The town was one of the stops on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad line. It is also marble rich and provided marble that built the Minnesota State capitol in the early 20th century. This beautiful city hall is not just a government building but also has a scenic gardens with nature trails around the place. The area is popular with the locals and at any given time there are people there walking their pets and or people taking leisurely walks....and because it's a small town you can bet the folks that work here are friendly too... its a nice change of pace....

Since that time we've had four separate visits from the code office. All of these visits were to reiterate codes that we were already complying with. This last visit they decided to leave a warning saying they're going to issue a citation for something at the Officer at our home. Two days Prior had told me it was within the code and is clearly stated as such. We completely regret moving to this city and it's clear they don't want new residents. Get your code office under control. The whole city is not an HOA.

THE WILD WILD WEST!…read more Since we were in the area, we decided to check out the Historic Downtown District of Acworth. Upon arrival, I realize that we are just in time for the classic cruise event which takes place approximately five times per year. The proceeds, (from participant registration), are used to support a local charity. These events are perfect for the classic car and truck enthusiast because there was an exceptional turnout of presenters and such a variety of vehicles. Historic Downtown Acworth was the perfect venue for hosting the cruise due to the cool nostalgic vibe from the train that runs along Main Street and the varied shops and restaurants housed in original restored buildings. It was really like taking a step back in time. The weather was great and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The downtown events are a great opportunity to bring residents together and welcome new visitors to the city. The city will be hosting A Taste of Acworth on Oct 17th from 10am until 6pm, so mark your calendars as this is sure to be a very popular event!

I've seen people do engagement shoots, family photos, etc on the bridge as well as over on the rocks. We have not done photos here we just come here to explore the area and let the kiddos run out some of their energy. They like to run back and forth on the bridge and play on the rocks as well as explore the playground.

This park is a little off of the beaten path. It is really scenic and worth the effort to get to…read more I went on a day that was a dreary, but the upside was that nobody else was there. The rain also made the little falls rush a little bit more dramatically. The main attraction is the now covered with graffiti bridge. Historical and full of vibe. The trails are not that long but if you go all the way around you will be able to get some cardio. I think that you could sit and get some inspiration here, if your that type of person. I would recommend checking this place out at least once.

Lauren was a dream to work with. I sing her praises! Our wedding day seriously wouldn't have been possible without her. The Rock Barn itself was super clean, easy to set up, extremely flexible, and just gorgeous to look at! Of course a diy venue has its own challenges, but most importantly it allowed us to bring our wedding day ideas to life. We got to use our own vendors and decorate the way we wanted! This historical marker commemorates and celebrates the location of Georgia's only surviving rock…read morebarn. Built in 1906 by Augustus "Gus" Coggins. The marker reads as the following: Crescent Farm Rock Barn The Crescent Farm Rock Barn was constructed in 1906 by Augustus "Gus" Lee Coggins. One of a rare number of rock barns constructed in Georgia, the Rock Barn, together with the nearby Georgian Revival style main house, constitutes the core of the original Crescent Farm. Originally a racehorse stable, the rock barn was one of three barns on Coggins' cotton and horse farm. It was built to replace a wooden barn destroyed in a fire which killed valuable race horses. The Rock Barn is made of rock quarried on the original farm from the banks of the Etowah River. Coggins bred and raised horses for harness racing. Crescent Farm was widely known in the racing circle because of Abbedale, its world class horse. Abbedale brought fame to Crescent Farm and is listed in the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY. We attended a charming summer's morning wedding here over the weekend. There's ample parking when…read moreyou consider the space for the adjacent Wills Park. The house is small, but it was enough to offer respite from the warm summer sun for small groups, and to allow set up of all the food. The cakes were in the large parlor with the fireplace and piano. The buffet was in the smaller room off to the side - made it a little tight and warm, but with a small party, the line moved pretty fast. The gardens were a charming setting for the intimate ceremony. There were 8 tables (10 chairs each) on the grounds and another 4 on the wrap around porch. The guests (with the exception of the immediate family who sat in two rows at the front) just sat at their tables to watch. The band set up in the gazebo closest to the parking lot. I have to admit that much of what made it lovely was the weather, and having it at 10am helped that.
