I suggested Taste of Chengdu because my best friend's daughter had been craving xiao long bao. She decided to go there to celebrate her pre-birthday lunch today. The drive from Queens took about 30 minutes. FYI, the restaurant had a parking lot. I wanted to try the Dancing Blue Crab Shumai, but our server couldn't tell me what was in it. Our server left a bad impression due to poor customer service. Drinks Barone Fini Pinot Grigio Sangaria Ramune Lychee Food *sharing is caring* Sweet Filling Fried Dumplings (3) - The hot and sweet black sesame filling oozed out of the crispy sesame ball after my first bite. One word: Scrumptious Pork Soup Dumpling (6) Pan Fried Pork Bun (3) Hot Sauce Fish 水煮魚 (Less Spicy) - The fish fillet in the aromatic, spicy broth was flavorful. Chicken Lo Mein (No Carrots) - The chicken lo mein with vegetables was delicious.

What a lovely surprise that's tucked away! Came upon this place while exploring the area. Went on a Wednesday night and was attended right away. Great and attentive service. The food was fresh and loved the jasmine tea recommendation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was so pretty too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]Definitely would come back!

for a sense how this leaked, and poorly packed.

This looked so promising, I'd really wish try dine-in and I think will be much better. Unfortunately, this review is for DoorDash delivery. Problems: - no chopsticks, but a ten year supply of soy sauce and duck sauce packets (enough to open a restaurant), and not even needed for what was ordered. - chicken black bean sauce (lunch special) was plated on top of rice which absorbed all the sauce. Please don't do this. It's a restaurant not a food cart. Taste was mediocre at best. - mapo tofu (lunch special) tasty, but no ground pepper or pepper corn (the dine-in pics are different btw) - hot & sour soup containers (pretty good btw) was packed and placed on top of thin plastic lid to the chicken crushing the lid beneath, sauce for chicken (and mapo), spilled out and all over like a "shake n bake" commercial with all containers now well coated and covered with sauce. * I'd been place nearly same name (dine-in) in Seattle and that was a stellar 5 star review. Also been Chengdu a few times, but that wasn't an option. * I hope to revise this review if I ever get to dine-in, and not want to harshly penalize the kitchen and staff when they have so little control over deliveries. They prolly need to find a better way to make the delivery or takeout options work.

Beef dry pot was a great symphony of savory, spicy, hint of sweet along with just some touch right of wok flavor.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Spacious table setups, clean and very strong air conditioning. Our server was a nice soft-spoken, patient glass-wearing college student -like young man. Food Our favorite was spicy crispy fish fillet. Hot level, sodium level and crispy level were all just perfect for an entire family to enjoy. I loved NO MSG taste and not oily! An absolutely beautiful dish! Beef dry pot with variety of veggies, such as FRESH bamboo roots, lotus, bell peppers, FRESH mushrooms, onions, leeks, was full of flavorful as well. It was like a great symphony of savory, spicy, hint of sweet, barely noticeable of numbness along with just some touch of wok flavor. Crab pork dumplings were not their strength. I believe that if they make Cheng Du style Baos would be a huge hit. The last but not the least is making sure to bag all those fried red chili peppers to go! Do NOT leave them behind. Because those are the REAL treasures!!! They make you many authentic Si Chuan dishes at home! Do like any REAL Cheng Du people or Chong Qing people do in China! A fairly authentic SiChuan restaurant. I will definitely bring my friends here. And yes, I would choose it over Chef Wang on some dishes. However, don't do Uber Eats, the price becomes instantly ridiculous. Chef Wang s Uber Eats price is the most sensible one.

Ordered a bunch of stuff for pickup to try: Lo mein, general Tso chicken, wonton soup and the pork fried rice. Everything was SO delicious and fresh. The portions were also very sizable. The staff was so friendly and the food was ready so quickly. The restaurant itself is quite massive and clean. This is a great Chinese restaurant. I'll definitely be back!

Food is good, more spicy than normal Chinese cuisine. Might try again because it is hard to find good Asian cuisine in Franklin square

Food was good but the young waiter looked disinterested and unprofessional. I give the food 4 stars and the service 2 stars.

Is the whole grilled fish REALLy grilled or it is deep fried? Thank you.

Is Cheng Du open again for dine in?

    Yep

This may be a dumb question since this is a Sichuan place, but how spicy is the 3 cup chicken? I've heard it's a great dish, but I take can't extremely spicy things. Is it extremely spicy, or on the milder side?

I haven't had the three cup chicken but I went with a larger group and they were very accommodating in making spicier dishes mild for us.

Do they offer alcohol here or is it BYOB?

They have awesome cocktails, beer, and wine!

I ordered a number of different dishes to get a feel for the place, as well as feed the family. The order: walovi/Wanglaoji (can of tea served cold) Scallion Pancakes, Lychee Shrimp Balls, Beef Soup with hand pulled noodles, special dumplings, Mashed Cucumber salad, sausage, and stir fried beef noodles. Overall the food was amazing 9.5/10 The entire meal was delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the dishes full of flavor. The Leychee shrimp balls were excellent, the mashed cucumber salad was refreshing and full of flavor. All the dishes were seasoned well, the special dumplings were a little over seasoned and thus the 9.5 instead of a perfect 10. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

From the moment you walk in, the entire team is welcoming and warm, but Tiffany truly stands out. She is gracious, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful--someone who remembers you and makes you feel like more than just a table. Tonight, when things slowed down a bit, we had the chance to catch up and share a few laughs, which made the evening feel even more special. As for the food, it was just as impressive. I had the twin lobster with ginger and scallion over E-Fu noodles--rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My husband ordered his usual--eggs with mixed vegetables--which isn't on the menu, but they always accommodate when possible. He thoroughly enjoyed it, as he always does. Fresh, delicious food paired with standout, heartfelt service is exactly why we keep coming back. This place has truly become one of our regular favorites.

Dimsum is adequate. Not as good as the dimsum place in Flushing, but not horrible. The taro crescent is good. Raddish cake is also good along with the young chow fried rice. The soy sauce in the rice roll is a bit too sweet. Shrimp in the shrimp dumpling lacks flavor. Overall, I will come here if I live around here.
