    Egg Roll

I've been ordering here for a few years now. And this is the first time I'm posting a review because as soon as we open up our orders, we just start eating! This time I took the time to take pictures first before inhaling our food! Lol I love the flavors of the food. They use enough seasonings to bring out the flavors of the meats & veggies. The ingredients are always fresh and perfect cooked! My favorites are chicken with broccoli, chicken with mixed veggies, beef lo mein, cheese wontons, egg roll and chicken & beef teriyaki. They are always on time either with delivery or pick up. The lady at the counter is always so pleasant and pays close attention to the special notes. I asked for extra duck sauce and she gave me ten! The place is also clean and not noisy. They have a few tables for people to dine in. I love this place!

Chicken w.eggplant in garlic sauce, egg rolls, BBQ spareribs and Hot n Sour soup (complimentary)!

Hing Hing Kitchen has been closed during Covid-19 but just recently reopened! I've been going to Hing Hing Kitchen for a few years now, and had always found the food to be pretty good. (No way is the food as good as the "real" Chinese food in Flushing but for Long Island, it was always decent). However, on this visit, the food was just ok. I found this peculiar since their food had always been consistently good. Well, thanks to fellow Yelp Elite Joel H., Mystery solved: new owners have taken over! Customer service wasn't as good either. I was charged full price for my "complimentary" soup, and the lady at the register never gave me back my change! The change was only about 80 cents, so I let it go. I didn't realize they had also charged me for the free soup until I got home. I'll chalk this up to growing pains, but I really hope they improve! Tonight's dinner: - Hot n Sour Soup: good - Eggrolls: these were actually pretty good, although a little skimpy on filling. - BBQ Spareribs (w.bone): tasty but the entire large order was mostly bones and not very meaty. - Chicken w.eggplant in garlic sauce: this dish was just ok. The eggplant was extremely bland. I think this was due to the pieces being way too big and chunky. In the past, this dish was fantastic; not so much now. I'll probably be back at some point, and will adjust this review accordingly. I really hope they get it together.

A Chinese takeout where I really feel like I have specialized service. Well cooked and not over spiced or saucy food. Shrimps with a bit of "snap" tender beef and chicken make their dishes complete.

Owned by another fantastic Japanese couple where the husband used to deliver the best picks of fresh fish and seafood to award winning and Michelin starred restaurants all across NYC. The space was upgraded a bit and thankfully they still retained the chef who handles the back kitchen and still deliciously creates and beautifully plates all their traditional Japanese hot dishes (please bring back the chawanmushi though!). Menu is a bit more scaled down from what it was but still all delicious and price point for it all is perfect. This spot is worthy enough to come to every day or to LIRR in from the city to eat at. Sad to not see master Kikumatsu at the helm of the sushi bar and Kyoko chan to greet you as you walk in but the new owners are as warm and as great too! Must go repeatedly!

I wonder what made them to treat a customer with careless service. I used to love this place as my favorite Japanese restaurant but not anymore. Seriously? How do places like this stay in business?…read more Plans for a business dinner at about 6:30, I arrived there around 5:30, starving, and asked the manager for a happy hour bar menu. Hoping to have a snack and a beer while I waited and go over the paperwork for our meeting. This seemed to confuse him, but whatever. I sat at the bar and watched the 'waitress' ignore me while doing nothing much. She closed out three tabs for people that didn't ask, poured a beer for someone that also didn't ask, then came out from behind the bar to annoy a guy at a table on his phone and eating. I looked right at her and she averted her eyes. Not even an 'I'll be right with you'. What was this all about? BTW...I was the only woman at the bar....hmmmmm... Ex waitress, bartender, caterer and kitchen manager here. I got up, stopped by the manager sitting at a table doing paperwork, complained succinctly, and walked out. He still seemed confused so I guess that that's his baseline. His purpose there? I have no clue. He needs to train his staff better. Do know that were were only maybe 5 or 6 other people in the entire restaurant at the time. So she lost a bar customer, no big deal, but she also lost 4 people for a business dinner that I moved elsewhere in the mall. Won't be back...

For the kids, we ordered steak with noodles, steak with rice, and a side of noodles. My husband and I ordered the steak and shrimp with fried rice, and the steak and scallops with noodles. Unfortunately, the steak was very dry. It felt like a low-quality cut that hadn't been prepared with care; it was devoid of moisture and had a rubbery, fibrous consistency. Beyond the texture issues, there was zero depth of flavor--it tasted more like it had been steamed than seared on a grill.

The seafood has always been super fresh and picture perfect, made to order every time. Jumping in on one of the all you can eat options is worth it, as it truly gives you an option to try familiar and new items that hopefully become a fan favorite. Cocktail and Drink menu is vast and super tasty whether you opt alcoholic beverages or non. Dessert menu is limited, but after eating all you can of the menu I suppose room in the tummy is limited. Could be nice though to have a few more small bite options outside of an ice cream cup. Purchasing a Groupon to discount your final bill is super easy, and easy to hit minimal required total after ordering an adult beverage or two. Opted to celebrate my NYE Birthday here this past year for my first try and came back again recently for Mother's Day Unisex restrooms are kept neat and there is at least (the first) one with a baby changing table.
