This place is AWESOME! I went here to look for a suit for my wedding and ended up getting the perfect suit, with a tailor-made white button down shirt, with my initials engraved. I was thinking that all of this would cost around $1,000 but NOPE it was 1/3 cheaper than I had expected. I looked freaking fantastic and felt fantastic on my wedding day. I worked with Alex and he not only settled my nerves around the big day, but answered all of my questions. He did all of this conversationally, I never felt like it was a sales pitch, and it was such a lovely experience. I need another reason to get a suit! read more

I was a refugee from the Men's Wearhouse, and this little shop was like an oasis for me. Both the salespeople I worked with were engaged and knowledgeable. I can't judge the cost because it has been years since I've bought dress clothes, but because of the quality of the service, and of the merchandise I ended up buying, I'll return to Jos Bank if I ever need dress clothing again. read more

I'm surprised to see the reviews this low. My fiancé and I walked in with a very unique and complicated situation that we needed assistance with. Byron and especially Penny could not have been more helpful! They fixed an issue we were facing with the group wedding code (to no fault of theirs). They spent a decent amount of time ensuring everything was corrected and fixed for our big day. They were extremely helpful and very patient with us. I would return to this location. read more

The worst Stay away from Gayton Crossing especially the horrendous Tuxedo Rentals. They have a central Tux Wearhouse in Pennsylvania and use Fed Ex to ship to the stores. They use poor quality and they come to the stores in wrinkled condition with poor alterations. Forget about using this company at the last minute. If you choose to rent don't get the Abboud Shoes they will hurt your feet. Stopped in for some dress shirts, was greeted than ignored for 10 minutes. They have multiple different fits for dress shirts, I was able to find my size and brought it to a mustachioed salesman who informed me that that "don't do try ons in those." He offered to measure me but that was "all he could offer." I know my size in dress shirts, what I don't know is how I fit in the multiple different offerings Jos A Bank had in stock. What's the point of a brick and mortar store if I can't try your stuff on? Poor business model, and terrible customer service. read more

I visited this Jos A Bank with the intention of buying a full suit. However, when I walked in I was greeted by no one and was aimlessly walking around the store for 15 minutes before a sales rep finally approached me. Once I finally got a sales person's attention, he was not very friendly to me, nor did he treat me like I should have been in this store. I understand that I am a young woman shopping in a men's suit store, however, I am still a paying customer and want to be treated as such. read more

I went into the store today at Short Pump, Va. There were two employees working on the computer at the front desk. There was one other customer at the far end of the store with no one helping them. Neither employee acknowledged my wife or my presence. We looked around for 3-4 minutes when finally one came over and asked what we were looking for. After telling him he turned around and said xxx will help you and walked away singing "it's a wonder day at Joseph Banks". The individual helping us was a new employee who was learning how to operate the computer system. Thru no fault of his own, he tried but the store did not have any shirts in the size needed. In fact they had no dress shirts with a 32" sleeve. He said he thought they could order it, but after several minutes of stumbling thru the computer inventory told us that apparently they were not available. The other "seasoned" but very unprofessional and obnoxious employee, who again started singing loudly it's a wonderful day at Joseph Banks, never offered to assist him or us during the visit. We have been previous customers however I will never set foot in the store again. Went across the street to Franco's and found exactly what I needed, with a professional staff and couldn't be happier. I may have paid a little bit more but it was better quality all the way around! read more

