Reminds me of the order of Dry Fry Chicken from Han Dynasty in the city. Their fried green beans with ground pork was also good. I thought the green beans were a bit too soft for my taste (I prefer the ones at Han Dynasty) but my husband loves the ones at Chef Wang's better. We ordered beef lo mein, which was typical of all Chinese food restaurants. All in all we really enjoyed our meal. Huge portions even for delivery. We look forward to going to eat in person one day soon In Conclusion: I would ask them to make the green beans a bit crunchier... but other than that I would 10/10 recommend this spot. Just an update- We've been eating at Chef Wang's for years now and I thought we tried everything on the menu, however it seems the best dish they serve is not on the takeout menu! We ordered their cumin ribs (not just the lamb/beef) for the first time recently. I cannot emphasize how great this is - not just great for the area, but it is as good or superior to the exclusively dongbei/xinjiang style joints across Queens, even perhaps the venerable Fu Run in flushing (RIP). I saw a YouTube touting this restaurant. I read reviews on Yelp and people said they were obsessed with this restaurant and my gal pal was happy with her take out for seafood pan fried noodles. I guess I could give it a try. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean, spacious and quiet. The restaurant served Chinese and sushi dishes. They have a good takeout business. I saw four orders for pickup. For drinks I ordered a Johnnie walker black label scotch and it was watered down. It didn't have that amber color that I was accustomed to. My gal pal a sea breeze and that drink was very weak. The food was below average. I was very disappointed. We ordered the mango chicken wings and an eel avocado roll. The eel avocado roll was poorly made. The roll was falling apart when I dipped in soy sauce. The chicken wings were hot and crispy with the mango chunks on the side. Mango was hard and tasteless. Why was the mango on the dish I have no idea. We next ordered the seafood pan fried noodles and there was no crisp with the noodles. The noodles were soft and drowning in a thin sauce. This place is pretty large inside and has a cool indoor set up. We had reservations and were quickly sat down. We had the hot tea to start which was great. I had the egg drop wanton soup which was perfect. It had two medium sized wantons. It was the perfect size with a perfect amount of egg. I then had the chicken with mixed vegetables with a side of brown rice. There was a right amount of chicken with the perfect amount of sauce. The array of vegetables was perfect. There was broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, baby Chinese corn, water crests. It was a great sized portion. The service was great and our waiter Kevin took care of us. The price was right and free fresh oranges are given out after the meal. They have a small parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking. Check this place out. read more

Chef Wang has its own lot making parking easy and once you go inside that's when you realize just how big the restaurant actually is. I was quickly greeted and seated. The decor is authentic and clean. Restaurant is probably over staffed but that just means a waiter is always ready to assist. I ordered a fried rice, mei fun and spicy prawns. My bill came up to $80. I have been to this location numerous times with my family. I made a reservation tonight for Christmas dinner and upon arrival the host told me she doesn't know if we could be seated because they were packed?! I called 3 hrs prior to speak with someone and confirmed my reservation. She had me, my little boy and husband waiting while everyone else who had 6:30pm reservations just like us were able to sit and eat with their families. After waiting 30 minutes she then proceeds to tell my family and I that we cannot dine in their restaurants because I had no reservation! Absolutely unreal! I visited Grubhub and ordered the lunch special General Tso Chicken and brown rice with miso soup ($8.75) plus the delivery fee, service fee, tax and tip. Order went smoothly but delivery took awhile. It was definitely a lot of food to feed for two. In my case, I had it for lunch and dinner. Food was served and fresh. For health safety purposes I transferred a portion a plate and heated it up more. Overall, the quality of food was very good. Chef Wang has delicious food but some pretty high prices. The ambiance inside is very nice for a sit down lunch or dinner. It is traditional Chinese interior. The food is good not amazing but good. I'd recommend them over any other local Chinese spot but it doesn't compare to some of the greats close to the city. Pair whatever you get with the spicy hot oil and enjoy! Ordered the Tokyo Roll ($8.50) and the Chicken Lo Mein ($11). The Tokyo Roll is smaller than expected, a mishmash of some fish and rice and no spicy mayo to speak of. Overall okay but nothing more than a basic roll. The lo.mein is a dense box filled with thick noodle, chicken, and some nominal veggies. The noodles themselves are very greasy, and there could have been more chicken pieces. Needed plenty of liquids to cut the grease towards the end. Chef Wang is one of the best for authentic gourmet Chinese food. I have been there so many times because the food is awesome. Very tasty! It keeps calling me back in. I even took my friends from Florida to Chef Wang for a nice lunch for four people. The atmosphere is welcoming, very calm and collected. The service is excellent. The waiters are polite and of service. The restaurant is clean. The furniture and setting give you a feel of family dining room style. And, there are also booths which give a private interaction for two. Very cozy for couples. With experience, I normally order big plates, each person takes at their leisure. We ordered takeout , and everything from the dumplings (glass shrimp, juicy pork dumplings, Sichuan spicy pork) to the soup (wonton) to the main courses were great - one could tell they used quality ingredients. The sushi was really good as well - I had the crazy salmon roll which was not overloaded with rice but had almost enough salmon to stand as a meal itself, and it tasted very fresh. This restaurant has the better Chinese food in this area. However, it's confusing to say what they specialize in exactly since they seem to serve a variety of different dishes, and even sushi. They have great service