My husband is a career firefighter so he is on his feet a lot walking on concrete and such. His heel pain was so severe that he didn't even want to go outside and play football with our son anymore! I was diagnosed with perinatal tendinitis because of walking on the outside of my foot so much! I was in extreme nerve pain all the time! A friend from Church told us about the Good Feet store and how much it had helped him and his wife with their feet and back problems! My husband and I made an appointment at the short pump Good Feet store with Tamara. From the first moment we walked in Tamara was incredibly helpful. She is very knowledgeable and walked us through the product, taking imprint of our feet and also showing us the inserts. We both ended up walking out with the system they offer. My husband instantly felt relief from his heel pain and after about 1.5 months of using the inserts, my Tendinitis/nerve pain has 100% gone away. I also do not have lower back issues like i used to! I had been visiting a chiropractor at at least twice a month! I never understood how our feet and the way we walk affects so much of our body and can cause back and knee issues!. You can buy "Good shoes, "but they are only a Band-Aid and don't fix the actual issue! We cannot recommend the Good Feet store enough and how it has changed our lives! Take the time to make an appointment at the short pump location with Tamara! You won't regret it! Yes, a system is $1500, which felt huge in the moment, but it is an investment in your future. We both got our lives back and we couldn't be more grateful!

I bought a pair of Dansko XP2's on Black Friday (11/24/17) this year at the Walking Company in the…read moreNewport News, VA area. I typically have difficulty finding comfortable shoes 1) because I have had severely flat feet my entire life and 2) because I had surgery on one foot last year and am still experiencing significant discomfort and inflammation which is still being addressed by my podiatrist. At the time of purchase, the clerk advised that as long as I didn't damage them (wear them outside, etc) I could return them with my receipt within 30 days. I kept them for a couple of weeks (trying them on at different times of the day because sometimes that will affect the way a shoe fits) but then decided I should go back to the store and discuss the fit with the sales associate. So I went to the Tuckahoe store, explained my situation to the associate there, tried a different size and decided to exchange them for a smaller size in the same style (XP2). I stayed with this style because I liked the option of the removable footbed since I typically use orthotics in my shoes (per podiatrist recommendation). This associate advised that again I had 30 days (assuming no damage) to return if I wasn't satisfied. I kept this 2nd pair for a couple more weeks but unfortunately concluded that this fit was too snug. So yesterday (12/30/17), I decided to return to the Tuckahoe store and either exchange for the original size (and live with the large fit) or to try another style. It was a different associate this time so I again explained my issue. Although I really wanted to stick with the XP2, I decided to go with The Professional instead. When it was time to make the actual exchange, I was informed by a different associate (who I eventually learned was the store manager), that this would be my final sale. She said that the 30 day exchange period was based on the date of my initial purchase on 11/24. She went further to say that based on that I was technically outside of that window but that as the store manager she would make the exchange for me this final time. I was in shock! No one had ever mentioned the 30 days starting from the initial date of purchase. It would make sense that the 30 day period started when you made the purchase regardless of the original date and it would also have made sense for me to have been advised of this when I made my previous exchange..but okay fine. Now knowing this is a final sale, she then asked if I was completely sure that this was the pair I wanted. Well no I'm not completely sure, but what choice did i have?...Refunding was not an option either (although, based on my receipt, I was within 30 days of my most recent exchange, but I was outside of their 30 designated day window) so I was going to have to leave with something. To add insult to injury, the new pair was less expensive than the original, by $15, so I was informed that I needed to purchase something else to make it more of an even exchange...really? And when I did select a cleaner/conditioner product there was a difference of $.10 which they were trying to get me to purchase more product to cover. They, of course, could not give me the $.10 so I told them to keep it but they claimed they couldn't do that either. I had already purchased 2 unexpected products so I didn't really want more, but after reviewing my receipt, it appears that the addition of state sales tax covered the whopping $.10 difference. It should also be noted that they felt the need to confiscate all of my original receipts and my new receipt was marked "ALL SALES ARE FINAL". This experience was so upsetting to me that I actually called the customer service center today. I wanted to find out if this was truly their policy but all I really learned was that they are mainly customer service for the online market. All they could say was that some stores crack down on exchange/returns because some people violate those policies. Well that is all well and good, but I am not one of those people and I resented being made to feel like I was in the wrong. It was obvious that the shoes had not been worn, were in their original box and I had both my original and exchange receipts. I wasn't trying to hide anything or get over on anyone. But if it is your policy, to only allow exchanges within one 30-day window, then fine, it should be stated up front. Although everyone was super nice in this store, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth because I felt as though there were implications made that I had done something wrong when all I was trying to do was find the most comfortable fit and make the best purchase I could. I really like the Dansko styles and they are great for my feet when I have the right fit but I can definitely say there will no more shoe purchases from this store for me.

