The property manager, Cherie Haven, is in the wrong profession. She is unresponsive, rude, evasive, and clearly not equipped to manage a property even a fraction of Sixty-01's size. It's a shame to see - I've been in the community since 1999, and have watched Sixty-01's evolution from sweet, clean, and secure gated community to what it is now, a messy, trashy, unsafe collection of condos with "amenities" that are always out of order and/or inaccessible. Since Cherie became property manager at the Sixty-01 complex in Redmond, the property has deteriorated, security issues have become a major issue, and she refuses to speak to owners. I requested association records (that owners are entitled to) and she ignored me for months. When I called to inquire on the status of my request she hung up on me. Camille is an agent working for MacPherson's so I'm not sure if it's the company or a personal failure to do her job, but it just isn't working out. She ignores emails and phone calls and phone calls to her superiors, even when there's vital issues. I moved into a rented 5 bd home five months ago and am paying a ton of rent each month in Bellevue. My fireplace still does not work, and it was like pulling teeth and took two (3?) months to get the advertised garbage disposal installed. There is a hazardous dead tree in the front yard that could fall on the homeowners house or neighbors at any time. When asked for new house screens since the old ones had huge holes, she replied "The previous tenants never had a problem with them, so No." Oh, and not one smoke detector was installed in the house when we moved in. I discovered this when I lit a fire and the entire house filled up with smoke. Yet another problem. I don't know how to get her attention or service. 5 months later, I have run out of patience. I will never do business with them again. They were our property management company for two years, and when we left the townhouse we were living in, we scrubbed that place for days and it was cleaner than when we moved in. They still found any little item, including things that were there prior to our arrival but that unfortunately we didn't have pictures of, in order to rip us off of our security deposit. I sent them a letter detailing everything and never got a response. I cannot speak to whether their real estate agents who sell property do a good job, but I will never find out because the brand "MacPherson's" no longer exists to me. I would give 0 stars if I could. My initial experience with McPherson's was good. They found us the place we were looking for in the neighborhood we wanted. I think our Property Manager, Luis Batiz, did what he could to balance the relationship between the renter and property owner. But, when push came to shove he sided with the owner. Obviously the owners help pay his paychecks. But where he went wrong - Luis did not ensure the 15 year old off white carpets were cleaned or blue light inspected when we moved in and did not push the owner of the property on NE 35th Place, Renton to keep the house up to date. Then when we moved out (out of state) we were nickled and dimed for normal wear and tear and trumped up "damages" to eat into our entire damage deposit. Of course the blue light inspection (was it even real?) said there were issues on the carpet (previous owners dog?) after we paid $350 to get it cleaned! The real story was the owner was cited to paint the house by the HOA - so you know where our deposit went! To make matters the worst - we gave McPhersons a date and a time (in advance) when we were leaving Washington with the moving Semi so they could be at the house to do a walk through with us. They did not show up or even call us. Luis was out of the country on vacation. Calls to his boss and the manager of the Bellevue office went unanswered. When McPherson's met the owners at the house days after we vacated and did a walk through .... that is where the trumped up charges came from. So if you are looking for a property. Do not rent the house mentioned above. Horrible cheap owners. Be sure you do a walk through before and after. If you are potentially transitional and may move out of state and can't take the time to fight the battle in court, don't go with McPhersons! If you have Luis Batiz for your property manager - he is a nice guy - or sells himself that way. But - he also has some potential integrity issues in my opinion and will obviously not support his renters one bit. I have a very similar experience with another agent. Let's just say when the police are called to your Board meeting because the PM and an owner have gotten into a fight then something is wrong. We also did not get answers with our emails... usually it was "my computer isn't working" or "did you really send me that?". We had enough and went with Port Gardner out of Everett. As a BOD I am in heaven. The man answers my questions within 24 hours and never once have I heard him say "why do you need this information". Hope you can convince your landlord to change. read more

