Where do I even begin! Having moved out to Long Island from Manhattan I found myself in a sudden dearth of eats. I've found out the hard way that many of the restaurants rated 4-4.5 stars out here would be a 3 or less in Manhattan. Not the least of which is Chinese food! There are so few good asian restaurants out here! But Chef Wang came to my rescue. Big time. Chef Wang is my go to for authentic, well-made Chinese food that is consistent and reliable. And it's reasonably priced too. The place is always packed with people, drawing both a large crowd of Chinese customers (always a good sign) and non-Chinese. It shows how they are able to adapt to both tastes. Not only are their regular dishes delicious, they even have hot pot. Today I tried their sushi - first time eating sushi side-by-side with authentic chinese food. It was not bad! So much do I like their food, when my family visited from China, we came here two days in a row. I'm serious. Lastly I have to say the service is good here. One of my go to spots in the area! Every dish I've tried has been pretty solid. I'm always trying new dishes when I go and I have yet to be disappointed. I've tried fish dishes, chicken dishes, pork, beef and tofu. Haven't had the sushi so can't speak to that. My general go to appetizers are the Pork Dumplings in the Chili sauce. Really love the chili sauce! I just tried the Hunan Chicken dish and Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce and they were both fantastic! It was slightly on the sweet side so may not be for all tastes but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Portions are generous. I always have leftovers! It's a shame we've been here before and enjoyed the food without any complaints. This time we came here for lunch, we started out with the hot and sour soup which was five stars, pan fried dumplings which was 5 stars and then we had the beef and ox tripe which once again was five stars. Now it goes downhill from here, we ordered Kung Pao chicken and rice and Double Sautéed pork belly and rice. After waiting about 15 minutes only the pork belly arrived, 10 minutes after that the chicken arrives still no rice and by now, the pork belly dish was cold while we were waiting . After asking at least two times for the rice it finally arrived. We also had to ask three or four times for hot chili sauce. The problem here as you can read from the other reviews is that the waitstaff isn't good at all, they are all over the place. So I give the service only 2 stars. Now when we finally ate our food the Pork Belly was overcooked and dry and the Kung Pao chicken was so sweet with too much sugar or corn starch that it was difficult to eat. Therefore, I have to give the entrées only two stars. Taking my ratings and averaging them out I come up with 3 stars. For this restaurant to be a five-star restaurant they have to be more consistent, and train the waitstaff. If I do come back it will be for the soup and the hot and cold appetizers only. read more

There are so many dish options here, and the dishes come out quick. The workers are very polite and they will serve you with a smile. We just ordered from Chef Wang for dinner, and we were so impressed! We had the Moo Shu pork, Chicken with garlic sauce, Pork fried dumplings and Vegetable fried rice. It was all excellent. The delivery was fast and the food was still so hot when it arrived. The chicken tasted fresh and not at all rubbery like a lot of other places we have tried.
