Ten Eyck Brown who also built The Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, GA. It's one of few surviving buildings in Georgia that was built using marble from the area. (I believe the marble is from Tate, Ga) If you look up you can see four eagles above the column thingies and they were sculpted by two local sculptures David A.H. Couche and B. Maloni. It's an impressive structure with it's gleaming white marble and it's formidable presence. I almost expect a bunch of men walking out of in white robes speaking Latin....it looks like it belongs in Athens, Greece... It's located in downtown historic Canton not far from the Historic Canton Cannon Park. Next to the courthouse is the Cherokee Justice Center as well as the superior court. It now houses the Cherokee County History museum and visitor center. It a pretty cool building to check out for a photo opt. If you're ever in the area.

Since that time we've had four separate visits from the code office. All of these visits were to reiterate codes that we were already complying with. This last visit they decided to leave a warning saying they're going to issue a citation for something at the Officer at our home. Two days Prior had told me it was within the code and is clearly stated as such. We completely regret moving to this city and it's clear they don't want new residents. Get your code office under control. The whole city is not an HOA.

There is a lot of parking in the garage and an elevator to take you to the right floor. I was grateful to the other kind ladies that gave me directions. I went thru security quickly. Stood in line to check in. All really smooth and efficient. Big room with lots of screens to update you on information. Although I was selected for a judges trial, the case never came to fruition and we were cut loose just before lunch. I made $30. Excellent.

The trail of tears actually begins in Cherokee county about 2 miles from where the gold mine is located. The gold mines were worked on originally by the Cherokee Indians themselves near a town the called Sixes...Probably named after the 6 gold mines. Then after they were forced off their lands a lottery system was put in place giving the lucky winner 40 acres of land for them to do as they chose.It came to be known as Gold lottery of 1832. The marker itself reads as the following: Cherokee County, located along Georgia's gold belt, figured prominently in the gold rush of the 1830's and 40's. Several mines operated along a five mile area near the Etowah River in the northeastern part of the county, including the Franklin-Creighton, Sandow, and latham mines. More than 30 other small placer mines extended southwesterly across the county and included the Sixes Mine, worked earlier by the Cherokees. After the 1860's, most gold mining operations in the county either slowed or ceased. The creditor refused to speak to me saying that it has it went to collections while knowing that debt is not collectible in Texas if it's over 7 years. During the pandemic when no one was able to work, I a law firm was paid to handle my debts, but they are no longer in business. The court is claiming that they are collecting for Fayette County, but I didn't receive any notice from them of a pending garnishment. In fact, one of the matters went to court and was dismissed because the attorney didn't show up. My friends are saying that the judge was paid and with all the corruption I keep seeing come from Fulton County, I don't doubt it.

For some strange reason I always sit in my vehicle before I go into the Courthouse and go through my purse just in case I forgot to take my pistol or numb chucks or vice grip out of my purse. Why? I guess because alcohol and crack really do kill your brain cells quickly. I have a fear that there is going to be some thing in my purse that I normally wouldn't have in there and I end up embarrassed or in jail. Once you are allowed to enter the areas past the security guards it's a breeze. I have noticed on a few occasions that there is a sanger (you know a singer) that works here. And she likes to get her sing on all over the place. I have yet to see her, but she has a lovely voice. I enjoy hearing her from time to time. Otherwise, it's business as usual in this building. The employees here are much more polite than at Fulton County and usually quicker than Clayton County. They are more in line with Henry County or Fayette County government offices.