We hired MacPherson's to manage our home while we were out of the country. The only thing they managed to do was collect their 10% each month. After two years, we returned to find the inside of our home filthy, several damages and a yard sadly in need of attention. What's worse is that when we escalated our concerns to the manager of the Bellevue office, her first response was real concern as if she was going to do something. That concern was fleeting as she then provided a number of excuses about why she didn't return emails or calls - my birthday, my asthma, my mother visited from out of town..blah blah blah. When we think about how much MONEY we paid them for the poor job they've done, we want to scream. Save yourself some heart ache. STAY AWAY from these guys. I would give them ZERO stars if I could! Our story: We worked with Luis Batiz, and had a property lined up to rent. He kept pushing our lease signing back saying he was double booked when we had made the appointment the day before. Suspicious. We get a phone call 3 days before we were supposed to sign a lease and move in saying the owners decided to sell. We were left high and dry with no home and no place to move. Had to get a storage unit, rent moving trucks twice, hire movers twice, and live in a hotel room for a week before we could get a lease signed and keys to a different place. Cost us well over $1000. We think he knew, and waited until the last minute for the chance that he could get commission from the property. So my advice to you, find another company. Such a NIGHTMARE! read more

Wow -- I am amazed reading all these one-star reviews and I thought I'd better share my experience with you guys. I've had bad landlords before, and had never dealt with another property management company. When I moved into this house one of the first things that happened is the toilet stopped working. I was really worried because based on my previous experience renting houses I figured I'd end up having to choose between buying a new toilet or endless "fixes" that kept it working for a few days. To my surprise MacPherson's without any fuss at all had a plumber come in next business day, remove the old toilet, install a brand new one, and that was it. When the furnace started acting up, again, someone was out right away to fix it. I mentioned there was no porch light, and to my surprise, they sent someone out to install one! I have no idea whether this is typical for property management companies or not, but it's definitely different than my previous experiences renting. I've been in this house going on three years now, and have no immediate plans to move. I'm in Edmonds, so maybe there are (were?) some issues with the Bellevue office, but my own experiences do not match what I am reading here at all. read more

SLUM LORDS-- BEWARE! - DO NOT RENT FROM THEM We have rented a house from this company and it has been terrible. When we moved in the house was dirty and the bathrooms stunk of urine. During our stay we have had several problems with items getting fixed. We have been without a proper fridge and stove for over 5 months. They replaced the microwave which only took three months of constant emails Funny thing is we have been asked to move out due to our "complaints". I guess asking for a roof that doesn't leak and appliances that work would be considered a hassle to them. Their handyman even admitted to me that they do not like fixing things. Plus their fixes are usually crappy. To sum it up MacPhersons is not the right choice for you they do not care about the tenants only getting the rent. Stay away! read more

