    a pile of fried chicken

This is THE best place for fried chicken. We've been coming here for years and this place never ever disappoints. I love my fried chicken and definitely know my fried chicken, especially Korean fried chicken and this place is legit. The key to eat their chicken in their store at its freshest and get their whole chicken with the spicy yang nyum sauce on the side. This way the skin stays crispy. You dip the chicken in the spicy and savory sauce right before you put all that goodness inside your mouth. Oh so delicious and heavenly! Their chicken is good even without any sauce and arrives pipping hot with loads of flavor and juice inside and extra crispy on the outside. And the best part, it is NOT greasy! You can literally eat like 10 pieces and not feel greased out like some other fried chicken. I cannot say anything about their pizza but remember I tried it before and didn't like it much. Stay with the fried chicken here folks!!!! Their garlic wings are also amazing and drenched in this amazing garlicky sauce!! Service is also on point and friendly. Prices is amazing! We ordered 2.5 half chicken, 16 pieces of garlic wings, one whole pitcher of beer, sauces on the side and our order came with radish pickles and salad and it was at a fraction of the price some other places charge. Hands down the best! Highly highly recommend this place!!!

My quest to find the best Korean fried chicken continues and this place happens to be a place I've had my eye on for some time. Order the bacon jalapeno pizza and 16 piece wings and can say everything here was relatively unmemorable. Pizza was okay but felt like it was lacking in topping , cheese pull was pretty amazing though. The fried chicken was the less impressive of the two unfortunately. It wasn't all the crispy and the sauce was just okay at best. A very average place in an area where the competition is extremely high would do well in other places just not here in my opinion

We stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday and there were only a couple other diners present. There were only a few tables and the vibe was dark and quiet. We ordered the korean fried chicken wings and pizza combo with different sauces and toppings. The complementary cabbage was appetizing and appreciated. The Yang-Nyum Chicken wings were sweet and not too spicy. The regular fried chicken was good but a little plain. We got a half Bulgogi and half bacon jalapeno pizza, which tasted great when it was fresh. The crust however seemed like frozen pizza crust, which wasn't too surprising. Overall a decent meal but probably won't be returning as there are tons of other Korean fried chicken spots nearby.

Arrived here for dinner. Decided to go with the pizza combination. Cost around $45 and it includes 12 inch pizza, half fried and half marinated chicken and 3 soda cans. Really enjoyed ourselves with the salad, radish and popcorn on the side. They provide you with hot sauce. I haven't been here for a long time, but the foods still great. Service is great too. I do think there might be msg in their foods because immediately after I felt drowsy and thirsty. Had to take a nice walk and hydrate!

My go-to spot whenever I am craving Korean-style peeeeza. We came around 8:30pm on a Sunday night and were seated immediately. There was a larger party in the back and another table of two so not crowded at all. The service whenever I go is super nice. We ordered a half and half pizza - bulgogi & shrimp garlic and some sweet yangnyum wings. Both were DELISH and we didn't feel overly full even though we didn't finish everything. Pizza wasn't too oily and wings were saucy. I like the ambiance here because it's dark and not too loud with the music. Their hours are also pretty late so perfect for munchies. Definitely recommend coming here if you're craving Korean chicken or pizza.

This. Freakin'. Pizza! I don't care what anyone says, it was so BOMB. Look at it. It's beautiful. Pair it up with some soju & beer for perfection. I already know I will be craving this on many nights. They have a lot of awesome combos on the menu. The server was sweet, kind & attentive.

I'll come right out and say that their fried chicken was legit! Sure, the name spells a bit funny and the dark, industrial interior took some getting used to, but I repeat: their yangneum (spelling?) chicken is on fire! I also liked that the radish was chilled, and the salad, despite my reservation about the pickle relish, was pretty much a crunchy, crispy, sweet perfection. Service was fine and we left with full and happy bellies.

Cheo God Zip is very underrated and I felt the need to set the curve. So here's 5-Stars. Quality food and service is clearly drawn out. When the local business owners understand the importance of this, they tend to have a very healthy, steady business and the customers witness that. Cheo God Zip is one of them. This is me and my friends' go-to chicken spot, and the affordability? It just tops everything off like a hot chocolate fudge to a sundae. Or salt to tequila. Or whatever! Me and my friends don't even drink! Do I need to repeat myself? This place sells legit Korean chicken! (Verified by Korean, writer herself.) Recommended: Combination! of Yang-Nyum (marinated) chicken, a selection of pizza, fries with drinks. And it's affordable. You'll eat till you unbutton. A party of 8 came in on a Tuesday night for a birthday celebration. It was quite last minute, but with the waiter's sixth sense and generosity, we were able to pull a nice surprise. I tried to give the waiter a call ahead, but.. he didn't need it. Me: "Hi, there should be a girl with purple sweater.. and a blond hair girl..." Waiter: "Yes, they are here and I have everything ready for you." Jeez, ok. Bottom line: - Pulled off a nice surprise - Food tastes amazing and what in the world... 4 guys 4 girls bellies full. - Affordable = more to order = on the house dishes! = yay! Definitely, highly recommended and everyone in our party was delighted to come back. Many props and kudos for quality food and service! This is what drives business and makes customers come back. With the price comfortable for dine-in. (You know you understand what I'm saying because I know you've ordered togo from other competitive places before and that was cause the price is no bueno.) Anyway, just go. Try the marinated chicken. Be delighted. And come back for more. Guaranteed.

