Food portions were ok, kinda pricy but I'm willing to pay to support black owned businesses. However it to 20-30 to receive our order and had to wait in a line outside of the establishment for the order. It was sunny and hot out. First time there, love the ambiance, portion size was great. I got the oxtail dinner and I couldn't finish it because it was too salty. I was extremely disappointed . The gravy it was in was too salty and it canceled out the taste of the meat. There are so many other "healthy" seasonings than salt to make the food taste better. read more

Smh 2nd experience with this restaurant in years. This is not it food was overly salted, over cooked if this is soul food I truly feel sorry for them souls. Three dinners and one dessert for $72 and the majority went in the trash . Very disappointing . All I can say is: WOW! Walked in and was presented with the menu of the day. Most of the dishes are out in the deli case so you can see them before ordering. I went with the baby back ribs meal and chose the yams for a side. When my order was called I was handed a bag that easily weighed 2 pounds: Smoked ribs, yellow rice, beans, cornbread, and sweet yams. The ribs were heavily smoked with a very savory rub. The smoke and rub flavor penetrated all the way to the bone- much better than some of the other bbq in town. Their sauce is great too- sweet & heat reminds me of Nashville style bbq. Don't sleep on the beans! Those were probably the best side dish I have had in the city (including restaurants that cost twice as much). Perfectly balanced seasonings with smoked pork and a rich base. I couldn't finish my meal as it was so large, so I got to enjoy it again as dinner and attached is a photo. Note: Some of the bad reviews on here are really just people who were screwed over by the food delivery apps. Those apps are shady- they list restaurants without their consent and show menu items that the restaurant doesn't even have that day. They don't have a bathroom and they don't seem to do phone or online orders. If you need those then maybe you should just dine somewhere else. read more

I placed a door dash order and received notification my order was ready for pick up only to arrive and not only it order not ready they aren't "taking doordash orders today" I have never had their food and now I never will. Customer service was definitely lacking, and no apologizes were given for time wasted or for misleading information via door dash. If you want to run a business in the 21st century you should learn how to turn off your internet ordering bc my time and now maybe my money is wasted bc it appears my card was charged for a meal that was never prepared. read more

I am so done with Just Cooking. I ordered a dinner which consisted of yams (and they was full of strings) scalloped potatoes and (they were hard, half done) chicken that was supposed to be baked and tasted like it was boiled. Called and gave my complaint and the lady told me thanks for trying them out and that they do not do refunds. Lol. Only us would give that kind of response.
