Ever since visiting Taiwan and having street food, specifically the chicken cutlet stalls, it's something I crave and can't readily find in the US. Saw Legend Chicken and immediately decided it was worth dodging all the massage ladies clearly seeking more than massages right outside. I got the leg cutlet because I like dark meat but the worker said the other cutlet is probably double the size and even though it's white meat is still really tender. Will have to try that the next time I'm in town but had my Taiwanese chicken cutlet craving satisfied here!

The Spicy Hot Legend Chicken was more hot temperature-wise than it was spice-wise, which is rare and not a bad thing! You could see the heat coming off the chicken. Even wearing the plastic disposable gloves provided, my fingers felt the heat of the chicken. I would recommend using the wooden skewers. The chicken was juicy and tender. This is very much a grab-and-go spot, but there are some tables and chairs in the small dining hall.
Food stall with the stalls on the ground floor and a couple tables for seating in the back. The upstairs used to be seating as well, but is now employee only. They have a digital menu. Service was quick and friendly. The cashier said it would take 5-10 minutes and my order was ready in 5 minutes! Everything was packaged nicely in small containers with a couple skewers in each box. She put in napkins as well. I got the Legend Pops (popcorn chicken) with the hot level spicy. I was told it was very spicy, which was indeed very spicy! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Although I enjoy the spiciness, I think this would be better enjoyed mild or medium. The spiciness kinda takes away from the chicken. I ended up brushing off the chili powder and flakes, which sucks because it's 50¢ extra for the hot level spicy. I was craving some Blood Rice Cakes, so I got those as well. I went with mild level spicy. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, though a little on the salty side. It has a good amount of white pepper too, so if you're not a fan of that, then this is not for you. Decent spot if you're looking to grab and go. I would order in person, as food apps jack up the price, and it's not much of a wait.
Glad they fix the menu with correct pricing, so no surprised up charging the chicken is very good as always. During the week there's lunch break at 2-3pm now. And closer on Wednesdays
Food was delicious. I loved the chicken. Even with mild spice level it was very spicy! So I recommend not getting it spicy at all. Instead get the plum powder. Also Taiwanese style was a little too garlicky for me but if you're a garlic fan go for it! The broccoli and green beans were also worth it! Service was normal. Not a lot of place to sit but thankfully was not crowded. It's definitely worth the trek to Flushing!

This place is hidden in the small food court. If you see yaya tea in the front, you're in the right place. Got their legend chicken. The medium hot is SPICY. My spice tolerance is really high so trust me, if you can't handle your spice, tone down. Big portion for the price (I think $14 something ). Thick cut of chicken breast, it has bones, so be careful. Lots of other snack and rice dish too.
Made it to legend chicken! I got the mild since I'm a wimp at spice. The leg cutlet seemed to be the thing to get. My leg cutlet was nicely breaded and was huge! I liked the taste but the seasoning was too white pepper for my taste. My best friend who loves pepper loved this chicken so I'm glad she was able to enjoy it when I couldn't eat it anymore haha. Interested to see what other flavors food they have :)
One of my go to spots whenever I'm in flushing. Their chicken was crispy and juicy. The meat is super tender and flavorful. For the size of the piece of chicken you get the price is extremely affordable.

The way it is flavored is perfect. However, it is a little dry. I really liked the caulliflower, it felt healthy but was also really tasty!
Yum! one of the tastiest Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken I've had in a long time. Counter lady was really friendly and ordering process was simple and quick. Wait time for my order wasn't too long. One order of the chicken was packed full and piping hot; comes with wooden skewers. Chicken itself was seasoned pretty well, though it would be nice to have a variety of sauces rather than just ketchup. The sweet potato fries was good too; not too oily was fairly sweet. Overall, nice stall located within this narrow Flushing food-hall.