My friend ordered a pizza for takeout. The pizza was different than any pizza I've ever had before. It was half bulgogi and half sweet potato. The flavors are very interesting and compliment each other. I like that the pizza isn't super salty like American chain pizzas. It felt a lot healthier and less fattening. All in all it was alright. Not mind-blowing, but it was good and filled me up.

Disappointing. Their pizza crust has the same strange aftertaste you get from supermarket frozen food such as bagel bites. Paid extra for the angus beef topping, it arrived with a small sprinkle of meat that simply wasn't satisfying in flavor. Also ordered their fried chicken and mild yang-nyum chicken - for both, the flavor did not go deeper than surface level. After the skin, the rest of the wing will taste painfully bland and unseasoned. I wish I could take back this entire meal, which is not something I say often. Would not recommend, I would sooner get my Korean fried chicken fix from chains such as Bonchon or even Pelicana Chicken. With superior independent businesses entering the same market on Northern Blvd, they need to do better to match the competition.

Obviously, they don't know how to make a pizza. WORST PIZZA I EVER HAD. Crust was thick as hell, ingredients were almost raw.

I was recommended to go to Cheogod Zip Chicken Pizza by my Korean friend after a long day. I was excited since before my experience here I've never had Korean pizza before. Even though I've heard mixed opinions regarding Korean pizza, I also know the Murray Hill area to have small, lesser known restaurants that are hidden gems. The waiters speak both English and Korean, which was super useful because 3/5 of my group weren't Korean. They were very polite and accommodated our every need, although they didn't come around and make rounds that frequently. We ordered two pizzas and two whole chickens, one spicy and one not. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The flavors of the pizza weren't the conventional flavors of a New York slice I was accustomed with, but that's what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by the unique flavor profile that fused sweet and savory in a way I didn't think was possible. The chicken was very flavorful and had my friends not been just as hungry as I was, I would have demolished both chickens by myself as well as every chicken in the room. However I will nitpick about one small thing: the spicy flavor was not nearly as spicy as I was looking for. It tasted like spice was building up a little bit, and was trying to be spicy, but just as it started to rise it came down just as quick and didn't come close to hitting the spice level I was expecting out of a Korean place. Also, don't forget about the Korean style coleslaw like salad (sorry I don't know the exact name). It featured a classic mixture of ketchup and mayo, and was so delicious. My Korean friend told me it was meant to be eaten with the chicken as a sort of palette cleanser, but I had no self control and ate half of it before the chickens were even slaughtered. I went off on a tangent but tldr: this place is great and reasonably priced, and has very few weak points all around. If you're in Murray hill and want some good food make sure to give it a try.

The service was once again exceptional. The wait staff were attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. One particular server stood out; she appeared to be the tallest of the three women working that night and carried herself with the poise and awareness of a manager (if she happens to not be one). Unfortunately, I never caught her name, but she was incredibly cordial and offered thoughtful recommendations, way above and beyond what was being expected What stood out the most was her attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs. It seemed like next-level thinking in the context of a waitressing/host/restaurant profession. When discussing menu items, she immediately recognized that I preferred no spice and proactively addressed that consideration before I even had to ask. That level of attentiveness is uncommon. Many servers simply record orders as requested, but she demonstrated genuine knowledge of the menu and an ability to think beyond the transaction itself. (This attribute may be expected at some higher end restaurants.) Another example was when I requested that scallions and other greens be omitted from a dish. She immediately pointed out that other vegetables might still be present in the soup (from the base) and wanted to ensure there would be no concerns. While allergies were not my issue, I greatly appreciated the care she took to communicate clearly and avoid assumptions. Throughout the meal, she volunteered additional information about various dishes as a precaution, before we even asked (nor maybe even thought of asking). That level of professionalism and attention to detail elevates the entire dining experience. I know this was such a minor detail to bring up but the reason why I am calling this out is about the "experience", once again. Many of my past reviews were not just about how good food is (or the complaints) - but how representatives of an establishment become the core meaning of "dining". Yes, food is important, but the human element and interactions are also key. (who knows - pretty soon AI robots will be taking our orders, right!) Therefore, recognizing positive, unique and deserving aspects of a restaurant is just as crucial as the food output. Equally impressive was how the staff managed what appeared to be a very busy evening. The restaurant was packed, takeout orders especially the pizza boxes were stacked and in a line formation, waiting for pickup, and delivery guys seemed to be coming and going nonstop. Yet despite the pace, the team never appeared overwhelmed. They balanced table turnover efficiently while continuing to provide thoughtful and attentive service. It is rare to see that combination executed so well. Their efforts certainly did not go unnoticed, and we happily tipped above 18%!! The atmosphere is energetic and fun. With multiple screens playing nonstop K-pop music videos ALL NIGHT long (and I'm not into that genre), yet the restaurant feels lively and vibrant, almost like a weekend bar. Yet somehow it still maintains a family-friendly environment that welcomes diners of all ages. The crowd was diverse, and the restaurant buzzed with activity throughout the night. Now... the food spoke for itself. Nearly every dish we ordered showcased quality ingredients and bold, satisfying flavors. Even the fried items were executed remarkably well. The fries, for example, arrived perfectly cooked - golden but not burnt, crisp, and piping hot, with steam still visibly rising despite the dim evening lighting. Every plate reflected care in preparation and attention to quality. Normally, with the amount of food ordered, I'd always have extras to pack up. Well... not this time. Photos simply do not do this place justice. The combination of outstanding service, vibrant atmosphere, and consistently excellent food is what brought me back for a second visit, and it is exactly why I will return again, and again. Thanks for checking out my review!
