I ordered delivery tonight of a black bean burger and salad The salad was beautiful but didn't allow me to choose the dressing. The black bean burger was disgusting. I ordered this as a healthy option as to a regular burger and it was burnt, greasy and the guac or whatever was on it made it so soggy. Stay away from the black bean burger! .

Ate dinner here on a Friday night at about 6:20pm before watching a show at the nearby Wilson center. It was busy, but there was still some tables available. It took a little over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. I did notice our food was sitting at the counter for a few minutes so by the time it arrived to our table it was lukewarm. We ordered the Beyond Burger, Fried Green Tomato burger, Big Wisconsin (without bacon), and the Smoked Brisket sandwich. Sides we ordered were the side salad, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. My meal companions thought the Beyond Burger was okay and the Smoked Brisket sandwich was good. The Big Wisconsin burger was mediocre. The burger meat was very dry and wasn't that flavorful. The cheese was skimpy. The onions were not grilled well, they were basically raw red onion slices. The size of the burger was not too big nor too small for my petite stomach. I did order a single patty, but I would say if you're a bigger person/have a bigger stomach try ordering double patties for a more filling meal. I tried a bite of my partner's Fried Green Tomato burger and that was way better than the Big Wisconsin burger. The regular fries were okay. We didn't ask and we also weren't offered to pick salad dressings for our side salads. So when we got our side salads, we didn't get any salad dressing other than the 1,000 island dressing that comes with the Big Wisconsin. The side salad was your basic iceberg lettuce mix that you buy from the store, with added chopped tomato, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon (which we omitted). If I ever come here again, I would stick with the Fried Green Tomato burger.

Visited the Angus Grill this week. We could take it or leave it. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and they were not very impressive. We couldn't figure out the vibe in this place. Is it a hamburger joint? Is it a bar? Is it a modest priced restaurant? We had a server that barely acknowledged us. Her peers seemed more driven by socializing amongst the other servers and really acting silly. It was 5pm on a Wednesday. I guess they were excited to celebrate that it was middle of the week hump day. Glad we gave it a whirl but we want be back to any location of Angus Grill.

Amazing food and service! This was my first time to visit this place, and I will be back. Only issue I had was Dukes Mayonnaise on the tables. I'm 99.9% sure that mayonnaise is supposed to be refrigerated after opening.

Pro tip: if you enter a restaurant on a Saturday night at 6:30 and most tables are empty, that might be your first red flag. The service, while very good, can't make up for the lack of atmosphere and sub-par food. We went for a burger and normally wouldn't order an appetizer but we decided to try the fried green tomatoes. They were hands down the worst we've ever had. Cut too thin, the insides were soggy and lacked flavor. We each had one and left the rest for where they belong...in the garbage. I had the angus burger and my husband had the sugar egg burger. They were ok, but not nearly as good as what you can get at Winnie's. We won't be back.

We were next and got the last table for two. The place was completely full. After reading the menu, the daily special was 1/2 price burgers. They also gave first responders 20% off on Mondays. They have specials every night, so it is worth it to check that out before coming in. We started with a basket of hush puppies and corn muffins with yummy molasses butter. If you get in between 3:30 and 5pm, appetizers are 1/2 price Monday through Friday. I can see why this place is so busy! So I decided on a burger, who can pass up half price day? And we also got the knuckle sandwich, which was 20% off for first responders, so my hubs got that. Off to a good start. Also tried fresh squeezed lemonade, really delicious and fair priced. The burger and the sandwich were huge, we both had to take half to go. You get one side for $1.50, but added sides are $4 each. Still ok since the prices are good. There were charges for the added bacon and cheese on my burger but still at half price, it is a great deal. The restaurant is very rustic, pub atmosphere and very relaxed. The bar was completely full, so that must be the highlight of the restaurant. Looked lively and busy. Service is very good, the servers come back to check on you often. Chloe was very sweet and attentive. The only disappointment was dessert. We chose the cake of the day. It was chocolate Bundt cake with cinnamon frosting. To be completely honest, it tasted like boxed cake mix and canned frosting. It was very small, so I knew it was probably cake mix. There was nothing special about this; it was also pretty dry. Even if they purchased their desserts from a local bakery, it would have been better than what we got. I won't say avoid all their desserts, but I wanted to point out the cake specifically. So overall: The prices were excellent, food and service is really great, and the pub atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The plus was that on a busy night, we didn't wait for a table. They do not do reservations so prepare to wait, or just go earlier. I would definitely come back here, and enjoy some more of the large menu. 5 stars

I ended up coming here twice in two days--once to try the NY Chopped Cheese and then again to try…read morethe Philly Cheesesteak. Let's start with the chopped cheese. As a New Yorker, I was excited to see it on the menu. And let me say this first... the sandwich was delicious. I cleaned that thing up and didn't leave a single crumb behind. The flavor was on point. Here's the only issue: it wasn't really a chopped cheese. Instead of using chopped ground beef like you'd find at a New York bodega, it was made with sliced steak. I asked the owner about it, and he explained that they used to make it the traditional way, but they switched because the ground beef would dry out by the time customers got it home or had it delivered. Using steak keeps it much juicier. I told him, "Then it's not really a chopped cheese anymore... it's basically a Philly cheesesteak." He laughed and said, "No, our Philly cheesesteak uses different meat." That caught my attention, so I said, "Hold up... you have an actual Philly cheesesteak too?" He said yes. So naturally, I came back the next day to try it. After trying both, I can honestly say I liked the "chopped cheese" much more. The Philly cheesesteak was made with Steak-umm-style beef, and unfortunately it was a little dry. It also could've used a lot more cheese (or cheese sauce) to bring everything together. I didn't complain because everyone has their own way of making things, and I respect that. But here's my opinion: if they simply renamed that "chopped cheese" sandwich to their Philly cheesesteak, it would be one of the best cheesesteaks around. In fact--and this is just my opinion--I think it would give J. Michael's Philly Deli some serious competition. At the end of the day, that's just one New Yorker's opinion. Go try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