Not my fav for popcorn chicken. Not sure why it had such a high rating on yelp. I asked to put spicy powder on the side but that was extra 50 cent. The problem is I didn't ask for extra spicy bc mild and moderate were free. It was only 50 cent but he could have asked.... Idk the chicken was dry not juice. Wait was short. Nothing too special. Probably not worth the time and effort when there are so many other places for fried stuff. Service was ok overall I think I was just a bit disappointed with the flavor of chicken read more
The chicken cutlet was HUGE and so worth the money in my opinion! It was seasoned very well and the flavors really came through. Service was great and it is located in a mini food court along with a few other great restaurants. The only thing I have to say was that the chicken was kind of dry, but with the portion size + flavor it made up for it! read more

One of the other few halal spots in Flushing. The seasoning on the chicken is Chinese five-spice and a whole-lotta white pepper. This flavor profile was new to me and I really enjoyed it. We got the popcorn chicken in medium heat, I would argue it wasn't spicy at all for those who cannot handle heat. I wish there was a sauce to accompany the popcorn chicken as I found it exceptionally dry. Also got the breast cutlet to go. The cutlet was very oily and heavily breaded. You can choose either white or dark meat but it isn't clear on the menu. If I were to pick one, I would choose the popcorn chicken, as it is easier to eat. read more

Made it to legend chicken! I got the mild since I'm a wimp at spice. The leg cutlet seemed to be the thing to get. My leg cutlet was nicely breaded and was huge! I liked the taste but the seasoning was too white pepper for my taste. My best friend who loves pepper loved this chicken so I'm glad she was able to enjoy it when I couldn't eat it anymore haha. I am a BIG FAN of jipai! I like to try Taiwanese fried chicken steaks whenever I see them. This food stall was in a little narrow food court hallway. The staff were kind and let me know it would take about 10 minutes to prepare. When I got the Legend Chicken, I was amazed at how thin and large it was! The appearance was definitely drool-worthy, but it didn't taste as good as it looked. The chicken itself was very dry - like it was overfried? or maybe the cut of meat wasn't fatty enough? It also had bones in the cutlet. The seasoning and batter on the chicken was really tasty though!! Maybe if they used boneless chicken thigh, it'd be more enjoyable. read more

Came here by recommendation by my friend's cousin who I had just met earlier that day during lunch. He said this place is very comparable to anything in Taiwan and is the best in Flushing. Legend Chicken is located inside the "Grace Tower" building off 40th, between Prince and Main St. It's one of those places where there are multiple stores/shops inside one area. I believe the store in front by the door is like a drink shop, next would be Legend Chicken on the right, then Flushing Ice Cream Place farther down, and Mochiido at the end. Typically i don't really get full from just popcorn chicken, so on top of the LEGEND POPS (popcorn chicken), i had ordered the LEGEND CHICKEN (chicken filet) Took quite a while to get my order, despite being the ONLY person who ordered, but it is chicken so does take a bit. I took it back to my place before eating. The LEGEND POPS is delicious but as expected, small portion. Good to share or snack on. The LEGEND CHICKEN is huge and they had chopped it in half to put it in the paper envelope. It's kind of like the super popular one at shilin night market at taipei but unexpectedly, it still had bones inside. Also felt like a fileted chicken breast with bone. Not that impressed with the filet version but loved the popcorn chicken version. I think i got medium spicy on both. Flavor was great. The filet was a bit dry though. Would get the LEGEND POPS again for a snack but not the LEGEND CHICKEN. read more

Legend Chicken is famed for their Taiwanese fried chicken and authentic late-night market snacks. I was in Flushing the other day when I asked my sister if she wanted me to bring anything back, and she texted me the Yelp link to this place along with a list of what she wanted. And well, here I am. * Leg Cutlet 别姬香腿排 $12.00 You can't go wrong with Taiwanese fried chicken steak aka 雞排. Instead of their Legend Chicken though, we went with their Leg Cutlet, which uses juicy dark meat; and this was piping hot, perfectly breaded, with just the right amount of lip-numbing spice. The size of this chicken piece was no joke too-- my sister and I shared one order and still didn't finish. * Fish Roe Sausages (2pcs) 臺式魚子香腸 $7.50 I've never heard of fish roe sausages before, so this was interesting. I didn't have any, but my sister said it was yummy and really enjoyed it. We can't wait to come back and try their tater tots, hash browns, and garlic string beans! **All of their items are made fresh to order! Ok so I had a two star draft review saved in my draft folder. Last time we came here, we really wanted to try this place and were in a time crunch. We came when they were supposed to open (I think noon?) but they never opened. So we were a bit annoyed that the signs were wrong and they weren't open. Well I was hesitant to post a negative review because you never know the situation (workers sick, transportation issues, owners sick, etc.). Well recently we came back to Flushing to visit and eat delicious food. I wanted to give this place another try. We came and they were open! We ordered the popcorn style chicken and ordered it medium spice. It was sooooo fresh and soooooo good. I've eaten a few taiwanese chicken places and most are good but I love how this place adds spice to it. It made it extra good. Had a nice kick in my mouth. If I didn't have to share with my wife then I think our cousin and I would have gotten the spiciest level. So so so good. Could eat this every day!! read more
Popped in here for a quick snack and it was worth it. Even the mild had a bit of a spicy kick but not enough where you are drenched in sweat. One of the better popcorn chickens I've had in New York. I got the legend pops to go. The chicken was moist and juicy. I got it mild spice, but it was still quite spicy for me. The batter was light and spiced quite well. There were a few pieces of Thai basil in there. The portion is good to split between two people or for two smaller snacks. They have a $10 card minimum, so make sure to bring cash or order something that's at least $10. read more

