Butter chicken poutine - Large
Thu P.

Had a craving for both fries and curry and landed on NYF due to an unfortunate mishap. The fries and butter chicken were delicious until I started getting to the middle/bottom. Only the top had butter chicken and cheese. After eating a little, I tried to mix it all together but there wasn't enough sauce to cover the fries. It became sad plain fries, which I didn't like. Large was bigger than I expected! Next time I would get small/regular. Large is definitely for sharing! Service was quick and it was just in a food court. Many seats at this food court, not too crowded or loud.

The works poutine regular size and coke

I used a reward in my loyalty app for a free pop with purchase and there weren't any problems. There was a small line in front but it moved quickly. The wait time for my poutine was fast, as it took less than a minute for them to make it. I chose the regular sized "the works" poutine at $8.25. They also have a large sized poutine at $12.25 that isn't much bigger but at a whopping $4 more i think is kinda overpriced. It should be $10-$11 at most. "The works" comes with beef chilli, fries, sour cream, cheese sauce, green onions, and bacon bits. It was actually pretty good. It did not taste as amazing as I had hoped but it was better than I expected. The melted cheese was mostly at the bottom though so it could have been mixed better. For the pop, I chose coke but it was a little watered down. They let you get free refills at least. One thing they used to offer which is no longer available probably due to the pandemic is an assortment of condiments like seasoning salts and salty sauces that you can put on top of your meal for extra flavor. You used to be able to help yourself at the counter and they even had cups for it. I really missed that. Overall their poutine is pretty good (but not the best) and I would come back if i'm craving it. 4 stars.

what a pleasant surprise! the butter chicken poutine is a cool fusion of flavors that remind me of home yet gives that comfort of fries/ carbs. very masala yummy. i wish there was more cheese and crispier fries just because i prefer that, but all in all it was a great choice to get when we were in the mall food court hehe please excuse the photo we were halfway into devouring it when i realized :)

Terrible food, cold bread and even you ask for the loaded hot dog, still a plan hot dog. Save your money. Great photographer, cause the hot dog looks very good on photo.

Reading the other reviews here and I don't agree on giving 1 star for poor service but good food. It's a food court for goodness sake. Anyways, I've been eating NYF since I was little and this place probably gives the most gravy for the poutine. Other places that don't give a lot result in the cheese not melting and you're left with eating chunks of cheese. By the way if anyone is wondering, their original gravy is mushroom/soy based, so it is vegetarian. If anything, their original gravy is better than their braised beef gravy. I haven't tried other things at this specific place so I can't say for those.

Took a shortcut through the Pacific Centre to get out from the cold when I happened to walk by. It was late and shops were beginning to close so I picked up some Original Poutine to go. Gosh damn it smelled so good. I would have eaten it there but since the place was closing I enjoyed it back in my hotel room enjoying French T.V. There's something comforting about this scenario that I really like. Fries made perfect, squishy squeaky cheese and a heap of gravy in chilly weather. It's a cozy comfort snack. Mel M Yelp 18:25

Good fries for fast food craving. We had the cheese sauce and chipotle sauce. It's in the fast food area.

Fantastic shop - French fries, gravy and cheese curds. They offer several other options with toppings such as pork, ground beef, sour cream, etc... Simple food served very fast.

Mostly ice for a $2 drink.

I have tried a lot of poutine in Vancouver and this has to be one of my favourites. Especially as the fries are salty and crispy

A burst of bold flavors for a solid snack!…read more We came for early lunch to try their wagyu and veggie dogs. There was a line but it went fast, we waited ~5 mins and received our dogs, lemonade, and fries within 10 mins. The wagyu termimayo dog was really flavorful, and the mayo/teriyaki/fried onions/seaweed balanced well the sausage. The veggie okonomi was also yummy with flavorful sausage, sauce, and cabbage (we didn't get the bonito flakes). We also ordered the butter and shoyu fries which were well-seasoned with a shoyu powder and didn't feel any more greasy with butter than regular fries. The yuzu lemonade was surprisingly refreshing, the yuzu flavor was natural, strong, and didn't overpower the lemonade. There is a station where you can get sriracha, ketchup, mayo, and pickled jalapenos on the side to customize your dog to your liking. The interior felt unique and cozy, while still being clean. There is a good amount of seating indoor and outdoor. Typical street parking. Wasn't filling enough to count for a full lunch for us, but a great snack bite!

