We have been coming to Chees for many ,many years and the food has always been very good, very consistent, but last night I had vegetable egg foo young which was lacking in vegetables, very 'eggy' tasting and was definitely undercooked, plus the gravy was completely bland and tasteless. I had a big order. This was our 2nd time eating the food from Chee's. The first time was okay and I just needed delivery so that was what got me to try it again. I was told 6:45 and it wasn't here until 7:15 , understandable on a Friday night. What isn't as Understandable is the quality of food. The Sweet and Sour Sauce is very good but the chicken to go w it is in pieces as big as my head and its myshy dough like inside. The General Tso chicken was in big huge chunks and I asked for mild and its far from it. The beef w broccoli was bland like watered down brown sauce at best. The egg roll is strange. The Crab rangoon is like a big blob. The shrimp are okay but fried in a circle so we weren't even sure what it was. The boneless spareribs are like chewing old tough leather. The teriyaki chicken on a stick was very good. The fried rice was okay. The chicken chow mein is good. The chicken wings could have been fried a little harder but are okay. All in all even if I need delivery I probably wouldn't order here again. read more

Since moving to Adams Ma.I wanted to try the local Chinese food here so my grandson and I went here at Cher's for a small place the food was perfect.The Pu Pu platter was spot on very good.You need to order the crab ragoon as a side it was not included but in platter was chix wings,egg rolls,fried shrimps,boneless ribs, beef teriyaki.& chix fingers. Then we ordered a side of shrimp lo mein the food came out hot in all it was very good food this will be on my places to return to. read more

Great for a sit-down meal. Best wonton soup for many miles. Excellent fried rice (nlike others, theirs contains large meat chunks and veggies! ). Superb homemade pear dipping sauce for egg rolls and noodles. The combo dinners are delicious and large. Expect to take home leftovers! My server was very nice and made me feel welcome as a single. While nothing to write home about, their food is basically the same that you would find in any decent Asian restaurant throughout the United States. The restaurant has been there at least 26 or 27 years; about how long I've lived in my current home here in Adams. I know they were there before my late wife and I moved up here from South Carolina in 1995. They're one of the few holdouts in the area that are still not allowing people to come in, sit down and enjoy their meal: it's only delivery and pick up. Again the food is pretty good, so I would recommend it for people passing through our area who like Asian food, bearing in mind it's not really Asian food but rather the American version of it. Oh, if you ask nicely, you can get the food with no MSG. But WHY? Especially when it makes the food taste so good? And there is NOTHING harmful about eating it for 'normal' folk. read more

They cook the Chinese BBQ pork, or Char Siu, in a traditional Cantonese traditional method by marinading the Chinese BBQ pork in a sweet BBQ sauce and then roasted in a covered oven or over a fire. I love asking them for a side of hot chili oil (which they give free of charge), and I add mix some in my fried rice... yummm, I love it a bit spicy. My favorite dishes from Chee's are the Beef and Broccoli and Chef's Chicken (also known as General Tso's). Their prices are phenomenal, just like my dad's, super affordable and you get a lot of food that can be eaten during two separate times as leftover. If you can, definitely try to get their lunch specials - it is seriously a bang for your buck! With these prices, you don't have to treat Chinese food as a special occasion, and you can become a regular. Foodie tip: Their egg rolls are legit, large, handmade, never frozen. It doesn't come with any "dipping sauce" like plum sauce, so I ask for a side of sweet and sour sauce that I use to dip my egg roll in! Their soups are accurately priced at $3 each. I get either the Egg Drop Soup or Hot and Sour Soup. I love how their Egg Drop Soup is full of chicken broth flavor with lots of eggs. It doesn't taste flavorless and it has some extra mushrooms and chopped green onions that give a refreshing cut through the earthy broth. read more

I was on some errands with my parents in Adams this afternoon, and asked the cashier at one of our stops for her recommendation for some good Chinese food. She couldn't wait to tell us about her favorite place, Chee's. Always willing to try something new, we ordered our favorites, egg foo young, pork fried rice, crab Rangoon and Tso's chicken. Everything was amazing. The egg foo young was fluffy and crispy, and I'm pretty sure mine had fresh shrimp in it. The Rangoon were huge and packed with flavor. The chicken was tender and spiced perfectly. If you're passing through Adams, or nearby and haven't tried this place yet.. go. Go eat this delicious food. read more

