I hurt my lower back middle of last year from going a bit too hard in the gym. It was probably from a deadlift set I was rushing to finish. One day I woke up and couldn't move my head to the left, so I looked up the nearest chiropractor in the book, and it was Dr. Lee. What luck! She is an absolutely perfect doctor- approachable, sweet, and no-nonsense. Sometimes due to the nature of the work I do she and her assistant Shannon might be the only people I talk to in the course of my 8 hour day. Her office is has open adjustment policy- you just walk in and flop on one of the adjustment tables (orange, my favorite color) at your appointment time, and 20 minutes later you float out the door. Since I became a patient here I have regained mobility in my neck, and noted significant improvements in my back that I hadn't realized needed fixing. I have a long, but spotty history with chiropractors, mainly from years of abusing my body through extreme sports (rugby, long distance running) and by being a crappy driver when I was an idiotic teenager (2 rollovers and multiple hitting into things) . Recently myy troubles emerge from working as a desk potato who does nothing but sit on my tookis all day every day typing typing and yakking on the phone, which might well be the most dangerous activity of all. I am not the type just to wander in to one because it's good for my health. I had to be SENT by a doctor after something stopped working. I find chirorpractors fit into three categories: 1.) crazy, macho people who don't try to read your body, but instead try to snap your head off, and crack everything they can get their hands on. 2.) silly hippies who want to rub you with pachouli and promise the world from an adjustment. 3.) those who know how to find spine alignments and fix 'em up, without promising miracles. I had spent YEARS suffering a variety of both back and neck pain. I had also spent years terrified that going to the chiropractor would result in me spending life in a wheel chair. I started seeing Dr Lee two months ago for pain and tension in my lower back and since then I've experienced a ton of improvement. For my treatment, Dr Lee has focused largely on aligning my hips and lower back. Since I've seen her, I've had a marked improvement in hip flexibility and mobility. I can do a full split on my left and my chest touches my thighs in a pike! As a dancer, I've stretched my whole life, but I've never seen such crazy improvements in flexibility until now. I also have NO MORE lower back pains despite sitting 8h/day at a desk job. And dare I say it, I have no more period cramps (girls you know what a miracle this is)! My back has truly never felt better! Dr Lee is extremely knowledgeable and knows what she's doing. just by touching you, she knows exactly when, where and what your body needs. I'm an avid dancer and at every session, she can recite back to me all the falls my body had taken for the week just by touching it. It is also easy to schedule adjustments - no waiting for weeks to be seen. Dr Lee usually can fit you in right away. While I have loved my positive experience with Dr Lee, I am considering another clinic once I am done with my package. This is because Dr Lee's adjustments are 15 min long and usually she only adjusts one or two things (sometimes your whole session is only 5 min). For that, the prices she charges really add up. Also Dr Lee is an expert on bones, unfortunately, she doesn't do any complementary muscular work. I had a dislocated rib and visited her clinic 4x in 2 weeks for adjustments but to no avail. I was in so much pain and distress, even lying in bed and breathing hurt. A friend suggested that I see a chiropractor who did ART therapy to loosen the muscles around my rib so the muscles would stop pulling the rib out of place. I ended up seeing an ART practitioner in Alameda and he was amazing. He spent my session alternating between massage, realignment and adjustments. It was a very thorough session and by the end of it, he pretty much cured me. I was even able to go to the gym the next day!! As their prices are comparable, I felt this particular doctor provided a more thorough one-on-one service and gave me faster results. In short, Dr Lee does truly amazing work and is a wonderful person and chiropractor. She will literally change your life. However, if you can't afford constant adjustments, or if you may also need someone who does ART therapy, you might want to explore other options. read more

Years ago I saw a Chiropractor steadily for a few months and didn't have a good experience at all; I basically swore off ever seeing a chiropractor again. However in April I was in a bad car accident and, after weeks of trying to just deal with the pain, I finally gave in and decided that I would try seeing a chiropractor again. After seeing her positive reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment with Dr. Lee. I very rarely write reviews, but I have to in this case. I can easily say that Dr. Lee is not just an amazing Chiropractor, but also the best medical professional I have ever seen. She truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond in order to help them feel their best. The Chiropractor that I saw in the past would hardly spend any time with me and, even though I wasn't getting any better, wouldn't try anything different; whereas with Dr. Lee, it's so obvious that she really wants to "fix" your problem areas. [PLEASE READ] Since December 2011 I was paralyzed and lost use of both my legs. For over one month I resided in the hospital with no certain diagnosis or help other than a handful of painkillers and medication to mask my pain. While in the hospital and in rehabilitation home I was urged not to get surgery then to get surgery now the hospital wants me in there as soon as possible so they can operate. Going back and forth based on the doctors decision I was referred to Dr.Lee at first I was a bit scared Bc the only thing my previous chiropractor did for me was heat my back and put me on a retraction machine. My pain and mobility for one month with my previous chiropractor remained the same. I am a larger guy 6'2", around 220 give or take a few. I spend the bulk of my time lifting and cutting/ working at a butcher shop. Needless to say I don't always practice safe lifting and body mechanics. Well, I threw out my back quite severely a week ago. Spasms and shooting pain. I called lee chiropractic, and was beyond pleasantly surprised. Dr.Lee was able to see me half an hour after my first call. I arrived at the office (plenty of parking), was greeted kindly right off the bat and was helped through the admission forms (right arm wasn't quite working due to back). After a health history and general review of my health, Dr. Lee adjusted me a few times and violAà, I could stand up straight, breath and walk with comfort.
