We stopped by Meg O'Malley's on a Saturday, and even though it was packed, the wait was only about 30 minutes--which wasn't bad at all. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by Brandon, who was incredibly friendly and had a great sense of humor. He made us feel welcome right away and provided outstanding service throughout our meal. To start, I tried the new Lychee cocktail, and it was delicious! We also ordered the Meg Threesome appetizer, which was flavorful and perfect for sharing with the table. The Kilkenny sandwich was absolutely amazing. If you've been missing a classic New York corned beef sandwich, this is definitely the place to satisfy that craving. I also loved the Irish Cuban sandwich--it was juicy, packed with flavor, and a fun twist on a classic. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and incredibly cheesy. The chicken pot pie was generously sized and full of flavor. And of course, you can't beat the 18¢ cup of bean soup--such a fun tradition and a great addition to the meal. Came as a last minute dinner plan. Hostess was very nice and seated us quickly. Bar and dining area had dim lighting and many TV's showing sports games. My mom and I decided to stop at Meg O'Malley's because she really wanted to stop at an Irish pub. I decided to do their mega O'Malley's 12 ounce cider for six dollars and my mom also got another cider for six dollars. We also have waters; and then my mom got the side of chips for 499. We stopped in for lunch and, overall, it was fantastic. We have been here several times but never for lunch. I ordered the Swiss cheeseburger and fries from the lunch special, and the portion size was spot on--the bun-to-burger ratio was perfect, and the lettuce, tomato, and onion were all fresh and crisp. The burger itself was very tasty, though it could've used a bit more seasoning and a house sauce (or any sauce) to really take it to the next level. On the upside, the fries were excellent--perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The meal was filling without being over the top, which I appreciated. My wife ordered the field greens and berries salad and added chicken, and she absolutely loved it. Fresh, well-balanced, and a great lighter option. As always, the atmosphere here was amazing. We were in Melbourne for the weekend and Meg O'Malley's happened to be right behind our hotel, so of course we decided to stop in! We were seated immediately. We started with the 18-cent soup, and wow -- so flavorful and delicious! I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered a side of mac and cheese, and honestly, it might be some of the best I've ever had. Creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, what more could you ask for? My husband went with the chicken pot pie, which he absolutely loved. I tried a bite, the top was perfectly crispy and flaky, and the inside was creamy and comforting. I booked a room in the back a month ahead for 14 of us on the 21st of August. I received a call to confirm in the morning and I confirmed it. Then when we arrived 20 minutes early, we were informed that the back room was given away. This was so embarassing for me since, our friends relied on me to get the booking! My Son, Daughter and myself came here to watch the soccer match, the place was completely packed so there were no tables available, my Daughter wanted me to be able to set down since I'm elderly and a disabled US veteran, so she asked one of the employees if she could grave me a chair and he said yes so she did then the manager came out and said we are not going to be moving chairs around, I explained the situation and he said that my son was giving a funny look and that we need to leave. Went to Meg's today to watch some football and enjoy brunch. My husband ordered Chicken and Waffles and it came with a caramel maple syrup. He said it was divine especially the syrup. If you like biscuits and gravy you MUST try it here. So good. Maybe the best I have had. I also enjoyed an OJ Mimosa. Came for early dinner and was seated right away. As all the other reviews state this place has the total Irish pub vibe and atmosphere. The service is great and our waitress was sweet as can be. The menu is extensive and offers many familiar Irish pub choices and while this seems to be the place to sit down with a dish of Shepards pie and grab a Guinness I felt the food was just ok. Sorry all you other yelpers who gave it 5 stars but I found everything salty and my Irish stew way too thick and starchy. On the positive side our chips appetizer was large & well fried and it did come with nice dipping sauces. On a very rainy day my husband and I went back to this IRISH PUB after several years. Ate bangers and mash with cabbage, and Jamison flight with Irish coffees for dessert. Ian was an exceptional waitstaff allowing us to just take in the Irish atmosphere and pretend I am back in Ireland while enjoying their amazing food. He made excellent recommendations for not only food choices but drink choices. I appreciate the attention to details and regularly checking in with us. This was a while ago. I was on a poker trip (I no longer do those) and decided to check out the town. I ended up at this joint and the burger was very Irish. I didn't expect the couple to be sitting next to me to get in a huge agreement as I was eating, for him to leave her there, and for me to later see her crying on a city bench outside on the way to my car. Huge portion and the cheese and special sauce really was great! They have great creamy coleslaw which I often choose to accompany anything I order. My husband had a burger with fries! Stopped in for lunch today. Hadn't been here in months and months. First of all, walking in to the place, we were met with an odd odor, like a dumpster smell. Decided to stick it out and eat there anyway. We ordered a Kilkenny sandwich and fish and chips. The corned beef on the sandwich was too fatty and tough and kept falling apart while eating it, disappointing because it used to be my favorite. Arrived on a Friday around noon and was surprised at how busy this place was. However the wait wasn't too long and we were soon seated. Our server, Maggie, was excellent. She was at our table within seconds of being seated. Friendly, polite, and helpful she took our orders, brought the meals, and checked on us several times throughout our visit - all while attending several other tables. I ordered the "Beef & Guinness Pie". It consists of tender braised beef, mushrooms and onions in a rich Guinness sauce with a flaky crust ($16.99). I added the optional baked three cheese macaroni as my topping ($3.99). Holy Moly! I'm here to tell you this has become one of my all time favorites! Huge place! Bustling and full of happy people. The food was SO good that I even forgive the line cook who let my pork loin and gravy go totally cold, waiting for the steak and mushroom pie. We hadn't been to Meg O'Malleys since 2019, but it was always a favorite. We live out of town, so we weren't regulars, but it was always on the list when we came in. This past weekend, we were in town and had to go visit an old favorite. Now that we live closer, we were excited to renew acquiantence. While most people don't go to an Irish Bar for gourmet food, M o'M's was reliably good in our memory. We were incredibly disappointed in our dinner Saturday night. We ordered Shepherds Pie, Corned Beef and Cabbage and Chocolate Cake. The Shepherds Pie tasted like it was made with Heinz Boullion Powder. The Corned Beef and Cabbage had no seasoning whatsoever, tasted like it was just boiled in plain water. The Chocolate cake looked beautiful, all drizzled with white chocolate and rasberry sauce. The drizzles were the best part. The cake tasted like the refrigerator smells. I hope we got it on a bad night but I suspect its not worth going for food again.
