    Fries

Turkey grilled cheese is one of a kind, truly. I would not recommend their loaded style fries, but I think their regular fries would actually be some of the best! We had to wait a little bit for ours which was well worth it, and it's tucked in a nice growing area of Wilmington.

Kinda pricey I had the southern charm grilled cheese and a tomato soup Food was filled with flavor and delicious Service was pretty quick Really only negative I had about was felt was overpriced

I got the buffalo cheese and the loaded fries. The buffalo was very good but had a watery texture to it like it has been soaking, the sauce is great and complimented by the bread. The loaded fries seem to have a sweet rub seasoning on the fries and coveredddd in cheese and a sauce. The sauce isn't really a bang flavor, honestly had a sour cream taste to it. Expensive. For the two items it was 29$. The service was great, a hole in wall vibe. Not many people sit and eat. Parking is gravel and kinda cluttered. If you're in the area i would recommend! ***edit*** after warming up the second half of the buffalo sammich - there are shredded carrots on the chicken! Thats the "water" vibe i was getting when originally reviewed. Warmed up later is just as good!

I love sandwiches, especially grilled cheese. I'm also a big fan of buffalo sauce. This restaurant is in a cool area with a couple other shops and restaurants. It was clean inside and the person taking my order was cheerful. You order at the counter then are given a numbered table marker and they bring your food to your table. I asked for the picked carrots and celery on the side because celery isn't usually my thing but it works perfectly with this sandwich. The bread was not greasy and toasted to just the right level of crunchiness on the outside. The sandwich was adequately cheesy and I felt like they nailed the ratio of cheese, chicken, bread, and sauce. I almost ordered another sandwich to take home (I live over an hour away at the moment) but didn't and I regret it. The portion size was bigger than I expected for $12. Some might find it expensive but I might be used to prices from bigger or more touristy cities so I thought it was a good value. The menu had a variety of interesting grilled cheese sandwiches and I saw they have a special Thanksgiving type sandwich so I'll definitely be going back soon. Update-- I got the Leftovers sandwich. I wish it had roasted turkey or even chicken instead of deli meat. The other flavors on the sandwich were delicious! The cold cuts just felt a bit too slimy for this type of hot sandwich. I got a Buffalo Baby to go and asked for the slaw on the side, just like I'd had it on my first visit but it was included on the sandwich anyhow. I don't live in the area but came for day trips to holiday markets/fall activities. I still feel like this place deserves 5 stars and I will be eating here when I return to the area!

I have been wanting to try this place. We are just hanging out waiting for friends. We got cheese fries. Fries were nicely cooked. Cheese sauce was great They have juice. Which my kid loved. The juice i made locally. I have bought tea from her as a vendor. No GF beers. Had one cider We were not supposed to be eating so unsure about the GF menu.

We stopped here for a late dinner. The employees were friendly and could answer questions about the menu items. The atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing (cutes word signs and plants). There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoor. Hubby ordered the Brendito which he really enjoyed. It was the perfect mixture of sweet, spicy and savory. 5/5 I ordered the Buffalo Baby (with the slaw on the side). We also decided to try the Parmesan fries. I usually wouldn't order something that I love at other restaurants but they only have one chicken option. I'd give it a 3/5. The fries were really basic and I hardly could taste the Parmesan. I looked at the menu while eating them and should've ordered the beer cheese for my fries instead.

Unique concept and flavors, so I'm a fan! Excited to go back because the food was great! Definitely interested in trying more grilled cheese flavors but the Brie and jam was unique and really good! Vibe was fine, nothing too memorable.

BUFFALO BABY, REGULAR PARMESAN FRIES, and Buttermilk Ranch

CheeseSmith never disappoints, and the Buffalo Baby is a must-try! The perfect mix of spicy buffalo chicken and melty cheese, paired with their homemade buttermilk ranch that's absolutely to die for. The parmesan truffle fries are next-level, too--always fresh, flavorful, and totally worth the indulgence. The service is always great. Cook time can be a little long, but trust me, the food is well worth it. Plus, the location near the Cargo District makes it easy to grab your meal and explore nearby spots, many of which let you bring your food in. Or just eat inside as they have plenty of seating and a cool atmosphere. Definitely a go-to for an amazing grilled cheese experience! It's a must stop with friends when coming to Wilmington!

    Detour sandwich!

Don't come here if you are in a rush. Also things on the menu not all available so have choices in mind when ordering. What we did end up with was decent -the detour sandwich was fine as was the Brussels sprouts. Came at 2pm (not lunch rush). Probably won't be back tho. Points for using compostable materials. They also didn't put napkins or forks into our to go bag so now after already tipping them for good service I have to find some at another place.

If you like anything with cheese, Cheese Smith most likely will have something you will enjoy. It is a fast casual restaurant with a great atmosphere inside and some outside seating as well. It is a part of the cargo district so there are quite a few shipped around it to check out after you eat. I got the Buffalo Baby sandwich which was essentially Buffalo chicken dip in a grilled cheese format and it was delicious. Also split a side of beer cheese fries they were also great. The beer cheese was packed with flavor, the fries were nice and crispy and overall were just really delicious. There are a lot of different grilled cheese options as well as cheese fry options, it is something fun and different and worth trying out!

    Buffalo Baby Sandwich

Okay this place is amazing. I was watching a food network show last night and the Cheesesmith was mentioned. It had been years since I tried the food truck so I swung by after an evening run. I ordered the Buffalo Baby and a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts are some of the best I think I've ever had. They're coated in Parmesan and have a chili oil (?) finish with a bit of heat. The grilled cheese is gooey, crunchy, and has a bit of heat. It's not at all like anything I've had before and that's a good thing.

You know if you read the reviews I love the Cheesesmith and each time we go we have a diffierent sandwich, I Wont bore you with another full blown review but do yourself a favor and go and get the Parm Fries, and so far I think we have tried 2/3 of the sandwiches and just so good, not a bad one in the bunch. So much to do right around this "Cargo District"

It's spring break and azalea fest...so that worked out perfectly. We were greeted at the counter and the nice young gentleman asked if my daughter could have a cookie. Sure! Giant chocolate chips, so good. I ordered and they even offered me a coffee while I waited. I chose the Haley on a long roll. Nice crusty bread, fresh mozzarella, turkey, arugula and balsamic. Honestly, haven't had a hoagie that good in years. We also had their pasta salad, equally delicious. Plenty of seating inside, with a lot of cool photos on the walls. It felt just like being home. Flavorless mediocre antipasto salad. Desserts are so mediocre aswell. They stole the carrot cake I ordered. pound cake dry and flavorless. Trashy lays chips lazily thrown on as a side to everything. The "capri", the first thing im able to taste yet, the beef has a taste of raw tuna. Disgusting. Went into the trash. Along with all the money ive spent at this dumpster. Everywhere in wilmington ive been has been slightly less than mediocore, Mediocre ingredients everywhere, preperation doesnt matter at this point. even the "nicer" restuarants here. But this is just so so much worse. and oh the prices, the prices compelled me to write the review. Terrible service, I accidentally grabbed the wrong sandwich due to the terrible squeal the chef lets out. I guess he knows how much a customer can be peed on with the "food" they serve, and the seemingly good reviews they brag about getting in return.
