Our server Cassie was a perfect balance of attention and space. We ordered entrees only. Country fried steak was well done and the white gravy complimented the breading well. Portion of the sides weren't huge but perfect size. Fried Shrimp plate was a good portion and the shrimp were crispy. Added a side salad for 99 cents. Good ranch dressing. The grilled white fish was also very good and was prepared blackened. Flaky moist portion and the fries were delicious too. Chicken tender salad was bright and fresh. A large portion too with half being taken home for lunch the next day. Saved the worst for last and it was flavorful but could have been a tad crispier. The Monte Cristo sandwich. The berry spread was really good. As I said not sure why the low average. It is quality comfort food with large portions and the staff has always been on point. Texture was way wrong and without the breading you can certainly taste the oddity. Gross. The mashed potatoes and gravy were nearly flavorless. Stopped by Cheddar's for lunch today and was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Our Cheddars in south Florida closed several year ago and I've forgotten how much I missed those delicious warm croissants with melted honey butter. Swoon! All of the staff were very friendly, especially our waitress. She told us she'd be there for 10 years which is really great since the wait staff at chain restaurants usually turn over quickly. We all ordered salads - my sister and I were craving their iconic Chicken Caesar Pasta salad and my mom got a Grilled Chicken Pecan salad. All were exactly how we remembered and delicious! I will say the ambience of the restaurant was exactly as we remembered and was an exact copy and paste from all the others. Overall, the experience was impeccable and food was delivered hot and quick considering they were quite busy for their lunch hour. I have eaten here several times. The buttery sweet croissants are amazing. Tonight my husband and I are "kidless" and decided to order delivery. I have not had god luck in the past with delivery companies but we ordered directly on the site and even though the wait was about an hour the food was hot when it arrived. I got the Chicken'Alfredo pasta with broccoli and my husband got the steak and ribs. The food was actually quite good minus the chicken which tasted prepackaged. The buttery croissants were still warm and they threw in a couple extra which was a treat. I know from previous visits the staff is always very accommodating and the entire restaurant is fully accessible they even have a half booth/ half table we usually request to accommodate a wheelchair. The decor is modern and the vibe casual. We had some friends to come down at the spare of the moment so we decided to go to Cheddar's. Now they were very busy but we honestly didn't have to wait very long for the table. The waitress that we had was trying to assist us to the best of her abilities with all the tables she was taking care of at the moment. We ordered drinks and because they say so long the ice was melted and the salt fell in the cup which made the drinks very salty. We order appetizers and they came out extremely cold because it was someone else order so when the waitress came to our take finally with an order of Onion Rings she said that we would have to wait until she put in another order. Now it's time to retrieve our entree and yet it was not appeasable at all. I'm not a person that complain about anything but the whole outing was not a good experience. The food was cold, some food came and some we were still waiting while boxing our food. Usually I go nowhere without ordering some dessert to complete my meal but nothing else I wanted from there except the Honey Butter Rolls which I would have been fine just eating that for the evening. He said we managed people's drinking, while she was using her highest voice to voice that she received the order and just have to take care of other customers first [really? When Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen first came on the scene as "the next big thing" among full-service restaurants, they received a lot of hype as many who knew about them praised their food and service. I myself wanted to work on their staff part-time while I was working full time, not for extra money, but because I wanted to work for them. Maybe get free food. Now more than a decade later, it is sad to say that Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen (which I will shorthand to simply Cheddar's for the remainder of this review) has fallen much from grace. It was a slow and steady decline, but I think the biggest drop happened during the time when most restaurants suffered: the illegal shutdown due to COVID-19. After that, Cheddar's could not pick up from where they used to be. I think many have learned to smartly work with independence due to the year of not working a traditional "9 to 5" job. Anyways, the service has suffered because it seems nobody wants to work such jobs anymore. Don't get me wrong, the staff who served us has been more than spectacular, but they are so spread thin, there are spans of time in which they do not appear to us, like a simple check-up. The cooking staff might be stretched thin too because the food has become simply inadequate as in the low end of average. Food is passable, but definitely nothing that stands out. And to top it off, the side chili/soup/casserole I ordered with my food had some weird plastic container in them. Management tried to fix the situation by giving our apps free, but the overall decline has already taken its toil on this Cheddar's. Honestly, I hope that through time, Cheddar's can bounce back. They just need to re-evaluate their service and food a bit. If my friends or family want to eat here, I'll oblige and that will be Cheddar's chance to show me they've improved. Once we were seated, we were ignored. We were polite, and did not complain when we were given the worst table in the restaurant. We politely tolerated the constant traffic of staff coming and going thru the door next to our table, and the sudden windy draft each time the door opened. But then no one came to get our drink orders, let alone take our order for food. Other tables were seated after us, and were being attended to. Despite our efforts to get the attention of 3 different wait staff, they wouldn't acknowledge us. I even used the little electronic kiosk to call for a server. We were patient, but after 25 minutes of sitting at the table being ignored, we left. And no one cared. I'm going assume that because we didn't have a man with us, we were given the worst table in the restaurant, and were ignored. And now we will ignore Cheddar's....and so will our friends. read more