I have been buying from JAB for years, both in Tennessee and in Virginia. I have spent thousands of dollars with them over the years. But I agree 100% with the reviews about poor customer service . My experience at the Short Pump store has been so bad that I will never shop at a JAB store again. The first bad experience was about a year ago when I bought four pair of slacks along with some other items. As I recall, they said it would take about 4-5 weeks to get them hemmed so that I could wear them. Since I bought them for summer wear, that was a significant part of the season for which I bought them. I tried to get them to expedite the hemming of just one pair so that I would have one of the four to wear while waiting for the others, but they wouldn't budge. That was an irritant but not enough to make be either post a bad review or stop shopping there. My last visit to JAB was when I made the mistake of going back a couple of months ago. I needed a new suit because I had lost a lot of weight and none of my old suits fit anymore. I had to go out of state and needed a new suit on fairly short notice. I went into the JAB Short Pump store fully intending to buy a new suit and probably some other items as well. The sales person (a woman) was totally disinterested in what I needed. She projected indifference. I was there on a Tuesday and told her that I needed a new suit a week later, by the following Monday, because I was driving to Tennessee on the next Tuesday and needed it before I left. She said that was impossible and that I could not get it with the needed alterations until about three weeks later. I explained that I was giving the eulogy at an out-of-state funeral, that I had to have a new suit because none of the approximately fifteen suits I had fit any more. (That figure alone should have been a hint that I might be a repeat customer, which she also could have known by checking my account.) She was totally indifferent to my needs and projected an "I could care less" attitude. I asked her if because of the unique circumstances, they couldn't allow me to get the alterations on an expedited basis. She was not the least bit interested in solutions or even mildly apologetic. In fact, in front of other customers, instead of having the slightest empathy for my situation, she essentially tried to shame me by publically accusing me of trying to jump ahead of other people. So they lost a sale that day of maybe a thousand dollars. No problem, they could not have cared less. So I went across the street to Franco's Fine Clothing in the Short Pump Mall. When I told them the situation and explained that I needed a new suit by Monday, the salesman said, "Would this Saturday be OK?" Now there was a guy interested in good customer service! That is where I will shop from now on and I will never set foot in a JAB again. read more

Went in looking to figure out what size shirt I needed to order. Instead of measuring me and figuring it out, states that he didn't think he had my size but could order it. I repeated that the reason I was there was to figure out what size to order. He walked off without resolving my question. read more

Went to the Sycamore Square store to look for tuxedos for a wedding party. What awful customer service. The guy didn't know jack about it. He should have been working at Foot Locker for all he knew about tuxedos. He recommended that we build it online like his "prom kids" do. read more

Jos A Bank is a terrible store that caters to baby boomers. Steer way clear if you're under 40! Went here to pick up an item purchased in another store. Was told they couldn't do it. I understand they can't just give me something out of inventory, but they made no effort to call the other store or accommodate my needs in any way. Didn't even show me where in the store the item was so I could buy one then have the other one returned. Utterly useless. If you're not spending a bunch of money on their out of date styles they won't give you the time of day and act as if it's the biggest inconvenience in the world. Bonobos, Charles Trywhitt, Ledbury, and Alton Lane are far, far superior options. read more

This store seemed fine until you had to pay for alterations. After spending $150 hemming slacks, shortening sleeves etc, etc we would go back and nothing was right. First a pair of slacks was missed, then a suit coat wasn't done. We went back 5 times and they kept trying to convince us the alterations were complete when the suit coat looked the same - nothing was done. They need to fire the person doing the alterations because they have no idea what they are doing. Went back last night, the slacks were finally done - but of course one of them were cuffed. Suit coats still looked the same ( a fold on one side by the arm). We just took them and will take them to a real tailor - will NEVER go back. read more

My fiance and I went to Jos. A Bank to look for suits for our wedding. We asked to look at gray suit separates and the employee (who happens to also be the manager) told me that they don't sell those. I told him that they do and I found them online, which is what brought us into the store in the first place. He challenged me and told me to find the website and show him. So I did. Then we sat down and he took all of our information and that of our groomsmen. After spelling out everyone's first and last names multiple times for this super slow typer, we finally got that out of the way. He then measured my fiance and claimed that he didn't have the actual clothes in the store, but allowed him to try on something similar. While he was trying on the incorrect pants and vest, I searched myself and found exactly what we were looking for (and in the heather gray color that he claimed didn't exist). Fast forward to 6 weeks later my fiance goes to another store location with our best man so that he can purchase his separates. Turns out, they had not only put down incorrect size information for my fiance, they had also put the entire order incorrectly. The manager at this location fixed the screw-ups and also called the short pump location to let them know how badly they had done their job. All is well, but I wouldn't suggest using this store to anyone, ever. Not worth the frustration. read more
