I came as a party of 2 to dine in for Friday lunch. The restaurant was open but only ready for takeout at 11:45am. It was ready for seating closer to 12:30pm. Perhaps this restaurant has more business from takeout or in the evenings. There was only 1 server in the restaurant during my visit. The pizza was good. I enjoyed the stuffed crust with sweet potato and cheese. It was sweet and cheesy. The bulgogi on the pizza was a decent amount and spread out nicely. The yang yeung fried chicken was sweet and tangy, not spicy. The fried chicken had a thin coating/breading which led it to be crispy and still juicy. I also got a honey garlic soy 16 piece for takeout and this was probably my favorite flavor for chicken. It's a must try. I mainly give this review not because of the food but because of the service quality. It was barely minimal. It was hard to get the waiter's attention just to be served water or get a refill of water. Chicken - Rating 9/10 The fried chicken is very crispy on the outside but it's still moist and juicy on the inside. The chicken is not salty like most places, just pick your sauce and enjoy. Without sauce you won't get a lot of flavor though. Also, it is less oily than other places. The Yang-Nyum is really just like a sweet and spicy sauce so it's a different style than the fried chicken on the menu. You can get both in their combo if you can't decide. Postmates lets you pick a sauce for the fried chicken but I doubt the kitchen can see it, I didn't get my sauce. Tater tots - Rating 8/10 Tater tots were probably the most worth it because they fill up the box with a ton of tots. Pizza - Rating 8/10 I measured the pizza, it is 12" with a 2" crust all around and it's thick up to 1" at the thickest part of the crust. It's a hefty pizza. The sweet potato stuffed crust and topping are sweet and tasty. The crust is soft, not hard and crispy, so Grandma can eat it. Also it has less oil than traditional pizzas. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday and there were only a couple other diners present. There were only a few tables and the vibe was dark and quiet. We ordered the korean fried chicken wings and pizza combo with different sauces and toppings. The complementary cabbage was appetizing and appreciated. Arrived here for dinner. Decided to go with the pizza combination. Cost around $45 and it includes 12 inch pizza, half fried and half marinated chicken and 3 soda cans. My go-to spot whenever I am craving Korean-style peeeeza. We came around 8:30pm on a Sunday night and were seated immediately. There was a larger party in the back and another table of two so not crowded at all. The service whenever I go is super nice. We ordered a half and half pizza - bulgogi & shrimp garlic and some sweet yangnyum wings. Both were DELISH and we didn't feel overly full even though we didn't finish everything. Paid extra for the angus beef topping, it arrived with a small sprinkle of meat that simply wasn't satisfying in flavor. I was recommended to go to Cheogod Zip Chicken Pizza by my Korean friend after a long day. I was excited since before my experience here I've never had Korean pizza before. Even though I've heard mixed opinions regarding Korean pizza, I also know the Murray Hill area to have small, lesser known restaurants that are hidden gems. The waiters speak both English and Korean, which was super useful because 3/5 of my group weren't Korean. They were very polite and accommodated our every need, although they didn't come around and make rounds that frequently. We ordered two pizzas and two whole chickens, one spicy and one not. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The flavors of the pizza weren't the conventional flavors of a New York slice I was accustomed with, but that's what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by the unique flavor profile that fused sweet and savory in a way I didn't think was possible. The chicken was very flavorful and had my friends not been just as hungry as I was, I would have demolished both chickens by myself as well as every chicken in the room. However I will nitpick about one small thing: the spicy flavor was not nearly as spicy as I was looking for. It tasted like spice was building up a little bit, and was trying to be spicy, but just as it started to rise it came down just as quick and didn't come close to hitting the spice level I was expecting out of a Korean place. Also, don't forget about the Korean style coleslaw like salad (sorry I don't know the exact name). It featured a classic mixture of ketchup and mayo, and was so delicious. My Korean friend told me it was meant to be eaten with the chicken as a sort of palette cleanser, but I had no self control and ate half of it before the chickens were even slaughtered. I don't know. This place used to be a hole-in-the wall type of place. The place my broke Korean buddies and I used to come to share one order of chicken among the ten of us. Zip? The waiter was super nice and we were quickly seated. We had a group of 5 and they had plenty of seating for larger parties. The pizza options were very similar to pizza maru. We ordered the garlic shrimp pizza with sweet potato crust and paste? and a sweet potato pizza with sweet potato crust (obviously we were really feeling the sweet potato.) They were both okay. I was a little disappointed because it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. Maybe because the pizza wasn't baked for as long as I would like (I usually prefer a little bit of burnt crust). A decent korean fried chicken place to go to. We got the combo #12 that included a pizza, chicken made in. 2 different ways, and potato wedges. A soda for each person and complementary salad were also given. The amount of food is definitely good for 4 people. The sauced chicken tasted better than that non-sauced one. The pizza was meh. We got half kimchi bacon and half famous sweet potato. The kimchi bacon had flavor and was very cheesy. I just didn't get the sweet potato one since it had potato, pineapple, and bacon/ham. It didn't really have much taste and it just smelled kinda weird. They also said we can choose half and half but didn't inform us of the extra $2 charge. So don't just make your pizza half and half if you don't want that extra charge! When we were there, we were the only customers and it looked like there was only one person working in the front. It did took some time to get his attention when ordering but it was fine afterwards. The only con is that they don't open the pizza ovens until 12. So be prepared if they tell you it's gonna take a while... The total bill (with tax and tip) turned out to be $60. Was it really worth it? Debatable. I think that's the specialty of this place, the sauce-drenched fried chicken. As a result, the skin is not as crispy as some other places. I'm not even talking about the foods here, The service is TERRIBLE!!!! We called wanted to get delivered. They said no delivery, so took Uber to pick up, finds out they do deliver, when asked they said they never picked up a phone call like that, denying, literally ... whatever, got our chicken took Uber back home, OMG the amount of pieces were way less than usual ... like WTF ... it's not even crispy and not the same taste as before .... if I could I would give out negative stars ... I love traditional American wings and I love Korean food so on a Friday night my boyfriend and I along with some friends decided to have Korean fried chicken and some nice cold beer. We came in at 715pm as a group of 7 and there was only a 2 top dining. As we sat down we got the menus, our plates+chopsticks and a small bowl of popcorn. There were a few options to choose from but we ended up getting the biggest pizza and chicken combo ($74 or $76). It included a pizza, whole order of fried chicken, another whole order of chicken that came drenched in sauce, an order of French fries (potato wedges) and a pitcher of beer! There were a few choices for our pizza but they're more known for their sweet potato pizza. It was a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 for me. The I guess "sauced" fried chicken came in either sweet and mild, sweet and spicy, or hot. The whole fried chicken here is mostly a small drum here and there and some small chunks of breast meat. Not too little and not too much for our group and the sweet and mild we got was tasty and not overbearing. I just wish the regular fried chicken they serve came with a little more salt. They have the best sweet potato pizza! Hands down the best! The chicken is all right in my opinion. I had other preference in my korean fried chicken but their pizza is bomb. I highly recommend their combo deals which comes with choice of pizza, kfc, choice of sides and choice of soda or beer. It a better deal $$ rather than getting everything individually.