I don't know how I can condense all our issues into one review... We rented a single family residence in a "highly sought after" neighborhood near Microsoft. Our first property manager, Carmel, was pretty on top of her game. The house was clean on move in, and when we had a dishwasher issue (previous tenants broke glass in it, which clogged up the line), she had someone out there quickly to fix it. About five months after moving in, the problems began. Let me try to summarize - 1 - large tree limb falls on roof, causing damage. Call MacPherson's to find out our PM Carmel had left the company. We're told the branch manager, Cherie Haven, will take care of things. Takes a full month before someone comes to remove limb/fix hole in roof. Also took three weeks of waiting and another prompting email to "meet" our new PM Kim. 2 - toilet (which was improperly installed) leaks through the floor into laundry room. 3 - main water line into house fails due to age. Kim sends out a plumber a day later, but then won't answer her phone when he calls to get approval to do the actual work so he has to leave w/o fixing anything. Five days after that, Kim sends two different "contractors" to fix the line. As the break was under landscaping boulders, they remove the one boulder but then leave it on the side of the driveway - for the next year. We're told by Kim that we will not get even a partial-reimbursement for our $600 water bill because she called a plumber right away. 4 - we resign a lease, agreeing to a rental raise if we could get a new fence and dishwasher (the fence was rotting to the point that if you lightly pressed on a board, it could fall out - not great with kids. The dishwasher always had pink scum build up, despite everything I did - and we did not have hard water.). The fence and dishwasher are agreed upon. Several months later, parts of the fence were replaced. 5 - A new dishwasher is bought, only for it to fail three weeks or so after installation. Thus starts a four month saga that included two more dishwashers, several different "handymen", and eventually fixing the issue ourselves (air vent was clogged.) During this time, we're told to call the handyman ourselves to arrange things. 6 - I notice a water leak in the laundry room. I call the office and ask for Kim, only to find out that Kim has left the company. Once again, our account is in the hands of Cherie Haven. A plumber is sent and we discover the leak is actually coming from the bathroom upstairs. Plumber fixes the leak from around the shower faucet. Several days later, laundry room floods from bathroom. Plumber comes back out, finds yet another fault in the pipes, caulks and tightens everything. 7 - Our refrigerator stops cooling. I contact Cherie, who doesn't get back to me. After several days, I email her with how this violates Landlord/Tenant Act. She responds with an introduction to our new PM, Alberto. We ended up going without a working fridge for about two weeks. 8 - We noticed a puddle in the landscaping and realize that the main water line has failed again, in the area they "fixed" it the year before. This leads to a several week saga of getting the water line replaced, only for it to fail inspection, so it had to be replaced again, only for the guys to drill through the sewer line, causing the sewer line to clog up and back up into the house, flooding through the downstairs bathroom, rendering anything we used with water useless (washer, showers, toilets), which led to having a hole dug at the end of our sidewalk where raw sewage flowed, and left open for three days... Plus we had the kitchen sink clogging up several times due to an old grease clog from previous residents, temperamental outdoor lights that never worked properly despite two different handymen working on them, a double oven where the top oven was rendered useless because of two issues (of which only one was fixed when we asked, and even then, it took months to get it fixed), and more plumbers crack than a person should have to endure. Our final PM, Alberto, was actually quite good. We liked him, and would recommend him based on the four months we worked with him. Cherie Haven is beyond useless, and took weeks to fix major problems with our house when she was in charge. The Landlord/Tenant Act was violated several times while we lived there because of lack of water, open holes of sewage, non-working major appliances...all for the high cost of "desirable area" living. Between that, plus the branch manager not answering calls ever, plus the fact that we dealt with four different property managers in two years and were never told when one would leave, I cannot recommend MacPherson's to anyone, either as a renter or a property owner. read more

Our four year long experience with MacPherson's Property Management, and Luis Batiz in particular, has been an absolute nightmare and I am so glad that it's finally come to an end. My fiancé and I rented a home in Kent, WA through MacPherson's. The house itself was fine and so was the actual owner of the house. Hindsight is 20/20 and after the first year I wish we would have just rented directly through the owner instead of this useless company. Thank goodness the owner was responsive and willing to repair the home directly when problems arose, because we would have moved out after the first year. Luis was one of the most disorganized and unprofessional agents we have ever dealt with. He put the wrong year on one of our leases (giving us a 6 month lease instead of an 18 month one). Every time we renewed our lease, he would schedule an appointment to do a walkthrough of the house. This happened three years in a row: at least 20 minutes after his scheduled time to show, he would either call and say he had a "family emergency" and reschedule, or just not show at all and apologize when we called him. This is extremely annoying and inconvenient when having to take time off work to wait around for him, just to find that he may never show. When we decided to move to Florida and schedule the final walkthrough (at 4 PM the day before we moved), we were told he was on vacation and that he scheduled it with one of his colleagues. Who also never showed. When we called to see where she was, we were told she had a disconnected phone number for us and that she sent an email (which we also never received. We also don't know how she got this "disconnected" number, because we had been texting back and forth with her). We were forced to leave without having a final walkthrough done. We were surprised, but not at the same time because we know how ridiculous this company is, to find that not only were we not getting our $2000 deposit back, but that we were being charged an additional $800 of damage to the home (which was there prior to moving in) and $200 in late fees (which was interesting considering we sent the rent check in late exactly once in four years). We did not have the home professionally cleaned at the end of the lease, and we were prepared to own up to that and have it taken out of our deposit money, but this was outrageous. We called Luis to discuss this, and he acted like he had "bad reception" and said he would call us back. A month passed and we never received a call. We gathered the timestamped photos we had of the pre-existing damage to the home and sent them to him along with a strongly worded letter requesting our deposit back, minus the cleaning fee and $20 in late fees. Another month passed and we finally received a check for $176. This is nowhere near the roughly $1700 that we are owed, but it's a start. The bottom line is: BEWARE. read more

