I've written a full review here on my blog that talks about why this place is such a gem in The Berkshires: https://livelearndream.com/2020/01/07/chees-chinese-cuisine-a-local-staple-chinese-restaurant-in-the-berkshires/ But here's a quick snapshot as to why I have added this restaurant, as a local, to my Yelp & Google collection --- At Chee's Chinese Cuisine, their BBQ pork fried rice is fricken delicious and on point. They cook the Chinese BBQ pork, or Char Siu, in a traditional Cantonese traditional method by marinading the Chinese BBQ pork in a sweet BBQ sauce and then roasted in a covered oven or over a fire. I love asking them for a side of hot chili oil (which they give free of charge), and I add mix some in my fried rice... yummm, I love it a bit spicy. My favorite dishes from Chee's are the Beef and Broccoli and Chef's Chicken (also known as General Tso's). Their prices are phenomenal, just like my dad's, super affordable and you get a lot of food that can be eaten during two separate times as leftover. If you can, definitely try to get their lunch specials - it is seriously a bang for your buck! With these prices, you don't have to treat Chinese food as a special occasion, and you can become a regular. Foodie tip: Their egg rolls are legit, large, handmade, never frozen. It doesn't come with any "dipping sauce" like plum sauce, so I ask for a side of sweet and sour sauce that I use to dip my egg roll in! Their soups are accurately priced at $3 each. I get either the Egg Drop Soup or Hot and Sour Soup. I love how their Egg Drop Soup is full of chicken broth flavor with lots of eggs. It doesn't taste flavorless and it has some extra mushrooms and chopped green onions that give a refreshing cut through the earthy broth.

Always a great place to have lunch or dinner! Combo meals are really good. Best egg rolls in Berkshire County.

I'm a little biased due to the fact that I've been eating here since I could remember. The crab rangoons are the reason I breathe

This is something I will no longer do. For about the last year and a half or so, IMHO, the restaurant has continually gone downhill. Where in years past the staff always made the customer feel very welcome, that feeling of being welcomed seems to have evaporated. I'm under the impression now, based on the last three visits, that the front woman running things just wants your order and then be done with it. She's not the same person from a few years ago. Last night I ordered what is called the "Seafood Wor Bar". The only items in the order that tasted anywhere like they should were the shrimp, and maybe the scallops, being on the small side, and not very plump at all; both tasted fairly well. The menu showed shrimp, scallops, crab and lobster. There was not one piece of lobster at all. And the crab was that fake crab you can buy in the grocery store made from a fish called the Pollock. Regarding the so-called crab, they were about the size of the first segment of one of your fingers_ maybe an inch long and about half an inch wide. For me the most epic thing regarding this so-called crab meat was the lack of taste; nothing like crab at all and very bland. Even the texture was way off. When chewing all I got was a mushiness. I never like thinking what I'm about to text, but I have to be honest here. Until they get the buffet up and running again, because right now it's menu only, there's no way I could recommend to anyone going to this restaurant. Also, as the name of the restaurant is still shown on the sign as "Oriental Buffet, All You Can Eat", I feel they should change the name of the restaurant and get rid of the all you can eat part of it. Three or four visits back, I asked the woman if I could order more without it costing me more because of the name of the restaurant, and she looked at me like I was an alien, and when I explained to her that at the bottom of the name it still says all you can eat, she explained that's only with buffet. I used to really look forward to and enjoy going to this restaurant, but not anymore. I doubt if I'll go until things get back to what I consider the old normal.

Everything is made fresh to order from the thick, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Ordering is quick and casual. You place your order at the back right counter when you walk in (for dine-in or takeout), and the cashier also acts as your server. If you order a noodle soup, they'll ask if you want green onions and/or cilantro. After that, just grab any open table and relax. We ordered a variety of dishes. Appetizers: Scallion pancakes: (3/5) nice crispy pancakes with scallions. Dumplings with pork and leeks: (3/5) tender dumplings filled with pork and some leeks Spicy stewed beef noodle soup: (4/5) thick hand pulled noodles in a savory broth topped with vegetables like bok choy and mushroom and some tender beef Hot and sour vermicelli soup: (4/5) very tangy savory broth with tender vermicelli noodle and ground pork. Medium spicy level Biang Biang noodles with pork: (4/5) their signature hand-pulled noodles are sautéed in a medium spicy sauce with pork. Overall this place hits the spot for an authentic Chinese meal without the glitz and glamour.