Wanted to try more Taiwanese popcorn chicken places & the reviews for this place seemed pretty good. We ordered the legend pops and what we thought was the legend chicken but we might have received the leg cutlet instead (my boyfriend might have ordered the wrong thing in Chinese haha not a fault of the establishment). The leg cutlet (or legend chicken? unsure) was very delicious & flavorful! You can really taste the seasoning, it was well done. We were eating outside when it was cold and windy so by the time we got to the popcorn chicken/legend pops it was cold. Surprisingly the legend pops weren't as flavorful as the leg cutlet/legend chicken but unsure if it's because we didn't eat it while it was hot. Overall it was pretty tasty and I'd love to try the popcorn chicken when it's hot (maybe eating it indoors would have been a better idea). Would also love to come back and try the other items on the menu like the fries and gizzards. Legend Chicken is located inside with other vendors like the Flushing Ice Cream Factory and Yi Fang so it's a great place to sample a lot of bites together. read more

Whenever I am in NYC, I crave popcorn chicken because Hawaii just doesn't do it right nor are there varied options. Searched on Yelp and Google Maps and found myself at a door that led to a series of mini stalls/shops that included Yifang Tea, an ice cream parlor, and Legend! They make the food to order so it was probably a smarter idea to order over the phone but I didn't mind waiting. This place is tiny with no seating space but alot of patrons seem to use delivery apps so the staff are always busy moving and doing things. Menu is very straightforward and easy to follow. I wanted to try everything - haha! But knew food like this is only good when fresh and crispy. Opted for their popcorn chicken and garlic broccoli to share with my lovely friend. We didn't eat until I brought it all back to her place but omg!!!! Popcorn chicken was piping hot, crispy and just delightful! I loved that fine dusting of spice to give it a slight kick. Garlic broccoli was a nice counterpoint and made me feel less guilty for eating fried chicken for dinner. Not overcooked and not too garlicky. I still dream about this no-frills meal (snack? for some). Just great, fast and delicious food. read more
While perusing for something other than hospital food to eat we both stumbled upon Legend Chicken. We're both fans of fried chicken especially the Korean kind. So when we had our chance to partake in some hearty Taiwanese chicken we had to oblige. We ordered waffle fries, legend chicken, legend pops, sweet potato fries, and garlic string beans. The food was delicious but extremely oily. I instantly had a stomach ache and couldn't finish my food because of this. My hunny who can put it away said that there were a lot of pieces and he couldn't finish all of his legend chicken. I mean each piece was the size oh his hand, which are rather large and manly. My legend pops were nice and savory. I couldn't get past the amount of oil at the bottom of my container. The garlic string beans weren't bad but I couldn't enjoy them because of how greasy the chicken and waffle fries were. Fried chicken is beautiful in every culture and Taiwanese fried chicken is no exception. Some might even call it Legend-ary. Legend Chicken does a solid job getting their fried chicken extra crispy and well-seasoned. Although the chicken cutlet was good, it was a bit dry on my visit. However, the popcorn chicken ended up tasting much more juicy and I'd definitely come back for it again. Also, found the fried tofu to be a nice light snack. Definitely check it out if you're craving fried chicken in Flushing! read more
