) - I won't order that again. This place was a staple of my childhood, and its current condition is that of the rest of Waldorf. That could pretty much end the review. Luckily the food was alright, although prices have gone through the roof. Ribs and pulled pork were cooked well, as was the Mac & Cheese. Broccoli was microwaved. Sauces have also really gone down hill both in selection and taste. Service was garbage. Host took five minutes to even get up to the stand, while another employee just looked at us. My mother in love took us here for my birthday. I was skeptical because my first time wasn't a great experience (not at this location). But this experience was great! Went on a Monday and they had a special on Monday Margaritas and they were amazing. The Mac and cheese were delicious. The whole fried chicken was fried to a T! And I enjoyed the corn bread and corn. I visited this location with my family today and we really enjoyed our lunch! Although the lunch special pricing is not in effect on the weekends, the pricing was fair and the BBQ was very decent! We have 4Rivers back home so I can't say that the Brisket at Famous Dave's competes with the brisket I'm used to, but the BBQ chicken was perfect and the Mac and cheese was delicious! I did not enjoy the Wilbur's beans as much as I liked the corn bread muffin. I DID like that the server asked me if I wanted white or dark meat when ordering the chicken! I'm writing this review based strictly on the service I received during my visit on August 13, 2025. Customers, please be aware. I dined alone because I was craving BBQ, and Famous Dave's is usually a solid choice. My bill came to $30.41, and I paid with my debit card. As part of my usual routine, I checked my bank account while still at the restaurant, and I'm glad I did. To my surprise, I noticed two charges from Famous Dave's: one for $30.41 (my actual bill) and another for $81.49, which I did not authorize. I immediately brought this to the attention of my server, who seemed unsure of what had happened. I asked for the manager, who I was told is named Dominique. When Dominique came to the table, she simply told me the $81.49 would fall off my account in about three days, no explanation of why the charge was there in the first place. She was extremely dismissive and lacked any sense of urgency or accountability. Because I felt like no one was taking this seriously, I told her I was going to call the police. She walked away, saying she wasn't going to argue with me. Just to be clear, I wasn't arguing. I was simply asking for my money to be returned. While waiting for the police, I noticed another customer--the one I saw the server assist earlier--coming out of the restroom. I asked if her bill was $81.49. She said yes, then quickly left the restaurant. That confirmed my suspicion: my card was somehow used for someone else's bill. When the sheriff arrived, he asked for the manager, but Dominique wouldn't come out from the back. Another employee said the general manager, Evan, was on his way. The officer mostly waited and appeared disinterested. Eventually, Evan arrived and reviewed the transaction. He told me the $81.49 was a "preauthorization" and would drop off. However, as someone who's worked in banking, I know preauthorizations are never placed for another customer's amount on someone else's card. That explanation made no sense. Evan did pull up the transactions and saw that the $81.49 was charged to a different card. He seemed surprised that I had the charge on my account. Still, he insisted it would fall off by the next day. I explained that I needed access to my funds immediately. The way this was handled made me incredibly uncomfortable. As for Dominique, I was told she didn't feel "comfortable" coming back out because of how I was "responding"--but in reality, she was the one being unprofessional and confrontational. In my opinion, this was a complete failure of customer service and management accountability. Whether this was an accident or something worse, the fact that my card was used for someone else's charge is unacceptable. These types of "mistakes" can easily turn into scams if customers aren't paying attention. I've contacted my bank, and I'm posting this to warn other customers to always double-check their receipts and bank transactions before leaving, especially at this Famous Dave's. If I hadn't, I might have been short $81.49--with no explanation and no one willing to help. read more

