I had the carne guisada which the server recommended and let me tell you it was delicious so tender and the gravy was on point. If your a fan of "Ben's original orange rice" ... this is the place! If you like Calidad tortilla chips ... this is the place! But only order them after noon, they charge for them before noon. Why? If you're a fan of thin, watered down, queso blanco ( to go with your commercial chips)... this is the place! The refried beans had a distinct fish flavor. Guessing they have a dual use skillet. I love Chili Rellenos. When Chelo's opened several years back I would order some to go after eating some there, so good. My experience today found them to have a very thin, burnt, blackened, coating. They apparently use the same queso blanco as filling, sad! As with all good things, it much come to an end. If you want all the quality but without all the bells and whistles, fanfare, traffic, and high prices of the fancy pants Mexican restaurants in town, you are better off stopping in here. I've been twice now and it never disappoints. On this latest visit we ordered the veggie quesadilla and the enchiladas Bandera style with all three sauces to make it look like the Mexican flag. Everything was cooked flawlessly and tasted delicious. With their chips and salsa they also provide another sauce that's more orange in color, tangy in flavor, and less spicy. It's unique and delicious! But a fair warning: the chips aren't endless. Any additional baskets cost $4. I get it. Anyways, it will help keep me from gorging myself as always. Service has always been great and prices are much more reasonable than the trendy places in town. This is a cute restaurant hidden in Wolfforth. When you walk in, it definitely feels authentic. I think the prices are fair. The food did not amaze me though. I thought it was average and I finished it, but I don't think it was good enough to come back. The workers were friendly. Two of my major complaints has that it took a long time to get my order. This could be a good sign because it means all the food is made fresh and hot. But it definitely took longer than expected, especially since the restaurant was empty, and I was the only customer. We found this place not far from our house and decided to try it. We were so glad that we did! Service is friendly, fast, and professional. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome in their nicely decorated, but casual environment. Plenty of festive music, it not too loud. Chips and salsa are very good, and they usually bring two different kinds of salsa. We've only had the fajitas, but they are really good! Good cuts of chicken, tons of vegetables, all perfectly cooked. Also plenty of food for two people to share, and at a reasonable price. Will be regular customers, for sure! read more

I freaking love this restaurant! I grew up around Odessa, Texas, so I was a little spoiled when it comes to Mexican food. Lubbock has some nice places, but I've never found "the one," until NOW! I love the menudo, the tacos-tripa for me, and carnitas and bistec for my husband...the queso blanco, all the salsas. The only thing I don't like is all the running I'm going to have to do to work off all the calories I consume! PS-The staff is awesome and super helpful. The best street tacos we have had this side of Austin. If you order the party portion, they cleverly arrange a whole box with sides and chips for you. I will try other things on their menu, but I can't get enough of the street tacos. Not heavily sauced, not overly seasoned with chili-powder. Just flavorful meat and corn tortilla with fresh herbs and vegetables. The sides, salsa, and queso all prove they belong as well with their deep flavors. They know what they are doing here. We had to wait for a table which we didn't mind. The food was excellent as well as the service. We would be regular customers at this establishment except for being overcharged dinner prices at lunch. If a patron orders fajitas and there's a difference in portion, the server should ask if we want the lunch or dinner portion especially when ordering from the lunch menu. We were charged 12.99 each for 9.99 lunch fajitas plus an up charge for subbing beans for rice. Very disappointing as we would love to go back if they could be trusted. read more

If there's a better street taco in Lubbock Texas I haven't found it yet. So I walk into restaurant and it says wait to be seated...I wait. Two guys walk in shortly after me and are greeted warmly. I have yet to be remotely acknowledged or even glanced at despite standing right next to the men she greeted. She immediately cleared two tables and I got excited, only to seat those two men. Here I am staring at this immaculately cleaned COVID free table, only to be passed by without acknowledgement again. I should have realized when i called and everything I ordered was questioned that it was not going to be a good sign. Upon picking up the food I questioned the amount of chips and asked for more. They said I had to pay for more chips and salsa! (I didn't know they charged for this) I counted the meals and noticed I was missing one. The lady who had taken my order argued and said it was all there. NOPE! Finally got the final meal and got home and it was all wrong. Ground beef chimichanga was fajita meat filled with vegetables and a big hunk of tomato. Kids chicken fajita quesadilla only had shredded chicken(not chicken fajita) and no cheese.