I cannot even describe how unhappy I am with this company. I agree with the other reviewers and if I could give zero stars I would! I have only owned my unit for a year and when I didn't need anything and was just sending them my monthly check they were great! My first interaction with them was on a parking issue with our neighbors. It is part of our associations regulations that their is no head in parking or double parking in front of our garages. I emailed our property manager to express my frustrations over our neighbors doing both and preventing me from getting in my garage and she said she would send them a letter. After two months the issue wasn't resolved so I contacted her again. In our rules and regulation handbook it says thats fines will be placed after the first warning so I asked why fines were not being given? In her words "the fines wouldn't do any good" and "I should call a towing company." I was livid that she was NOT fulfilling her duties by handing out fines, but followed her advise and called a towing company next time it happened only to be told that since I lived in a complex where my neighbor and I shared private property a higher authority than I needed to call for towing. I emailed my property manager with this new news and her response was "I don't know what to tell you." So this tells me I am paying McPherson's Property Management for absolutely nothing. We also have a unit in our complex that are known squatters with suspected drug activity. Most recently they acquired a pitbull that runs around off leash around our complex. I shouldn't have expected much after my parking interaction, but I again tried to ask what McPherson could do to help. I received a smilier response that they were working to with their legal team to evict them, but their was nothing they could do to enforce our complexes regulations they are not following. This was followed by multiple sarcastic responses such as "what do you want me to do, remove the dog myself?!" As if that was what I was suggesting. Her advise continues to be to call the police, animal control, or a towing company for my needs and the response from those are always the same. These calls need to come from the property manager. When I let her know this, her advise to me was to file a complaint against the police department for not responding. That advise was laughable. I highly suggest if you are going to rent or own a unit managed by McPherson's Property Management to reconsider. read more

I explained my situation, that we have a lazy, chronic alcoholic roommate who refuses to work, the house owner doesn't care, and I want out. She openly said it doesn't matter, as long as rent is paid, they don't care about anything else. She has obviously never lived with someone like that. We spoke for a short time, all while she glared at me, and spewed her negative comments. Like an idiot, I went ahead and applied. The next week she mailed a letter saying my application was rejected, but NO reason. She didn't have the decency to tell me. However, she had no problem calling the other house and saying I was not accepted. So what was the problem? No idea. I had received THREE Federal Security Clearances at my job in the past few years, so there is no criminal record. My credit score is over 650, and I have no evictions. Because Marilyn and myself did not get along, she rejected me. If ALL she truly cares about is getting the rent paid, as she admitted to, then why does she care if I live in one of her rentals? Upon leaving the office, the person I was with openly said he should have warned me how unhappy and miserable she is. Yes, he should have. I don't know how she keeps her job. Their parking policies are a joke! They say that the tenants can't park in the guest spots. This is understandable in places where people fight for parking. But here we don't have this problem. There are 11 or 12 guest spots next to my house. There are maybe 2 or 3 cars parked in them at the most at any time. I've only seen it completely full twice and that was on holidays. Anyways, there are 4 people in our household and each of us has a car. We all work different schedules so we're always coming and going. They want us to park 2 cars in the garage and 2 cars on the driveway at all times. This means after I come home from work at midnight, I would have to wake up at 4am to let my sister drive out of the garage because I'm parked behind her. That, or she would have to wake up to let me drive into the garage at midnight. We would have to move our cars around at least 6 times a day. All that while there are more than 10 free guest spots next to us. And on top of it all, we only got one garage remote for our two car garage. So we either have to get out and do it ourselves or call on the road and have someone open it for us. There are a lot of other things that I don't like about this place but this is the one thing that just pisses everyone off more than anything. We are now looking for a new place to move to because we've lived here for almost 5 years and are fed up with them. read more

If there was an option of giving less than one star, I would definitely do so. It has been one year we are dealing with them. Last year when we signed the lease, the property manager, Nicole Keahey told us that the carpet has been steam cleaned, but when we shifted we found a spotty carpet. It was too late to look out for another place to stay so we shifted anyway, She did assure us that she would have the carpet replaced later, which never happened. We had the worst experience in the condo that we rented. It was a high maintenance place.and we had to raise multiple maintenance requests . The response time was pathetic. Nicole left the office and did not bother to inform us that she is leaving and who would be the new property manager for us. We were left in the middle strangling to find out who the new point of contact would be. After following up multiple times, we found out the new property manager was Cynthia Harden and our experience with her was even worse. We were nearing the end of our lease so we wanted to know the renewal options. After setting up the appointment for signing the new lease, she came in with loads of attitude and complaints. Would have really appreciated if she wouid be more polite and understand our concerns instead of pointing out how we should lead our lives. A BIG NO NO for anyone who is considering them. read more