My worst customer experience since contracting salmonella from a bad Subway sandwich in 1991. And…read moreit cost me nearly $600. In hindsight, I only have myself to blame for walking in the door at 9320 W Broad in the first place, after having read a glowing profile of company founder Ray Margiano in a franchising publication. I have plantar fasciitis and overpronate, and had already seen a podiatrist. The experience started with a color-coded foot-scan, the results of which the co-owner, Mrs. M-B G, walked me through with the help of a skeletal foot model: a "biomechanical gait assessment," I believe she called it. As she brought out $250+ shoes for me to try on, alongside costly hard-plastic orthotics, Mrs. G underscored her certified-OT credential and her husband JG's engineering background. I walked in several pairs, none of them feeling comfortable. Mrs. G said it was natural to feel like I was standing on a metal bar -- that my feet would strengthen and acclimate over time. She tried to seal the deal and have me buy a black and brown pair, alongside a pair of $40 rubber shower slippers, three pairs of ventilated socks, a hard-plastic "ten-year" orthotic, sole-inserts to place above this orthotic, and, for good measure, a $5 rubber ball to roll my feet over every morning. The whole thing was to cost me just shy of $800. I balked at the price and said I would come back after doing more homework and consulting with an orthopedist. To which she immediately darted to the clearance rack and presented me with these heavy, motion-controlled rocker shoes: "half off." I tried them on with the hard-plastic insert and liners, during which she retrieved a pair of heavy rocker ancient-Olympics-style sandals and the $40 Korean shower slippers: "closed-cell design," she touted. We went back and forth over my uncertainty over paying approximately $600 for shoes and accessories that felt so obviously uncomfortable. I asked to use the restroom. Mrs. G told me that there's was not for customers -- that I'd have to use a nearby fast-food joint's; another customer was waiting for her attention. Apoplectically, I asked her how they could justify denying someone use of their restroom and still expect them to fork over nearly $600. Mrs. G responded -- no joke -- that the cost of the shoes reflected her training as an OT. (These better be great shoes, I remember thinking, as I reached for my Amex). As she rung up the order, Mrs. G tried to up-sell me on shoe cleaners and a couple of rubber stress balls. I passed. Long story short: these shoes were a complete flop, and only made my feet feel worse. I followed the instructions and gave them second, third, tenth tries for months, even as my orthopedist (a foot specialist with his MD from UVA) urged me to throw them away; he'd seen others who had been remorsefully pressure-sold by Foot Solutions. My experience with this store was so bad that I took my case to company founder and CEO Ray Margiano. He was nice enough to field my emails and calls, but ultimately responded that none of the above-mentioned violated their franchisee best practices. Ok. So it is. I will not, however, rest until I get my money back. I urge Dr. Margiano and Mrs. & Mr G to read the bestseller Delivering Happiness by Zappos's CEO and founder Tony Hsieh. Zappos has a 365-day return policy and a fraction of the margins enjoyed by Foot Solutions. It also has incredible customer goodwill. Foot Solutions can count on the very opposite from me. To read more about my $576 experience, search for @FootSolutions on Twitter, where you will find more about high-pressure-upsell tactics in the quasi-medical foot pain business. I will be taking my complaint to the Better Business Bureaus of both Richmond and Atlanta, where Foot Solutions is headquartered. I urge you to avoid this store and chain, and instead avail yourself of a good orthopedist and New Balances or Rockports. Saxon Shoes is a good local example. Online, Zappos cannot be beat for selection and customer service. Don't fall for what I did.

Okay...off I went. I arrived at 11a. I needed to be downtown by 1. Should be plenty of time to look at 1 shoe....right? Both workers were helping customers. I waited 45 min to be helped. In that time period they checked out a customer who came in to just pick up an item.....but couldn't see fit to get me the one shoe I came in to look at. The customer in front of me left without buying anything and specifically said to the sales associates......I was in a hurry. YOU were the one that took a long time. So I got the impression she really had not listened to the customer. I asked to see my chosen shoe in 2 sizes as I wasn't sure how this brand ran. She insisted on measuring me......and then still ended up having to bring out both sizes. Mind you I am now on a time crunch as I had no idea it would take this long. They do some sort of parlor trick on balance telling you, you need some sort of balance help in your shoe. I DID NOT COMPLAIN OF ANY PAIN WHEN I CAME IN. I SIMPLY ASKED TO SEE AN EXACT SHOE IN 2 SIZES. The shoe could be ugly on my foot...why are we going through all this. LISTEN to what your customers are asking for. STOP pushing your agenda. She would not let me just try the shoes on to begin with. After putting inserts in that were painful............she offered to downgrade to something else that would probably not be that effective. The chip on her shoulder about being a "medical professional" was totally off putting. If the shoe looked right and felt ok I was ready to purchase immediately. I should have been able to come in. Request the shoe to check it out. If it didn't fit or if I actually complained of an issue......by all means hammer away with all the ways you can correct it. But waiting around and witnessing how you didn't listen to your other customers and then also didn't listen to me is NOT exemplary customer service. I bought the shoes because a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush....but the experience was so remarkably bad I really felt the need to warn others. To the workers....I cannot stress enough......LISTEN to what your customers are asking for. STOP pushing your agenda.

Not a sole in the entire store except her and another cashier/employee at two different lanes. Neither greeted me btw. I did though and then I asked for an item which I was alerted before I could finish that it wasn't in stock, and wasn't even an item sold there. I asked out of confusion, "why didn't your store sell them?" She replied because nobody wears them. Immediately I knew this employee had an issue, with something or someone probably herself because I'm somebody and I'm asking you for the item so apparently somebody where's them. Your comp right next door was outta of stock or they didn't have the sizes I needed. I was buying for my entire family. Maybe it's because I wasn't wearing her favorite color because she had red coloring all in her head that looked stank with clearly a stank sarcastic attitude to match. FYI if you are in the customer service business and you refuse to give good or choose rather poor customer service just get out of the business. Times is already bad economy wise. I'm spending money that definitely doesn't grow on trees. The last thing you want is not only for money to not come in, You also don't want people running your future sales away. It's ok maybe it's not for you. Businesses will continue to go out of business unless the management checks the employees bottom line, especially considering the times. There's someone else who needs a job but more importantly actually likes what they do. Not sure if I'll ever be back to shop here, unless desperate.