The menu has a lot of options, but my favorites were the Wagyu Beef Dog (#11) and the Pork Dog (#1). Both were packed with flavor and loaded with the signature Japanese-inspired toppings that made Japadog famous. The combination of savory meats, sauces, and fresh toppings takes a simple hot dog to another level. Quick service, great late-night eats, and a Vancouver classic that's worth trying at least once.

This Mcdonalds is unique because there are no chairs and tables anywhere near the stand-alone mall…read morerestaurant. There are also no self-serve computer order kiosks. Eating in is not an option. Note that I came around 9pm on a Monday so maybe they took all the tables away earlier. Years ago when I visited this location, they had many chairs and tables just outside and inside the restaurant. Due to the awful area, a lot of homeless people were hanging around just sitting. Not necessarily eating. Now with the chairs and tables gone, there are barely any of them hanging around so I guess it's for the better. It didn't eliminate the problem entirely because as soon as I stepped out of the restaurant area I was asked a couple times by several people for a "rolling paper", extra change, or a lighter. Also, I noticed some of the windows of the restaurant were broken and boarded up with plywood. Yikes. It was VERY hot out (30 degrees!) So I decided to visit this McDonalds for a cheap but delicious frozen treat. I wanted to try their new peach smoothie but they ran out of it. I came later at 9pm so it's not surprising but it's still disappointing because I love peach smoothies. I settled for their strawberry banana smoothie. The smoothie I bought was delicious so I think it is very much worth it. It was refreshing and I could actually taste the strawberries and Banana flavors in it. In my opinion, a medium size is just enough to cool you down on an extremely hot day. Overall, their fruit smoothies are good! Good price too as it was "summer drinks day" time so it was only $2 for a medium one ($2.38 after tax and cup fee). Service could be better. There was a group of homeless looking people in front of me counting every dime, nickel and quarter to pay for their food so it took a really long time to wait to get my order in. There were 4 cash registers. Usually, another staff member would jump in and take another order using the other register but none came. Only one register was available and there were no self-serve kiosks. I had to wait 5-6 minutes to wait and get my order in even though there was only one order in front of me. Once I got my order in, it took a little longer than expected to get my smoothie, maybe 3-4 minutes. Usually it would take 1-2 minutes if it was not busy like this visit. I have a feeling that this Mcdonalds is either understaffed or just slow. Overall, I'd avoid this location if possible. Slower than expected service, and the type of people that are walking around in the area are not very, say, totally normal. Also there's nowhere to eat your food at the restaurant or near it. Kinda inconvenient. It's a decent grab and go place for the kind of stuff where you can walk and enjoy your food such as smoothies. Only giving 2 stars for the reasons stated above. I recommend you go to the slightly better Mcdonald's nearby instead. It's by Main Street - Science World skytrain station but only one short subway stop away from the Chinatown - Stadium Skytrain Station by the mall.

Otherwise I would have to wait anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes because nobody (and I quote) nobody wanted to go into the back freezer for any of the beef patties and all that they had ready were the fish or chicken patties that had been sitting out under the warmer for a few hours!

It came loaded with a chocolate ice cream bar, crushed vanilla waffle cone, and Kit Kat bars blended into a rich chocolate heaven. German Brats - Pete Brat: Texas bison sausage topped with onions and bell peppers, wrapped in gooey gouda, mozzarella, and cheddar. This is my favourite! Summer Special - Maui Beef Brat: Sweet with mango habanero sauce, grilled pineapple, teriyaki mayo, and jalapeños. Super unique combo. Curry Fries: Crispy fries piled high with currywurst slices, curry ketchup, and mayo. Perfect comfort snack. Great flavor, nice snap, and I'm definitely interested in trying more of their menu options next time. The fries, though, were a bit of a miss for me. They were not super fresh, and the seasoning had a funky taste I didn't love. Might just be a personal preference, but I'd probably skip them next time.