This is a useless property management company. They ignore you until you call the emergency number, which they then threaten to charge you for. That guy with the five stars probably works there - there is no way this group of incompetents could even accidentally give you five star service. Specifics you ask ? 1. The property was not cleaned on move in. The carpets were dirty; the closets had some kind of moldy gunk on the racks inside. 2. Most of the light fixtures did not work. 3. Leaky kitchen faucet left us without water all weekend. 4. Bathroom sink plumbed in reverse - hot water out of the cold faucet. 5. Window screens all torn up 6. Furnace thermostat totally corroded from batteries 7. Fireplace not working. 8. No doorstops and damage from same 9. Deck in back is in terrible condition 10. Only one of the three cable connections work and the list goes on, but the largest problem is that I have given the PM folks this list and they have so far only fixed the sink leak which was flooding the kitchen. Generally speaking, they do not respond to queries. They've not even signed over the water bill to us, which is hurting the landlord. Our "representative" seems to have a lot of personal issues that get in the way of her doing her job. So I get that sometimes people need time away from work, but McPhearsons will not assign anyone else to take her place while she's out. Vacation, sick, whatever the deal, I have to wait until she's back. When I escalated to a manager, their response was to put a note on her desk. They actually said that - they're going to put a note on the desk of someone who is out sick. That was their big plan to help me out. Don't use these people if you can help it. Obviously all the positive reviews from the tenants are very happy with this company, but not the landlord. As a landlord myself, I finally switched to another management company only to find MacPherson's lousy management has caused me a fortune. Their walk-in report is lousy thus, the new management company had a hard time claiming any damages from the tenants. No wonder all tenants love them. Yet, they did not inform the tenants the change of management company thus, resulting a late monthly payment and a penalty, which I am responsible for. One of the tenant passed away in March but MacPherson still mentioned about him in their report during June, which means their "so-called" 6 months walk in check up is BS! A bill to repair dryer in April never gets paid, not until my new management told me I have a balance due! No one inform me of the repair, nor check to see if there is warranty on it, they simply called someone to repair it and let the bill sat there for 6 months. I called the repair company and they said they had to lower the repair fee because it was over $200 and they need MacPherson's approval, however they can't get a hold of anyone for couple days so they had to charge little less than $200 to get the work done. UPDATE 12/23/14: The fact that my review has landed in the "Not currently recommended by Yelp" section has completely destroyed my confidence in Yelp reviews. That a company can get a review suppressed that is completely factual and has credible details, by a reviewer (me) who has reviewed many establishments in the area, is COMPLETE B.S. Nevertheless, RENTER or PROPERTY OWNER BEWARE. Original review: I did not have a good experience with this company. My first sense that things would not go well was when I sat down with Luis Batiz to sign the lease on a single family home. He pointed out that he added a clause to the lease stating that I needed to water the lawn - this was totally reasonable, of course. But then he went on to threaten me with eviction if I didn't improve the lawn over its state at that time, as the previous tenants hadn't been watering. He went on and on about how an eviction never leaves your record, unlike a bankruptcy. Here I am a very responsible 50+ year old woman with excellent references, and I'm being threatened with eviction before I move in. He also told me that he was making an exception (i.e. a favor) in renting to me since the company they use to do the background check had recommended they decline my application. Say what? He said it was because my old lease wasn't going to expire until a week after my new lease was to become effective. Ridiculous. Nevertheless, because the market was so tight, I signed the lease. To make a very long story short, the bedrooms in the new place proved uninhabitable because of odors (the windows were open anytime I had seen it), the furnace didn't work, the smoke alarms were beeping from drained batteries, there was no cold water in the kitchen, the holes and decayed boards on the deck that Luis had said were dangerous and promised would be fixed weren't fixed, etc. I didn't realize the bedrooms were as bad as they were until I moved in and closed all the windows, and I had to move in because my old place had been rented, but I turned around and got out of there within a week. While MacPhersons stated in writing they would let me out of my lease, it took 40 days, two rounds of certified letters from me, a visit to the Tenants Union (fabulous!) to understand my rights, and letting McPherson's know that I indeed had a strong case and would definitely take them to court, before they finally gave me my money back -- in clear violation of WA law, which requires return of deposits within 14 days. Nevertheless, they did give me my money back - so I am happy to give them one star, rather than zero (which I know Yelp doesn't allow me to do anyway!) read more