I've been to this location several times, in fact, this is one of a couple restaurants that my parents like to frequent. Always clean, and friendly wait staff. Lately I've had a problem with the food lacking flavor, so I sometimes do what I can to enhance my entrees, such as adding hot sauce to my pasta. My most recent visit I ordered the country fried steak with green beans and broccoli, it was the first time I ordered this item from cheddars. The green beans were wonderful, they had a butter garlic flavor and they seem to be cut fresh. They even made the broccoli taste good when I mixed them together. I was thoroughly disappointed with the country fried steak. It taste like liver and it was dry and chewy. No amount of gravy was able to save that enormous piece of what they were calling country fried steak. In fact, i've had better country fried steak bought frozen at Sam's Club. In fact, if you want better country fried steak, you may want to buy it from Denny's. Cheddars makes a lot of good things, my dad likes the shrimp, my mom likes the ribs, but please avoid the country fried steak. read more

I have been to cheddars at the Tamarac FL location. I have always enjoyed my experiences there. This location was very disappointing. The service was slow. The food arrived cold. The appetizer was delivered 10 minutes after the meal was served. It too was ice cold. There doesn't seem to be any urgency in getting food to the table once it is cooked. It sits under the heat lamp until someone decides to deliver it to the table. This seems to be a trend. I would pass on this venue. read more

They were fresh, airy, and delicious! There are so many, many menu options, I settled on the buttermilk chicken sandwich. It was very crispy and good. I ordered the broccoli cheese casserole as my side instead of fries and I really liked that. I wish it had been a bigger portion of the casserole. One friend had the loaded baked potato soup and she said it was very good; but it could have been warmer. Another friend had the Key West chicken and shrimp with 2 veggie sides. She said the chicken was tender and good, but the shrimp was delicious with a perfectly seasoned spice. (Old Bay type). The 4th guest had a chicken pot pie with the broccoli cheese casserole as well. It had a big, flaky crust and was served piping hot. The contents were creamy with tender chunks of chicken and just the right amounts of vegetables. Overall we were very satisfied with all our food, and our server was extremely attentive with water and tea refills, and she made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted by the gleeful Heidi, who has an amazing smile. She does indeed set a very high standard for what's to come. My waiter Trent presents himself much like a famous drummer, who mistakenly stumbled into the wrong gig. He is easily a top 5 server 2nd quarter earner. Trent is best in class. I know...right now you're likely asking yourself, "Who the heck orders a steak at Cheddar's?" A Texas T-bone, medium rare no less? Big Boy does. The steak was perfect. It tasted great, successfully achieving the difficult goal of balancing aroma and flavor. While this certainly can't touch the premium and unforgettable experience of feasting on tender, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth Japanese A5 Wagyu, for the price and considering the place, it's quite good. Here though is where I'm left in a state of utter aporia, perplexed, befuddled and confronted with the stark contradiction of an admittedly good steak, nestled among other woefully substandard cuisine. The Monte Cristo fried sandwich: "Smoked ham, smoked turkey, two cheeses battered and fried until golden with raspberry preserves and dusted with powdered sugar" sounded appetizing to my ears but sadly, punched well below average to my tastebuds. We ordered the Buffalo chicken wrapper and the Wisconsin cheese bites and both were perfectly crispy and juicy. I love when fried food does not taste like grease. The ranch was a surprise! We did eat in the room with the fan over our head, which was all dusty. it wasn't good for an appetizing experience. Food is fried some was good. Some was not so good. My husband said his food was tough hard to chew the iced tea was good and he had a Diet Coke to say we would return is probably not. It's too expensive to eat out and not enjoy your food. I called my gf & about 5 mins later I went in expecting to put my name on the list. She took me right to a table. It does seem clean but the tables are way too close. It's loud & you can hear the other tables convos loud & clear. Our server was friendly & welcoming. She did her best w/ meal & drink recommendations. I didn't really see but a couple things I would eat so I decided on the Caesar salad w/ salmon. The kitchen did prepare my salmon med well like I asked. My salad was pretty basic I added tomatoes, I don't remember there being croutons. The dressing was tasty. The prices are really reasonable but you get what you pay for.
