I've been to MFC since they first opened, they went through a lot of changes/adjustments over the years but overall decent place to eat. They started offering AYCE seafood boil and friend chicken, weekdays before 5pm is $29.99, snow crab is not included and last serving is around 3 or 3:30 pm from what the waitress told me. So I went here on a Friday afternoon, initially the place was almost empty but later on more business picked up. There was not much staff, and sometimes it was hard to get their attention. But they were overall nice. The AYCE offers seafood boil, Korean fried chicken, salad, fries, sides, and soft drinks. The boil is served "family style", all served in a tray. For the seafood boil you can only order one sauce at a time, and they will charge if there is leftover food and do not offer takeout containers. There is a 90 min time limit. Shrimp was cleaned and easy to peel, there were two types of oysters (green vs black), crawfish, and clams. I would opt for the oysters and shrimp, the clams are quite small and majority of the shells were empty when we got them. I recommend getting the cavatappi pasta, eggs, potatos, and corn. They also offer sausages, rice cake, ramen, etc. Overall would recommend especially with the weekday price, but I believe there are better seafood boils in queens. read more

Came here to try the seafood boil menu. We ordered both the Signature and Garlic Butter sauces. The Garlic Butter is more on the sweet side than savory, but otherwise the two sauces taste pretty similar. The fried chicken is still a very solid choice. Been going to Mad For Chicken for years (from when this was the only location!) There is only street parking, but I usually no issue finding parking. The location is a decent size with a mix of tables with benches and high tops. Our group of 7 did not have to wait on a Saturday afternoon. Sometimes we get complimentary popcorn (with seasoning - curry?) to start, sometimes we do not. This time we did not, but when I have gotten it, the seasoning is addictive! I know I should be saving room for the chicken, but I can't stop munching on it! Maybe it was a good thing we did not get it this time. The Crabmeat Salad is a great starter. They give a generous portion and the perfect amount of dressing - honey mustard, goes well with the (imitation) crabmeat! It also adds some greens to the meal. The Parmesan Truffle Fries are another great starter. They are crispy and pairs well with their spicy mayo. Not a strong truffle flavor, but has a lot of parmesan. The MFC Signature Chicken - Half and Half (Soy Garlic and Spicy Soy Garlic) is the star. Usually takes 20-30 minutes for it to cook (double fried for that extra crispiness), so definitely get an appetizer while you wait. Worth the wait though. Great balance of flavors, with the Spicy version having a great kick. It comes with pickled daikon to help cut that heat if needed. There is a neat check-in offer of a lychee soju shot (not too sweet). I've never had an issue redeeming the offer. There is a variety of drinks to get. A few people in my group went for the Green Tea Milkshake, which they all enjoyed. They have never failed to meet my expectations of crispy deliciousness, and I will always be back! read more

I will say when they say something is spicy do not take it lightly, they mean it. We were a big party of 7, we had the expectations everyone would get their own individual boil, but they ended up spiting our group in half and doing a boil for each side. It was honestly confusing how they wanted us to order, we had to mark from a scale of 1-4 how much quantity we wanted of each item. We did the signature sauce in mild which was honestly the perfect amount of kick. They gave us a huge try bursting of seafood, everything seasoned perfectly. The best Korean fried chicken I've ever had was Unidentified Flying Chicken in Woodside, Queens. Hands down. The only problem with that location is that the leg pieces shrunk drastically. Not so at Mad For Chicken. The pieces are huge. And seriously crispy. Why only 3 stars you ask? The saucing is way too light. They even look dry. It comes out hot and fresh, but the flavor is just not there. The waiter warns you that it may be a 30 min. wait for the chicken since it is made to order, but ours came out really fast. Maybe so fast that the soy garlic flavor was left behind. The other downside is the service. I don't need the waitstaff at my beck and call... I prefer it if they don't come to check on my repeatedly, but I had the hardest time flagging down our waiter for the simplest of things, including the check. For a weekday they had two large parties in the back so that may be the reason but it was still an unusual amount of neglect. It hurt my fee-fees. I'm sensitive. I can deal with lackluster service if the food is banging, but this was just adequate chicken at best. I'd come back for the Kimchi Fries alone. They were that good. Dumplings- These were everyone's favorite at the table. Chicken fingers- These were solid. I think I could probably eat about 25 of these. In my opinion they were the best. Scallion Chicken dish-my buddy ordered this and it seemed like it was just some of the chicken fingers laid on a plate topped with some scallions and other greens.
