(It wasn't even a labeled exit) at 3 o'clock in the morning. I called AAA and they sent the nicest Christ-like man you've ever met in your life. He immediately put us in his big safe tow truck, hooked up my car and towed it home with all our suitcases since we were returning from a trip. He was incredibly nice and he actually looked at the lights that had come on in my car to help me figure out what my next step was and how to get it fixed. We were in a very dangerous spot in the freeway, and he came and saved us. I think the technicians name was Ruben. We have had them come to our house before for dead batteries and such and they've always been very helpful. Thank God there are hard-working men that you can call for help at 2:30am (a very dangerous time to be out driving because I'm drunk drivers who have a tendency to swipe cars parked on the side of the freeway!) and they show up with the right equipment and they know what they're doing. After going off-roading in Fawnskin, our car died deep in the woods--truly the middle of nowhere. We called AAA, who sent Kevin from A-Performance Towing, and he arrived quickly. He immediately diagnosed the issue and assured us it wasn't the alternator, as I had suspected. With it being a holiday weekend, only one shop was open, and Kevin recommended we tow it there. He was right--our battery was completely done. An hour later, with a new one installed, we were back on the road. Feeling confident, we went off-roading again... and four hours later, the truck stalled again. AAA dispatched A-Performance Towing once more. We were much farther up the mountain this time, and my signal was so spotty that my location was pinging miles away. The owner, Corey, personally called me, knew the trails well, and still managed to find us. He navigated rough terrain, got us safely out, and provided incredibly helpful insight. It was clear the issue was more serious than a battery. Corey recommended towing to a dealership since no local shop could likely diagnose it over the holiday weekend. He even called the Dodge dealership in Moreno Valley himself to coordinate and make sure we could speak directly with the service manager. The level of professionalism was truly outstanding. This morning, their driver Reyes towed my truck to the dealership and was an absolute pleasure to work with--friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Most people don't expect exceptional service from towing companies, but A-Performance Towing is in a league of its own.
