I've been drooling looking at their sandwiches on social media for a while and I finally did it in person. It's very classic deli. You pull a number when you get in, they call you, then you put in your order. They are fast, efficient, and nice. We got two specials so we could trade sandwich halves. Went with the cardini and the Roxy. The cardini was a delicious crispy crunchy chicken cutlet rave. The Roxy was a creamy cheesy meatball extravaganza. Quick service where you take a number when you walk through the door. This can get a little confusing but, you order at the second counter past the first counter. I ordered The Polly which is labelled under Hot Sandwiches. Of course, it had to be on focaccia. Idc what you say. It went on focaccia for $2 extra. A sandwich is incomplete without chips so naturally I picked up a bag of cracked pepper chips. The wait was about 5-10 mins. During my wait, I enjoyed the retro-esque decor and design of the interior scape. It's intimate and cozy aka smaller sit down area with 5 to 6 tables. The Polly per website: Grilled chicken, smoked gouda, bacon, Calabrian chili hot honey, arugula in Calabrian vinaigrette Absolutely stellar. Chicken was tender, juicy and seasoned well. Went to Francolini's for a Friday lunch. I've been following them on Instagram for a while and their specials looked so good! We walked in, took a number and looked at the menu and specials posted. We were soon called to the spot where you place your order and I got the Cardini special and my SO got the Roxy special so we could split. The sandwiches didn't take very long and they were delicious! The Cardini was my favorite - crispy chicken cutlets, pancetta, garlic and pepper aioli, and basically Caesar salad on sesame seed bread. It was perfection! The Roxy comes with juicy meatballs, ricotta, lemon zest, basil and melted mozzarella. It's an adult meatball sub, and I'm here for it. Check out the menu. The counter will call your number and you give your name and order. Then proceed to the register where you pay and pick a drink if you desire. They'll call out your name when it's ready. Kind and patient staff! I was definitely a little anxious not knowing how it worked but they were nice to me limited indoor seating but lots of seating outside out back! My sandwich was sooooo good. Today's special had Italian sausage from Gonzo's Smokehouse (if you ever see that Gonzo's is part of a special anywhere, ORDER IT. YOULL THANK ME I PROMISE). I've been stalking Francolini's for quite some time now. I think I've liked almost every post they've shared on their IG. Interestingly, I went there twice to buy gift cards without actually purchasing a sandwich. The workers were always so friendly! Finally the day has come, I decided to buy a sandwich, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Uncle John...WOW! The crumbled hot Italian sausage had a wonderful flavor, you can taste the Italian seasoning, complemented by the sautéed bell peppers and onions. And that provolone cheese pull!!? YUM! We were craving sandwiches and found this place by accident! Walk in, take a ticket and order when your ticket has been called. We waited about 10 minutes. I ordered The Italian (added red hot peppers), and my husband ordered The Raphael. They give your bread choices: seeded, unseeded or focaccia. Both sandwiches were really good a filled with lots of meats, cheese and all the fixings! Add the vinaigrette and it's as delicious as it is filling. The peppers add a nice sweet kick. I was only able to eat half of mine and took the other half home. They also sell bags of chips, all kinds of sodas, seltzers and teas, pasta salads and desserts. We shared a bag of Maui sweet onion chips and one of Batterina's chocolate chip cookie cheesecakes! The overall vibe is casual. The staff is friendly and they are working very hard - all of them! The atmosphere is very authentically New Jersey Deli, with a streamline ordering process and friendly faces throughout! The stories about the long lines at Francolini's Italian Deli have become legend. And for good reason. The sandwiches they put out are spectacular. Today, we Ubered over and stood in line. The store is neat and clean, the hard-working Staff are the epitome of hustle, and the restroom very clean. There is limited dining space inside, and a larger, very nice patio area outside, with cafe tables. The table had Betty Whites ($15.29) on Focaccia, which is such a large sandwich, my better half and I easily shared one. So Flavorful! The 7-inch sub rolls come fresh from the Ralph Brennan Bakery, using a house-recipe. The Focaccia bread is house made. Earlier this week, we ordered from Francolini's via UberEats, which I have found very fast, reasonable, and reliable. So I highly recommend Francolini's Italian Deli, with the CAVEATS that you check their website for scheduled hours and closures, and their Instagram page for any updates. Order ahead if you can. Parking is tight if you go direct, so take someone who can run in to the store for you while you drive around the block. Finally came here for lunch while uptown and I must say the sandwiches deserve the hype. The food here is great, I had the standard Italian and it blew me away. Great sandwich shop I suggest going for the special day cause they're usually can't go wrong small inside so I would suggest ordering online that way you don't have to wait. You could just come in and grab your sandwich to go. If you do go in there's only a little bit of counter seating so choose your options wisely but definitely if you go on a Thursday and get the Italian beef special so good. read more