I haven't been to Famous Dave's since the location in Largo closed many years ago but I do remember that I always liked the restaurant. I visited this location for my grandfather's birthday dinner. We had our own private set up, which was nice. There was plenty of room for us to sit and roam around. I ordered the feast for two with the brisket and fried chicken. It also came with ribs, fried, Wilbur beans, coleslaw, and cornbread muffins. There was so much food. Enough food for two adults and we still had enough food left for a full dinner the following night. Everything tasted great and was seasoned perfectly. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger which also tasted really good. The service was good too. At first, there was only one waitress serving the area so service was a tad slow sometimes. I was happy when another waiter came to help out. They were both really friendly and helped make the experience even better. There's plenty of parking and it was easy to find. As BBQ goes, this isn't my favorite. I think for the novice this might be a great value to get some BBQ at a value that tastes like BBQ but is not made with the highest quality of meats. The restaurant does their best with the poor quality of meat they are given to work with. The spices are fair and the BBQ sauce are delightful. Overall I think Famous Dave's was a legit BBQ joint back in the day when Dave used the highest quality of meats and spices. Fast forward 10+ years and now that it is a corporation, they are cutting corners to make more money by using lesser quality ingredients. This was my first visit to any Famous Dave's. I walked in on a Tuesday evening through the "To Go" door- which I might add is a genius idea! You can order at a counter and wait for your food, order online or over the phone and pick it up through this entrance. To the right is the hostess stand for those patrons that will be dining in. Everyone was very pleasant when I walked in. I was greeted by a young man (maybe HS/early college age). He greeted me and asked if he could take my order- when I told him I've never been here before and was looking for recommendations- he appeared to be excited to share the menu and walk me through the most popular items. I eventually decided on the 2- meat combo (pictured) choosing the Famous Ribs & Pulled Pork accompanied by 2 sides (coleslaw & mashed potatoes), and all meals finish with a Corned Bread muffin. If you look at the picture you can tell I was eager to jump in prior to taking a picture. The Ribs- the best I've had in a LONG time- they fell off the bone, were perfectly smoked and could taste in each bite. The pulled pork was cooked very well- with just enough juice, spices, and BBQ sauce. The often forgotten- sides...The coleslaw was a creamy coleslaw- which is my preference and was very good. I'm not a huge mashed potato fan, but thought I would give them a shot- I was not let down- they were really tasty. Rounding out this incredible meal was one of the better cornbread muffins I've had. It wasn't dry at all- very tasty. Overall, if you are in the Waldorf area and are a fan of BBQ I would highly recommend Dave's Bar-B-Que. I only got a glimpse of the dine-in restaurant, but from what I saw, it looked very clean, well put together, well decorated, and an overall great ambiance for any group of people. read more

I placed an order online for curbside to pick up at 10:45am. When I arrived at 1045, the restaurant was not open nor was the order ready. I called at 1050 and the male employee told me there were no orders ready. I told him I was parked at curbside and I asked if someone would bring out or if I should come in. He told me to come in at 1105. I entered the restaurant at the time and the order was still not ready. It was finally ready at 1115. When I got home and tasted the brisket, it was so rubbery I could barely cut it with a steak knife. It was all fat and gristle. The brisket did not break apart when I pulled it forward and backwards. It was not possible that brisket was slow cooked or prepared properly. It was not juicy or tender. BBQ Heaven. Great place for family events and decent food prices. I like the wide range of their menu despite this mainly being a BBQ place. I usually get the chicken fingers, i know that sounds childish, but they are delicious lol. Top it off with the different sauce options that they offer and it's a hit every time. They have tons of other stuff for the grown ups too though lol so give them a try if you've never been. PS: Our server, Mikey, did a great job. ABSOLUTELY TRASH! Spent $49.08, charged $49.08 and $506.08! I went out to dinner because I was extremely sad about my sister's death. The service was subpar at best...and slow as hell. Once we got the bill, the waiter took extremely long to bring back our card. He never even mentioned the mistake. He just dropped the card-and said nothing. When I was notified by my bank of the $506.04- I called the restaurant and ask for a manager. Surprisingly the manager was already fully aware of the charges (absolute trash!). I take my wife to eat here every couple of weeks, in Waldorf, MD, especially on Tuesday. We like to order the Feast for 2 as it is the special on Tuesdays. We like to get the chopped pork to go with the ribs and usually get the roasted chicken and sometimes the fried (both are tasty). We also come on that day because our favorite server (Trey) is there. It is always a pleasure to see him. He is always very courteous and be listens to his customers and any special requirements we may ask for. He is always on top of it. The atmosphere is always enjoyable. Good music in the background. Sports on the television, news or even cooking shows. And of course there is always something good to drink. read more

I couldn't determine what I wanted to eat and I landed on Famous Dave's because hubby and I haven't been in a while. So I ordered online, chose curbside and drove to FDs. I got to the restaurant about 30 minutes after ordering(which was a little later than the 21 estimated time they quoted). I parked in a curbside spot and text the number as instructed. We are waiting... and waiting. No one comes. My husband goes inside and told them we were waiting. The food was ready the whole time just sitting at the front(getting cold). No one said anything regarding why they didn't bring it to us when we texted. Get home food is actually pretty decent UNTIL.... I noticed a weird piece of brisket in my meal. I investigate and learn it is pork ribs! I don't eat pork and haven't ate pork in over 15 years. So imagine my disbelief and disgust that they could make such a mistake. What if I wasn't really paying attention or if i just assumes they were right and it was actually brisket. So after that I wasn't even able to finish my food because I didn't trust it. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. That's how much of a good time I was having. My friend and I decided to sit in the bar area. At first the service seemed slow, but that is because they only had on guy doing the drinks for the entire restaurant as well as waiting on the bar area including booth seating. Anyway, after we put our order in, the food and drinks came very quickly. I ordered the spiked lemonade ($6 on Friday). Apparently, they have a different discounted drink each day. I also ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with baked beans and french fries. My friend ordered the baby back ribs. Our food was delicious.
