I hadn't been here in years, but I was so happy to stop in when I got thirsty at the dog park. The interior is beautiful, warm and wooden and art filled. Lots of seating. The baristas were so kind and welcoming. I got iced black tea and a delicious chia seed pudding. I was relieved to see that it was vegan and made with coconut milk. The fruit in it were at peak freshness. The bathroom was clean. There were stacks of free Antigravitys and handmade holiday stationery for sale. The pastries looked amazing. So the first couple of times they were on vacation but when I finally had brunch there, we were very happy. Lots of free parking in a cool, but not overrun area. Two of the barista/cashiers are very kind. Good menu esp for a place with no cooking. Great mix of coffee, tea and a few grown up drinks. Siphoned coffee, in house roasted and delicious. Beautiful decor with exposed brick, seating in and out. New Orleans Indians descendants' are the photo gallery, although no photographer is given credit. What could be improved: bathroom wasn't super clean, one terse counter girl. Next, the food pick up area is cluttered with condiments, water spigot, plastic wear, some silverware, terrible paper towels but no napkins. This is also where recycling, trash, dish bin, compost, reside and we noticed most tables were not clean; it's a lot of small messes--and not in a cool way. I met a few friends for a long visit at Cherry Coffee Roasters. The ambiance is great with a mix of people from students, businessmen, and moms. I ordered a chai and it came out piping hot. What I love is that if you eating/drinking in, you can get a real coffee mug. My friends each had a coffee and a tea and both loved them. The baristas were kind and caring, unlike other places that roll their eyes when I ask for low-fat milk. I love the exposed brick walls and the outdoor seating. If you get a chance and want a break from the norm I would suggest stopping by. read more

This location next to Wisner Park was previously the old Laurel Street Fire Station and then it later served as a New Orleans Recreation Department Community Center before the city auctioned it off which led to us being able to enjoy some great coffee at Cherry Espresso Bar. They serve some great coffee, tea and other tasty beverages along with a selection of baked goods. This is a great spot to enjoy your caffeine and it has a good variety of seating options both inside and outside. Inconsistent coffee. I guess it all depends on who's making the drinks. I came one morning and my latte was excellent. Like one of the best lattes I've had in the city. Because it was so good, I came back the next day for another latte. It was lukewarm and didn't taste right. Super disappointed. Also I asked for it to go, but it was served in a cup to stay. No biggie, I poured it into the small to go cup and it didn't even fill it up half way.... Felt like I was scammed. And their small lattes are $6.... Not cheap. I won't be back. read more

A friend told me that this is their favorite coffeeshop. As an avid yelper and overall social media person, the first thing I do before going anywhere is check their yelp and Instagram profile. I was ecstatic to see a lot of pictures of dogs and reviews surrounding dogs. When we got there, we were surprised that we were told that dogs are not allowed inside. Now, I understand that a lot of establishments don't allow pets. I do typically go out of my way to only go to places that do allow dogs. So imagine my surprise that we were told this after seeing a lot of reviews from others regarding bringing their dogs and seeing dogs all over Cherry's Instagram profile and even calling some of them "regulars". And, seeing dog treats on the counter. I then asked if they have a menu for me to look at while I stand outside with my dog, and I was just told "no". Safe to say I'm never coming back.
