I got the 2 for $7 chicken sliders and they were really big. They could be sold as regular sized sandwiches, honestly. Honestly I think they had a bit of an off day at the time of writing this review but I'd still like to give an honest review based on my experiences. First and foremost the service here is really good and they were super nice to me and my friends, I greatly appreciated that. The food itself at Chick Rocks is difficult to describe because I feel like our chicken was rather inconsistent so we're going to start with the sides before I explain it. We weren't a big fan of the mashed potatoes as they were a little bland, I personally didn't mind it that much but it did feel a bit under seasoned, the fries were really good absolutely above average I'd get them again, the shrimp was rather bland don't think I'd get it again. Our drinks (we got the mango ones) were good when mixed I really would suggest mixing them. Now on to the chicken. This is the rather confusing part of my review as it just wasn't very consistent. We ordered a spicy box and it wasn't very spicy and was unevenly seasoned however each piece had its own thing in common which was that it was under salted or could use a bit of extra seasoning overall. I would describe Chick Rocks like this. Chick Rocks is a great alternative to getting Chicken in the Flushing area without having to worry about quality or price. I don't think there's a better alternative within walking distance. That being said I don't think it's the jollibee killer or whatever weird influencer thing that some of the reviews try to sell you it as. It's a fantastic stand alone place in a small stall that does a good job at what it's meant to do. I would 100% come here on a Thursday to take advantage of their deals and membership service (which was a really nice touch by the way). I ordered the 10 PC Spicy Chicken Wings ($15.95) and a Mango Sparkling drink ($4.95). If you're inclined, you can also order (for an extra $.50) any of the six sauces they offer to dunk your chicken in; I would have done this had I noticed it when I was ordering. The chicken wings had a nice crunchy coating, wasn't too oily and the pieces had lots of meat on the bone. I do not visit the New World Mall food court as often as I used to and I been missing out apparently!! It was brought to my attention there was a fried chicken spot among the other stalls but I do not ever remember seeing it. When you get off the escalator, you make a diagonal line toward the left corner of the dining area. Whenever I am at the food court, I am usually on the other side most likely getting some bubble tea so that is the reason why I probably never noticed it. I had arrived somewhat early to avoid the crowd and race to save a table space but there is always a good amount of people eating at this food court. And now I am reminded of why I seldom eat there recently. This place is good for groups and families who can secure a table while others go order the food. If you are going solo, you might be walking around a little til a corner seat opens up. Luckily there was a table being cleaned up near the Chick Rocks. The employees there are very pleasant and polite overall. You use the self order kiosk or give your order to the employee at the register....especially if you are super fluent in Mandarin. I had a bad experience at a more popular chicken chain spot recently so that is always in the back of my mind unfortunately. The menu, as you guessed, is made up different chicken offerings and combinations. It may not be the healthiest option but I am always down for a good cheat meal...especially some delicious, crunchy fried chicken. It comes with a few pieces of boneless chicken and the sauce they use is tasty. To wash it all down, I saw they had a mango lemonade available and I wanted something different than the usual soda pop. More and more people started ordering after I got my food so that tells me this is a popular spot around here during peak times. The important thing to remember here is that this is fast food establishment and it is located in a food court....so to get the best enjoyment out of any of their food is to order and eat right there. It was a lot of food for one person so I had to pack some leftovers to go like the spaghetti (which was still good when I reheated it) and a couple of pieces of chicken. French fries need to be eaten fresh ideally and this combo comes with a generous amount. For any establishment that offers the option to go, it should be understood that the food quality will not be the same if it has been sitting in a container or box for a while compared to being eaten when it is served hot and fresh. Writing this review really makes me sad because all that food had disappeared into my stomach and I do not know the next time I will be back at NWM. But if you are by the mall food court and want something other than Chinese food, Chick Rocks has you covered. Very hidden gem in New World food court. They sit in a tight corner that may make it hard to miss. I really like their chicken and felt it was better than Popeyes but not that the level of Jollibee.
