Aug. 2026 This is the first time in six years that Brass Balls is not getting a perfect score. The nachos are usually the highlight of our visit. We always order two for the table, but this year they were burnt and had very few toppings with almost no cilantro crema. Please see the photo for the side‑by‑side comparison. My son also looks forward to the chocolate milkshake every summer, but the machine was reportedly down for the next hour. I understand that things happen, but it added to an already disappointing food experience. Several people in our group ordered chicken sandwiches and said the chicken was extremely chewy. None of them finished their meal. Brass Balls, I truly hope this is not the new norm. With so many dining options, this is the quickest way to lose loyal customers. Stopped here on a Friday night after licking our elbows at the Poor Girls Open weighins. We sat upstairs and grabbed a table for 7 and spread out. Bartender Jeff Mick pulled up and took care of us. We had a couple shots (which we totally needed at that point) and I ordered two soups to try and push towards my week quota of 10 soups. The French onion was very good - good temp and the flavor was on-point. The MD crab soup was also good with the flavor and temp. Hubby and I came here before noon on a weekday for brunch. We ordered the veggie omelette with provolone cheese ($14), ball buster burger challenge ($36), and refillable glass with pina colada ($10). Total out to approximately $72, not including tip. What's hot - Menu. Breakfast is available before noon, so hubby and I made certain to arrive before then, because I'm a huge fan of breakfast. Aside from breakfast options (such as breakfast burritos, omelettes, etc.), they have a good variety including sandwiches, salads, burgers, a good variety of appetizers, etc... - Quality. Delicious. My veggie omelette was very fluffy and soft. I'm not a fan of thin omelettes and this one did not disappoint. There were a good amount of veggies included. They put the cheese on top of the omelette, instead of inside with the fillings, but oh well.... My omelette came with 2 slices of cantaloupe and a strawberry, in addition to has browns, which was nice. I appreciate having fruit. The hash browns were not greasy, as well. My husband's burger challenge was enormous. The bun was very thick, which makes it difficult to eat. You definitely have to eat the burger challenge in pieces. There's a good amount of fillings, such as tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon. Their waffle fries are well-seasoned, which adds to the flavor. - Service. The staffer for our table was polite, attentive, and helpful, especially in answering any questions we had about the menu. He checked in on us regularly, which was helpful when we needed refills and/or anything extra. - Layout. Their outdoor seating area is a good layout. It does not appear outdoor tables can accommodate more than a group of 4, so be prepared depending on your group. - Price. Pretty good value for money, especially given the portions. What's not - Menu. Because I'm a huge breakfast fan, I would appreciate breakfast being available all day. That I had to pay extra for cheese in my omelette was surprising and disappointing, but it appears to be something that is becoming more common in restaurants. - Layout. There are umbrellas covering the outdoor seating, which is helpful. Towards the end of our meal, it started raining, so the large umbrella covering was helpful. However, part of the umbrella started coming apart. Rain also drips down on to your back, so just something to be aware of. Final answer Worth returning. read more

I did not love this place. It's on the boardwalk and there are not many choices so ended up here. It was really crowded most likely for the reason stated above. The drinks were Very expensive and watered down. I had trouble even finding something i wanted to eat on the menu and figured they probably couldn't ruin the super nachos. Wrong! They were quite nasty and i had a stomach ache after even though i left half on my plate. The french onion soup was a huge disappointment. Don't get that! I just didn't care for the vibe here at all. We've eaten here a few times. Food is mostly ok - with the exception of the beef tacos which were disgusting. The hostess was very low energy and seemed miserable. Stopped in again last night for a drink and sat at the bar. Two bartenders completely ignored us, even though we made sure to make eye contact. It was not at all crowded, yet we sat there for a good 7-8 minutes. A group of 3 came in and sat next to us and one bartender finally came over, only to take their drink order and still completely ignored us. At that moment, we walked out. Returned again this year and it was pretty much the same story. The drinks are the highlight for sure and the food gets the job done. Service is fast and efficient. Have been here numerous times, food is ok, but this morning August 24th at 8:15 am we were greeted by the most miserable hostess I've ever seen. No good morning, no smile and very unpleasant when we requested a table 2 back from where she originally sat us. There were 4 adults and a young child needing a high chair. Very close quarters. What got me was the rolling of her eyes and falling asleep at the table behind her post. Also caught her making a comment about my daughter and a server turned around to look at her. Not a good look at all! If she's hung over don't come in. Hostesses can set the mood. i got the buff burger and it was phenomenal. i have eaten at 7 different places during my trip to ocmd, and the buff burger was by far the #1 thing i had. i requested it rare, and it was perfectly cooked. the flavor and texture of the buffalo dip was good not just by itself, but paired so deliciously with the beef. i'm genuinely upset that i even tried it because i know that i cannot get that burger back home in pennsylvania. my boyfriend got the chicken chesapeake which was also very good. the side of sweet cornbread with jalapeño butter was 10/10 read more