I have been renting a house through Macphersons property management for over 2 years now. The agent we work with is Luis S Batiz, and this last week as been an absolute disaster when trying to get a problem resolved. The furnace at the home went out last week, I called Macphersons' office and Luis was out of town so they said I would get a call from his replacement to get the furnace taken care of. I waited 2 days and no word meanwhile the house is 55 degrees inside. Finally, I just hired a company to fix the problem, the bill was over $500 which I paid for out of pocket. When I attached the invoice and deducted the amount from rent I got a call from Luis saying that they will not be paying the bill and if I don't send the remaining rent, that he will be "taking me to court". I have never witnessed a company so unprofessional, and to make things worse, when I was talking with Luis Batiz to try to get the matter resolved he hung up on me. Avoid renting a home through this company, at the first sign of any issue they will not being accommodating at all!! read more

I would Not have given a One star. I have never given a bad review in all my life. I will not go into about my issues I have had or having w/ Luis S Batiz . I will tell you this don't believe a word this man says. My home is 27 degrees right at this moment and has been this cold for 3 weeks the prior 4 .5 months it didn't bother my babies and the children or myself. The neighbors let me use there heating elements but they don't heat up the house just rooms. I cant wait to see my Pud bill. No running water in the kitchen. I have had many issues only one life threating and I am not talking about the heat. I have had to pay for all of them myself. I took before pictures thank god. All the hidden treasures lol. I have called the dispute resolution center and I am waiting for a call from Attorney general. Hopefully by the time I am done he/ MacPherson's will not have a job and will be paying me back 10 months worth of rent and all my expenses. read more

I was unable to even begin renting from this company. The first time my fiancé and I tried to view a property, we were stood up by the realtor. We tried calling after he was 20 minutes late, then emailing; we never heard back. Frustrated, but undeterred, I called the front office the next day and asked if I could still see the property. The receptionist transferred my call to the realtor who had previously stood me up, which he apologized for by telling me that he had forgotten where he had written it down, but that he could show us the place that night. My fiancé and I showed up after work to look at the place, this time accompanied by the realtor. He told us he had not showed up the previous day because he had been watching the Seahawks game with his friends, funnily enough these are the same plans that we cancelled in order to meet with him before he stood us up. At the end of the tour he said, "make sure to get your application in soon, if anybody gets in ahead of you we won't save it for you." We told him to email us the application, as we were very interested in the property. We didn't hear back for a day, so we sent an email, gently reminding him of our email addresses and our desire to get an application. No response. I waited a couple of days more, then called him. He picked up (a first, he had never picked up for me before) and had no idea who I was. When we sorted out who I was and why I was calling, he said that he hadn't ever heard from us, that someone else had applied for the house and that we had lost it. He reminded me that I should have been quicker. The property is still listed as available. I think this man is incompetent, insulting, and disrespectful. If you ever find yourself tempted to work with Luis Batiz, let him know that you read this, and leave. read more

Their service is a joke! They do not return phone calls or emails. The first agent who contacted me was the most unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I complained to the manager, Cherie, and could not get her to actually speak with me. When I would call, she would ask me to email. When I would email, she would tell me to call her. After getting the run around by this company four times, I said forget it. If they are this awful to deal with before becoming a tenant, I refuse to rent from them. This company has some major issues to work out. After reading the reviews of tenants I'm very thankful we did not move forward with the house we were interested in. read more