This is the ONLY chinese food i order from. Lately I have been getting crappy food. The egg rolls were a normal size. Last week when i ordered they were half the size!!! What and why is this? I've been to plenty of chinese restaurants. I saw that they had lunch specials and decided it was my opportunity to give it a try. I am a huge lover for chicken chow mein. Now although this one didn't take the cake, it was still very good. I recently moved to the area and I honestly can't complain. Our waitress was very nice and the gold fingers - absolutely delicious! Up here for the weekend and we decided to try this place out. Pork Fried Rice, AMAZING, best we've ever had. Teriyaki beef was thick and delicioussss. Beef broccoli was perfect. This is such an A+ spot!! I'm originally from the Berkshires, so when I come back to visit family a couple times a year, this is ALWAYS on my list of places I have to go! My family and I usually get take-out from Chee's, and amongst our favorite menu items is the Hot & Sour Soup. SOO yummy! My last trip back home I took my boyfriend here for lunch, as I was showing him my local hangout spots. Turns out they have a BOMB lunch menu. I can't remember exactly how much the lunch specials cost, but I remember thinking that it was inexpensive. Again, A+ spot. The food is ok, the chicken soup is great, chicken fingers are great but thats about it. I don't go here anymore, I don't even get take out. Kelly is a waitress here, she must have been previously a hair dresser. First time ever having her and I knew about her kids, her most hated person jn town, and how her job there was alright, especially when it's slow?!??? Chee's made me violently ill on two separate occasions. The first time I figured it was a fluke so I gave them a second chance...I wish I hadn't because their second chance gave me an overnight stay at the gorgeous North Adam's Regional Hospital with food poisoning. I must admit, the food was ok going down and I know a TON of people that swear by this place but I will NOT be giving them another chance. I thought this place offered run-of-the-mill Americanized Chinese food, with a below-average selection. There is no Mei Fun, there is no Singapore rice noodle, a lot of other dishes that I like to fall back on were not here. The food is, in my opinion, too sweet. There seems to be sugar in most of the sauces. I recognize that some Americans may like that, and that this is the norm in American Chinese restaurants, but I don't like it. What salvaged the meal was that the hot oil (oil soaked in dried chili peppers) was top-notch. I put a lot of it in my fried rice and the chicken with string beans (which, IMHO, is the best option I could find on the menu), and the meal ended up tasting pretty good. I did not like the egg roll, however. I think this place has some things going for it, and I don't think it would be that hard for them to improve to at least a four-star rating. I'd recommend: (1) use less sugar in the sauces (2) try broadening the menu a bit, such as by also offering rice noodle dishes like mei fun and singapore rice noodle (3) try branching out into a little bit more authentic items...maybe try cooking with Chinese broccoli instead of American broccoli...then offer Chicken with Chinese broccoli? The 3 star review that this restaurant has is criminal. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the Berkshires. The chef himself is dedicated to buying the freshest ingredients- something I have witnessed first hand when I was I highschool kid working produce. Try the goldfingers, wings, and chef's beef. We ordered for delivery and we live in northwest North Adams, and everything came piping hot and the young man who delivered was so nice and careful with our packages. We have allergies and they were super conscientious about separating our allergen foods away from the other non-allergens, even ones we didn't mention having, like peanuts, were separated in their own containers. The Golden fingers are soooo good. Beautiful whole chicken with yummy breading. The sauces and veggies all tasted so fresh and homemade. I really loved the boneless pork ribs and beef skewers, and the chef's crispy beef was yum yum yummy. I'm looking forward to visiting the store someday. I love Chee's I go there at least once a week it is a treat. It has very good food. It is kid friendly the employees are very nice they treat you respectfully. Ask them to do anything they will do it. But if you are planning to order white rice make sure to bring your own butter. Everyone should go here at least once in there life. The best Chinese cuisine in the area. If you're looking for Japanese sushi or healthy Asian inspired dishes, this is not your place. Keep looking. If you want impeccable American Chinese food this place is top notch! Everything on the menu is great. Fried goodies, rice, lo mein, and beef abound. Seating at your table with fresh food made for your order. This is much better than a buffet style Chinese restaraunt. You can get a platter to split for dinner or some combo plates to go for a reasonably priced lunch. Depending on when you order prices and delivery availability vary. Lunch combos are less expensive during the day while delivery is only available after 4PM. I would highly recommend going here. I would recommend trying the Egg Foo Young. They don't serve white rice with their chow mein. They equate it with lo mein, which already has a starch. I had a large chow mein delivered and it had no white rice. ridiculous. read more