Friend got the challenge, nearly beat in 40 mins. The rest of the food was great and the atmosphere def felt like you were at the beach.

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The food is amazing. Although some may consider it a bit pricey, the portions are definitely worth the price. We not only had dinner but had lunch leftover for the next day. We went during peak dinner hours, and the restaurant was extremely busy. Despite this, we were seated immediately and given the option of which section we wanted to sit in. We chose to go upstairs to the bar area, which still had comfortable seating. The overall vibe was very relaxing. My only complaint would be that the drinks from the bar are very small in comparison to other area bars and restaurants, yet they're the same price or more expensive. Regardless, I highly recommend the Brass Balls Saloon. read more

My friends and I stopped in at brass balls saloon twice this past weekend. Both times we were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. This restaurant has multiple seating areas. They have a cute covered outside patio overlooking the boardwalk and beach, and also extensive bar seating and indoor booths. They offer an extensive food and drink menu. Their crushes were delicious. I loved my fish and chips, the filets were large and the batter was crispy. I'd skip out on the cheese fries as they are just their standard fries with shredded cheese on them. Our server was named dejan. We asked for waters twice and we never received them. It was also extremely hard to flag him down. Although the restaurant seemed busy we often saw him standing at the hostess station staring off into space. He checked in with us once then we never saw him again. The older man at the bar was helpful and our drinks came out quick while seated there. I'd recommend brass balls due to the great location and satisfactory food. The overall atmosphere was fun and our food came out hot and quick. read more

While cruising along the boardwalk on our two-person surrey bike, we took a break for a quick bite. This spot is a great stop toward the end of your ride, and the catchy name pairs well with a fun gift shop for OCMD souvenirs. We got seated right away with a perfect view of the water for people-watching. The servers were friendly and greeted us with smiles. I went with an egg white dish, fresh fruit, and a warm roll. My girlfriend's dish was bigger than expected, which worked out for me. The dense, warm biscuit made for an amazing egg sandwich. Had a good experience there tonight. The ambiance was exactly the same as Shenanigan's on the boardwalk...not as overpowering as a true bar, but not as peaceful as a true restaurant. And, just like Shenanigan's, the floor space is half-bar, half-restaurant. Food was good, beer was good, service was good. Really no negatives, but nothing that knocked my socks off, either. Visited OC this past weekend and wound up coming to BBS every single morning of the trip. It's your standard breakfast foods: omelettes, eggs, pancakes, etc. I enjoyed that the breakfast meals came with cantaloupe, too. -1 because they don't have iced coffee, and it's a bit annoying repeatedly asking for ice. Service was hit or miss. Had a great waitress, Juddy, the first morning. She was on the ball, very intuitive, refilled coffee and brought new ice without asking, brought takeout boxes and bags; we were truly a PITA asking for things, and she was just a pro A+. The third morning we were ignored virtually the entire time by our waiter. I don't recall his name, but he kinda resembled Ron Weasley. We had to get other employees and even a bus boy to track him down because he would just consistently disappear in 10 minute increments. He came around at the end of the meal asking if we "needed anything now" in a very bored tone. He really did not care we were there at all, and was completely uninterested in handling our table. Fantastic food! I ordered the nut & berry salad and received a generous bowl of mixed greens told with loads of strawberries, blueberries & candied walnuts....all topped with real Parmesan cheese . And the raspberry dressing was amazing. ......so good I ordered a second salad to go and Tasso Elba for breakfast the next morning. Husband ordered the turkey Ruben and also loved his!