Macpherson's property managers are used car salesman disguised as property managers. My PM was Nicole and she would use every angle in the book to take as much money as possible from my account. Property managers also have vendors they work with for painting and miscellaneous work. Nicole was actually caught using her husband named John who is a painter. Of course they would drive up the price for a paint project since there was plenty of money from the last tenants deposit. It was a nice unethical scam they had going. Macherson's is also very expensive and not worth the money. read more

I contacted MacPherson's to look at some rental houses that they had available- we are relocating, and we had to make a decision during the weekend we were in town to look at properties. Cherie was very helpful and straightforward, helping us understand neighborhoods and feel comfortable making a decision about where to live even though we are not very familiar with the area. We ended up renting from the competition (we had to make a decision quickly, from a limited choice of rental houses), but it was the help we received from Cherie that provided us with the information we needed. The next time we rent, MacPherson's will be the company we call: professional, courteous, and honest. read more

My husband and I moved on July 1st, 2013 to a townhome in north Snohomish. We knew there were a few problems with the townhouse, but nothing that could not be fixed. We made a number of small repairs ourselves. At this time my biggest problem is the hotwater heater and the stove. The oven door will not close, so is useless. If I turn it on, the whole unit gets hot. They did send a man to set mouse/rat traps last month. (the area is known for a rat/mouse problems). A service man has also come and looked at the hotwater heater. What I do not understand is how MacPherson's PM can send out a form stating you can make your monthly rent payment at any local MacPherson's office and it not be true. You must send your payment to the agents office you rented from or you can have them do an automatic deduction each month. They do not have an on-line payment processing program. Which is too bad, as it allows the renter a better way of paying the monthly rental charge. Our agent also seems to have a problem remembering what he told us. Nothing seems to get written down or followed. We cut the grass in June prior to moving to our unit. Our agent told us to deduct $30.00 for the service. So in August I deducted the $30.00, today he wanted to know why I had made the deduction. He also does not remember telling us it was ok to replace the blinds in the living room. Our townhome was clean, but no cleaning service did any cleaning. I know this from the neighbors, but we were told the unit was professionally cleaned. It was cleaned, by the owner. On the whole I like our new home. We plan to stay here at least 3 years, I just hope during that time our agent learns to take notes on a Blackberry. He needs it. read more

With his excellent knowledge he gives us timely and accurate advice regarding our houses. He seems to recommend good renters for our houses and displays good communication with them. For the past few years, Greg has been an exceptional property manager for my duplexes. When I first acquired them, they were occupied by some difficult tenants. Greg helped to improve the buildings and get reliable and decent new tenants to move in. He has been excellent with the upkeep and created a quality place to rent. Because of Greg's exceptional management skills, I now have the security of low turnover and I am making more money on my rentals. read more

This company is by far the worst people I have ever met, especially Cynthia Harden and her manager Cheri. We moved into an old townhouse and soon realized that the large size of it did not compensate at all for it's deficiencies; everything broke all the time. And Macpherson always tried to blame us first before trying to fix it... which ended up being quite a while after it should have been fixed. Eventually, something big broke.. the dishwasher piping was old and not updated and flooded our entire downstairs. The entire kitchen was ripped out, all the flooring and carpeting downstairs... basically half of our place was unusable. Macpherson was no help; they took three days to even send someone out after it was reported... Then they expected us to keep staying there and pay full rent... after a MONTH of it being still not being fixed... they suggested we move to a hotel but refused to compensate us for the cost of a hotel. They claimed for the remainder of the time they would prorate our rent as long as we weren't physically staying there... so we were forced to move to a hotel for 30 days. Then another MONTH LATER (still not fixed!!! after TWO MONTHS!!!) they made us move back in because they didn't want to prorate our rent anymore! We still were camping out in our own "home" because the kitchen was still being rebuilt... they were lazy about ordering cabinets and laminate and we had to suffer because of it... before the kitchen was even done, they let us know due to the remodel our rent would be going up by $200 a month... !!!! At this point we were so stressed and done with the whole thing... we decided to move. We had taken very good care of the place and were at least relieved to know we would get our $2000 deposit back. Oh man, were we SORELY mistaken... they claimed our 4 lb dog that is extremely well trained caused enough urine damage that they had to rip out the flooring and carpet and replace it... after all the crap they put us through, they kept our deposit by lying about it all... be warned. These people are vicious and have no heart... they will try and get as much money out of you as possible.... it's sick how they treat people. Don't rent from them... Especially if you get stuck with Cynthia Harden. She has NO tact and no sympathy for people. If you do get stuck with her, make sure you document absolutely everything... write it all down and DO NOT talk to her on the phone, stick to emails or texts... she lies and goes back on her word. I can't imagine a more incompetent and difficult company to deal with than MacPherson's Property Management in Bellevue. The entire span of my lease the agent I was assigned to, was slow to respond to issues that came up with the home and constantly made excuses for anything that needed correction. The agent has been unprofessional to say the least. To further complicate issues, the initial walk through was rushed and over in 15 minutes while many issues were ignored or glossed over. During the final walk through the agent preformed an intense close inspection and discovered many issues that existed upon our move in. All of these have been attempted to be taken from our security deposit. There has been no compromising or discussion allowed from our end regarding these issues as we've been ignored repeatedly. After attempting to resolve these issues we reached out to the branch manager for assistance and after one conversation have not been followed up with at designated time or had any return calls since. If you find a dream property you would like to lease from this agency please reconsider and save the thousands in lost money you will undoubtedly be screwed out of. read more