and the staff is very kind to make sure that your meal is satisfying. It's not the best Chinese food but it's still pretty good. Their dishes are very saucy so I definitely recommend eating them with rice or you'd end up drinking a lot of water. The diced chicken puffed pastry is a must get! I always get it when I come. The chicken is so crispy and it's cooked with chili peppers that are so fried that it's edible. The mapo tofu is also really good from here. The soups are pretty thick though. The sushi isn't as recommended from here since I think they specialize more in their Chinese foods. I've also ordered lunch specials from here before which are better than the typical Chinese take outs that you would find around but still has that Chinese takeout taste. Chef Wang is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. They have both American Chinese cuisine as well as more traditional dishes as well. They are always attentive to our customizations particularly my daughter's egg allergies. We especially enjoy the mooshoo pork with wraps, their mei fun dishes, young chow fried rice, and chow fun dishes. The restaurant is located across the street from Applebees on Jericho (near NHP memorial high school). Didn't want to risk COvid going to Flushing or Chinatown for noodles. Flavorful and spicy, not overly salty. Good portion size and authentic! Took out on 12/24 around 3pm. The place had orders lined up despite being after lunch and before dinner which proves the quality of the food. They're currently open for indoor dining as of 12/24. I check on Yelp and I remembered Frankie had a ROTD for this place so I set a course for Chef Wang. I pull into a small private lot. Chef Wang is like an oasis on a busy street. Walking inside, its set up like a Japanese garden. Tastefully decorated, I almost feel I've entered someone's home. I quickly ordered a Tsingtao beer and my go to Chinese food dish: Hot & Sour soup and my entree is General Tso's Chicken with brown rice. The H&S comes to me, man this is some good soup. There's lots of stuff happening in this brown broth. Lots of fresh chunky tofu and veggies. It's bringing some spicy heat which is why it's my favorite, go to soup. The General Tso's Chicken entree was cooked perfectly. I hate an overbattered mess. Chef Wang isn't messing around, the General Tso's Chicken was on point. Lightly fried and when you toss it around with chili peppers makes wanna salute. This is my favorite dish and Chef Wang made my dinner tonight like an officer and a gentleman. read more

Relative to everything else in a 15 minute drive radius, the food is the best you will find if you live in New hyde Park, garden city park or the western part of garden city. Found this gem on yelp after searching for a place for lunch after getting a car wash. Glad we came here. They have a parking lot which is great and the decor was so cute. Didn't feel like we were in a Chinese restaurant. They had a great lunch specials menu that you can order from on the weekends and plenty of seating for everyone. The workers were so nice and spoke English. The appetizers we ordered were soup dumplings and scallion pancakes. It took awhile to come out. It was decent for LI but I had better tasting ones in flushing but how can you compare. The scallion pancake sauce was pretty good tho. We ordered hunan beef, and beef with mushroom and bok choy. The flavors were good. Hunan beef had a tiny kick to it. Got a side of hot oil which tasted pretty good but not really spicy. Would definitely come back here again for lunch or dinner. This is such an UNDERRATED restaurant in Long Island and I'm SO MAD that I've never been here before. My sister came here a few weeks ago and brought my family here for my birthday dinner. We ordered a kani salad and 3 ORDERS of soup dumplings for 5 people. Not one dumpling was spared. A great alternative to Joe's Shanghai for Long Islanders We ordered Lotus root, Hong Kong noodles, cheng du fish, three pepper chicken and hot chili oil beef and let me tell you each one was better than the next. The dishes were also MASSIVE so order accordingly. I personally really really enjoyed the noodles, lotus root and chicken which says a lot because I normally hate chicken, noodles and lotus root. Fish and Beef were amazing too- I'm just telling you my faves. I got hot sake as well and it was strong and hard to drink because I'm not a huge sake person unless it's in beer, but it was still good. I also made the mistake of ordering their sticky rice, assuming that it would be sticky rice - rice that is sticky and stuck to other pieces of rice- right? After a little hiatus since my last disappointing visit to Chef Wang's, I am happy to say that they've redeemed themselves! Service was fantastic; Food was fantastic! This was the shared menu for 5 people: ~ Cumin Lamb - this dish was just ok. I wasn't fond of the little pieces of lamb and the abundance of filler veggies in this dish. ~ Steamed Flounder (no bones) - this was great! Really interesting menu and not your typical Chinese restaurant decor except for the pond at the entrance. The menu has some items that required googling. We wanted to get the pork buns but were told it would take 40 minutes so we got the pork dumplings instead. They were okay. The scallion pancakes were amazing and we loved the sauce which managed to help out the pork dumplings. We also got the pizza sandwich which was yummy. For entrees we got curry chicken, sesame chicken(crunchy and juicy), Mongolian beef(very tender) and the Peking pork chops. We loved all except the pork chops which were too saucy and by the time we got them we were already full. Service was ok although she took a long time to take our dinner order(we could have ordered the pork buns ) All in all I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone has been talking about Chef Wang, so my wife and I decided to give it a try especially since we live in the same town. We arrived on a Wednesday night, were greeted and seated immediately. For drinks we each had a Zombie, awesome. For dinner we shared 2 entrees, Mu Shu Pork with 4 pancakes and Sesame Chicken. The Mu Shu Pork was good, however the pancakes were a little thin, hard to wrap, the Sesame Chicken was great, crispy and tasty with just enough spice. The service was great, friendly and efficient and the décor was nicely renovated. I could tell because I remember the last few restaurant establishments so I can see the improvement.
