I asked what they were and the woman explained they were called "Yemas" (egg yolk bread) and that they're shipped directly from Oaxaca. I bought some and honestly they were incredible with coffee the next morning. Soft, slightly rich, subtly sweet -- one of those simple things that reminds you how deep Mexican baking culture actually is outside of the usual stuff people know.
