I was here years ago with one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. I must say I had the same thing and it did not disappoint. I must say being from south Louisiana I'm a food snob when it comes to our cuisine. I know how it should be done. And this place should be the poster child of how in fact it should be done. I had half a poboy with the crab bisque. Yummmmm. My husband had shrimp fricasse' it even came with a little cute fun getti dessert cake. The name and inside(beautiful mural now is painted on the wall and the place has been updated)has changed from years ago, but this is still some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten. Great appetizers in fried okra, fried pickles and shrimp! Excellent seasoned fries as well. Ordered the Black Snapper with Crawfish étouffée. Tastes were great, but the Snapper was a bit dry/tough. Mentioned as such to the waitress who went ahead and brought out some complimentary warm and moist Bread Pudding! Heavenly! That was a very nice touch by the waitress/restaurant. Everything on the menu sounds so good! I will have to come back soon. We settled on a steak special. Filet topped with a crab cake, topped with a cream sauce over sauteed green beans, served with potatoes au gratin. The steak was cooked perfectly. The crab cake was huge, full of lump crab, no filler. The potatoes were cheesy but could use some garlic or spice. Pretty much cheesy potatoes. Not so much a cheese sauce. Still good anyway! New owner from another local restaurant down the road, as I was told by a couple next to me at the bar. The last place here was good and known for boiled seafood which was good but this was better. Not as many boiled selections and/or combos. Crawfish was way tastier and dip was not bland as was with the last owner. Can't get enough of this place. The food is great and we'll worth the price. I had the shrimp sandwich with fries for $7 and it comes with a lot of fries and shrimp. My Brother in law got the catfish platter, which he let me try, and it was fried to perfection. I've heard the burgers are good too and I'll be trying one next time I'm there, which will be soon. read more

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Grand Isle, LA. The food was awesome. We tried the Crab Patty Delight, Crab Lover's, Bang Bang Shrimp Salad, and Eggplant and Crab Cakes in a seafood sauce. All of our party stated that the crab cakes were the best they had ever eaten. Service was excellent and food came from kitchen quickly and fresh and hot. Will definitely be back on next trip to Grand Isle. read more

Holy Moly this place is SPECIAL!!! Two nights in a row I showed up before opening and went in early each night. By the time I left the locals were lined up outside waiting to get in! Out on the bayou in southern Louisiana where everyone knows good food, that speaks volumes. The first night I had Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer/salad and Crab Patty Delight as an entree with Bread Pudding for dessert. Everything was impeccable, service included, Taylor being an absolute charm. The second night I started with Boudin Balls (if you have to ask, you should find out) and moved on the Grilled Crab Patty Pasta (see a pattern here?). Everything was incredible and very tasty without being overdone. The crab patties were well prepped (little to no shell) and all meat, very very very very little filler. Amazing. I can't say enough. Went down for a redfishing trip with a large group of friends. Our food was fantastic across the board! However I was even more impressed by our service! They handled a 16 top table with 100% accuracy and blazing speed! We were so impressed with the first trip we went back the next night and had an equally great experience. One of those nice little "hole in the wall" places. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered a grilled shrimp salad and it was very good. Could have had it fried or boiled as well. Actual shrimp were small but there was plenty of them as most of the lettuce was covered in shrimp. I had less than an hour to get in and out which I was able to accomplish. Obviously this would be dependent upon what was ordered and how busy they are but for me it worked out. Decided to try Cher Amies while in town with 3 buddies to fish. From the first contact with the restaurant personnel along with other customers we were greeted with a friendly response. Service and waitress were great. We shared crawfish and bang bang shrimp which satisfied all of us. We had the soft shell crab with etouffee, red snapper with etouffee and the grilled Mahi. Was disappointed with an occurrence on my first visit last night. The food was good, the service was quick as all of the staff obviously worked hard. But I must say my waitress did a foolish mistake that cost her a bigger tip. I ordered the special which consisted of bang bang shrimp on a bed of lettuce that came with free refills. I didn't want more shrimp but requested more lettuce and was charged $2- for plain lettuce. (The receipt stated "side salad".) Had I been told this upfront, I would have reconsidered. We were a table with 5 tabs so had the tips included on the bills. Had that extra charge not happened, the waitress would have gotten from me what would have been greater that a 31% tip rather than the 20% posted on my bill. read more

So this is a no-frills seafood restaurant. There's no need to dress up. You'll sit at picnic-like tables with a big roll of paper towels. It's all about eating. I saw some people eating from metal pails, but I ordered a shrimp platter which included shrimp prepared so many different ways. We had an amazing Mother's Day meal. I had a petit filet topped with crab cake and lump crabmeat and a Bernaise sauce along with grilled shrimp and sides. My dessert was a bananas foster crepe.
