I have two young aspiring bakers who had been begging me to learn how to decorate cupcakes. Danielle's food is SO GOOD! I hired her to come cook for my husband and I for his birthday at our Airbnb in San Diego and we loved every minute of it. It was our first time experiencing a personal chef and I'm soo happy we did. Her menu is what caught my eye (and so hard to choose from since there were so many really good ones on there). Chef Danielle went above and beyond for our group. We had the pleasure of booking her for two of the nights we stayed in San Diego. The first night, she curated and prepared one of the most delicious dinners I've had. I am no fan of lamb chops, but I sure ate three that night. I was planning a weekend for my girlfriend's 30th birthday in San Diego and wanted to do something that would be fun and new for us: hiring a private chef. I searched Yelp for chefs with a consistency of great reviews and even interviewed my top three so that I could get a better sense of what they "bring to the table." Ultimately I found one chef that stood out from the rest: Chef Danielle. The first thing I appreciated about Chef Danielle was her responsiveness to e-mails and texts sent to her. She was professional, engaging and extremely patient with me as I went down my list of questions concerning the creation of a dinner menu, dietary restrictions, budget, etc. Chef Danielle was asked to curate a menu that would be flavorful, accommodating to a group of 10 that had various dietary preferences (allergies, vegetarian, etc.), as well as fit within my budget. I asked a lot of her and she met all my needs and truly exceeded my expectations. Our dinner menu consisted of the following: White wine braised collards over creamy black pepper and shallot grits; organic mixed greens, baby arugula, freshly sliced green pears, Gorgonzola, candied pecan crusted cornbread croutons, lemon sweet tea white balsamic vinaigrette Chicken andouille served over fresh linguine Salmon jambalaya served over fresh linguine Southern smothered crispy fried chicken style eggplant Dark chocolate cake with toffee fudge filling and pipped Tiffany Blue ombré rosettes After listing and re-calling the birthday menu, I'm craving it all over again. The food was absolutely fantastic. Every dish had its own unique flavors that made it difficult to want to move on to the next dish. To be honest, with a group of 10 people with varying palates and preferences, I expected to hear some complaints, but there wasn't even one! Wait, there's more... Chef Danielle was supposed to have an assistant with her to serve the food as she began preparation for our next dish and also to clean up the kitchen at the end of the night. The day of our dinner her assistant cancels on Chef Danielle, leaving her to do everything by herself. I was curious to see how she would pull this balancing act off because although I felt really bad about her assistant bailing, I still wanted and expected everything I paid for. I wasn't willing to accept cold food, tasteless food, a dirty kitchen or any excuses for a less than stellar job. What I admire the most about Chef is that she found a way to find a way. She made no excuses because there wasn't a need for any. Every dish was amazing; the cake was devoured; every pot, plate and fork was washed, and the kitchen was spotlessly cleaned. I emailed 4 different chefs to start my research for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Once Chef Danielle contacted me, I immediately stopped communicating with the 3 other chefs. Danielle took our event on, even though she would have a little bundle of joy coming into her life just a few days before our wedding date! Mind you, that I am a Type-A personality, perfectionist, neurotic, a would-be Bridezilla, and am generally very hard to impress. We are two men who were planning a non-traditional union, who work 7 days a week with extremely limited time to meet. We were hosting a very diverse international crowd of guests with multiple dietary restrictions including vegetarians, vegans, and lactose-intolerant individuals--and the majority of our guests are self-proclaimed "food snobs". We could NOT have anything close to a run-of-the-mill-wedding-menu. We wanted creative and diverse array of innovative flavor profiles, and we wanted everything to be served cocktail style. We required something classy and beautiful to the eyes--we wanted absolute aesthetic and taste perfection. And without skipping a beat, Danielle nailed it. Our guests were raving about the food even before the event was over--even before the food service was finished! Danielle was able to adjust most of the menu options for our vegan, vegetarian, and lactose-intolerant guests. Usually, guests with special dietary guidelines always feel left out at an event like this. WOW! This was my first experience in using a personal chef in our home. My wife was so excited when I told her of my idea to hire a chef to host a dinner in our home for her birthday. This was perfect for what we wanted, especially since we had about a dozen guests and wanted to make sure everyone got a little of something they really liked. It was perfect. The individual small plate courses were a perfect fit for our continued conversation during the meal. Everyone loved Chef Danielle and her assistant, Audra (spelling?). Everything was great but if I had to pick some favorites: Avocado soup shooter, spicy beef skewers, hibiscus/orange cupcakes, and her choices in the cheese board (I still have some of the cheese left! Its absolutely a great find... Chef Danielle of Flavor Integrations! This is our first time hiring a chef to help with our thanksgiving dinner. After going through all the reviews in Yelp, we decided to try Chef Danielle. And boy, that was the best decision we made. I didn't have time to prepare the side dishes and appetizers due to workload. And Chef Danielle came to the rescue. Her pumpkin pie is out of this world. My family love all of the side dishes she prepared for us. They can't stop raving about the garlic mash potatoes and stuffing. She's very responsive and great personality. She's a keeper. Amazing dinner! Our friends catered in for their birthday, carrot ginger soup was awesome! Everything perfectly executed. Could Cut The Tri Tip with A fork! I would give it 6 stars if possible. read more