I have been with MacPherson's Property Management ( Bellevue office) for over 2 years. We moved from California and had to do everything on line. Our lease manager is Tami, she was very helpful and made the transition very easy. The home was clean and everything in good working order. Every time we've had a problem, she has been prompt to fix it. I have never had any issues with them and I am happy to say I've had a very pleasant experience with this company. Tami is very professional and courteous, she understands, both, the needs of the tenants and landlord. I met the actual home owner and he was very happy of how well his home was being taken care of " You have taken very good care of my home" I guess I was one of the lucky ones, not only did I end up with a good Management Company, I ended up with a good Landlord as well. Stay away from this company. If you own any property do not hire them. Cherie Haven is so unprofessional. She said she would be our manager and oversee our accounts.Feeling we were getting the manager as our account rep we expected knowledge and ethics. My wife and I had an appointment to meet her and she didn't show up. When we tried to reach her the voicemail was full on her cell phone so we called the office the next day and a receptionist told us (after being on hold about 10 mins) Cherie was sorry she had an emergency and promised to call back to reschedule. She never called to reschedule even though we tried to reach her several more times. If this is the manager and how she handles business then I wouldn't work or trust anyone at MacPhersons. We ended up with Winderemere managing our 3 rental homes and they have been great, responsive and ethical. There are good and bad companies and reading other reviews here which I wish I had seen before. Cherie already has a very bad record. read more

Do not hire this company to do your property management. I am a landlord and hired them to manage one of my rentals. I had great renters until they decided to move out. Before they moved out I had to go to the rental to have someone measure the place to replace the flooring, (because Lee was not available)as soon as I walked in I could smell the strong cigarette odor which I had specifically told Lee I do not want any smoking allowed. When I left, I called Lee, he is the worst person to return phone calls. I had to call him several times before I could get ahold of him. I told him about the smoke and at first he tried to deny it. According to their contract they do routine checkups on the rental to make sure everything is going well, but aparrently Lee never went to check on our place otherwise he would have noticed the smoke smell right away. I told him it was going to be hard to rent the place again because of the strong smoke smell. He said that once they move out the place would be fine and not smell. Once the renter moved out, we had to replace the carpet, repaint the whole place and hire a cleaning lady to clean the place since our renter did not clean at all before moving out. I called Lee and told him that the smell was still very strong and that we should keep some of the deposit to cover the costs. He at first tried to say that we couldn't do that. It seemed that he was working for the renter not for us. I then called Ruben the supervisor. I told him about all the problems I was having with Lee. He said he would talk to Lee and call me back. I never received a call back from Ruben. When dealing with Lee it was like talking to a wall every time I told him what I wanted he would give me some kind of excuse and tell me what he thought was better. They never communicated with us about any repairs they did, we had to pay for some repairs that the renter should have paid for. I had so many problems with their management services that I had to fire Lee and cancel the management contract. I could go on and on about all the problems I had with this company. The only reason I hired a management company was so I didn't have to deal with all these headaches, but I got more headaches from the management company than from the renter. read more
