Omg what happened to this place. We stopped last night about 750pm, not too late and we were seated as the place seemed empty. We waited about 40 minutes until someone finally said sorry y'all , we are super busy.We ordered two bento boxes and I upgrade my soup to wonton. First the soup came out and it was as if the wantons above the water line were sitting under a. Heat land and all yellow. Then out and then bento box and the Goya was hard as a rock, the rice, cold and not even an egg it in . The tempura was ok but the dipping sauce was also cold. The young man who served us never even asked once if everything was ok. I mean for over 50.00 for two people, would have gotten better food at the mall. I eat here all them time but I feel this was like thrown my hard earned money out the window . Shame on you. read more

Came here with a group of 8 for lunch. The service was EXTREMELY slow. Some folks ordered hibachi, but they made it in the kitchen, even though we were sitting around a hibachi grill. Like, what's the point ? Then the server accidentally turned the Grill on by leaning over to serve us and hitting a knob. A person in our group had to point out the unattended grill. The food was just ok. I would have given this place 3 stars if not for the restrooms. They had 2 restrooms and neither one was a WOMEN'S restroom. Anybody could go in either one and some guys had PEED ON THE FLOOR. I complained to the manager. I have no idea why a restaurant would not have a clean space available for women only. For this reason alone, I will not be back. I suggest that Management puts a women's restroom in place. read more

We ate here for the first time yesterday. We ordered several sushi rolls which were delicious but the hibachi dinner was not great - the noodles were so dry and unseasoned. I wish we went to the restroom before ordering because I would have walked out. I have never been to a restroom so disgusting. I started to look around after that.. the floors and walls were gross. I understand some things being on the floor but with how much was built up this place hasn't been cleaned in a while. We both ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, and let me tell you--it was phenomenal! Flavor-packed, perfectly cooked, and felt like a little escape to Japan. The portions were generous--enough for two--so I took half home and it was just as delicious the next day for lunch. Service? Top notch. Probably the best sushi in the Lake Wylie / Rock Hill area (we haven't eaten other food other than sushi here). They offer pretty good lunch specials and the sushi always tastes fresh. I normally like to sit up at the bar, and sometimes service can be a bit slow (but always friendly, and I can tell that when I say "sometimes slow", it is because they are busy, and not just being on their phone or anything). Great for take out as well! I'm extremely picky with my sushi, and like I stated, my personal opinion, is that it is one of the best in the area. We had a great experience coming here for lunch. The food was delicious and a good size for the price. I would get the bento box with shrimp again. The shrimp was a good size and I loved the variety of rice and sushi with the bento box. They did not give me the soup and salad that comes with the bento box. I had to ask and they brought it. Cherry sushi and Asian food was awesome. They do want to cooked and raw sushi rolls. Being from the West Coast, I wanted to try the Lake Wylie roll which did not disappoint. The service was friendly and prompt. The ambulance was beautiful with their red chairs. It looks like they do hibachi cooking too at a U-shaped table and cooktops. Love this place for hibachi and sushi discount mondays! Half price sushi on dine in or take out. Highly recommend Singapore mei fun noodles if you can handle a bit of spice. Bento box is also a great take out go to. There's a secret menu you can ask for as well. Recommend splitting the hibachi as portions are huge! We've been to this restaurant many times before and usually have a great experience, but this visit was disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the "shared adult" hibachi dinner (an extra $7.00), but the service was extremely slow and our appetizer wasn't even hot. They only brought one soup and one salad instead of two, which has never happened before. Then, when our meal came out, it was served on a single normal-sized plate placed in the middle of the table -- no extra plate for sharing. Every other time we've ordered the shared meal, they've split it between two plates, so this was confusing and awkward. To make things worse, I thought I found a small eyebrow hair in my salad. The manager insisted it was puréed ginger or carrot and did replace my salad, but still -- not exactly appetizing. When we mentioned to the waitress that we usually get two plates when ordering the shared meal, she just shrugged it off. The portion itself wasn't much, and honestly, I think we would've been better off just ordering one entrée to share instead of paying extra for the "shared" option. Definitely not the experience we're used to here. Hoping this was just an off night, but we left pretty disappointed. read more

We have been to many hibachi places all the way from Las Vegas to New York and this by far is the best hibachi place I've ever been to in my life. Ling was our hibachi server and he was amazing from the second that he walked out of the other room with his cart. The food: everything was seasoned amazingly and the steak was cooked to perfection for my spouse and my chicken was perfectly juicy and moist. In our hotel the soup was the best soup that I've ever had...the base of the soup tasted as if someone really put their soul in it. It was clear as water and layered with so much flavor. The server: our server was very attentive she brought our drinks, salad and soup out hot and quickly. She also had a great sense of humor. The cleanliness: everything was very clean there wasn't a dust resting on the table or a speck on the tiles. The forks and plates were also very well cleaned. The bathroooms were clean and had a fresh scent of lavender. We ate dinner here last night. Was able to go right in and sit down. We wanted hibachi. The salad came out with ginger dressing. After I started eating it, there was water in the bottom of the bowl. The salad was prepared earlier and the lettuce had watered it down. The clear soup was ok. I ordered the veggie plate, it was alright. So much food was left over. We've lived in the area for over 5 years and this was our first visit to Cherry. We were not disappointed and were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming Asian restaurant. While we were fine with just a table for two, the restaurant does boast hibachi tables which families and friends were definitely enjoying. There are a few booths for seating and outdoor dining is available too. I had a bento style box and my husband had Sushi. He is diabetic so is discouraged from eating anything raw and the cooked options were clearly identified. Everything was prepared to perfection - really. The only negative might be the pineapple in my bento box was obviously canned - too bad when fresh is so readily available this time of year. It's hot as H E double L hockey sticks, and cooking in my parents house heats up the entire place for hours, so I have ordered ahead several times to take to go. Location is super cute inside, and the gentleman who has helped check me out (I think one of the owners) is always very pleasant & helpful and has my sushi ready to go. Hot Kiss is my FAV & Super Crunchy are both my "go to's", but I've never had anything I've not liked. Doing 4 stars instead of 5 only bc I haven't eaten inside so don't feel comfy doing 5... but highly recommend it off my experience read more

We visited Cherry Hibachi Grill in Lake Wylie last night and it was probably the best hibachi I've ever had. Not only was the food amazing, but the whole backside of the restaurant is a window that overlooks the lake. You just have to ignore the parking lot and road. Apparently this is a busy place, but we had reservations for our party. It didn't matter, when we arrived at 8 pm it was not terribly crowded, even for a Saturday night. Don't let the fact that it is in a strip mall fool you, this place is great! We began with Money Bag appetizers. They were fried treats with a mixture of different stuffings and served with a deliciously tangy sweet chili sauce. They looked like little presents and tasted even better. The hibachi comes with a salad and a bowl of onion soup. The salad dressing I chose was the ginger dressing and it was thick and orange, not at all watery. Very full of flavor. My friends opted for the shrimp sauce and it was creamy and delicious, but not quite as flavorful. It is much milder than most shrimp sauces I've tried. Also, we get 2 jumbo shrimps as a little appetizer as well. Mine were big, pink and juicy! Next time I'll order those for my meal. The hibachi I chose was Filet with Scallops. It is often hard to get your steaks and especially your scallops cooked properly on that grill top, but our chef did it perfectly. My steak was tender and just salty enough with the soy cooking sauce. My scallops were seared perfectly and large and plump. Alongside your proteins were rice, noodles, zucchini, onions and mushrooms. This restaurant is definitely a new favorite. I can't wait to go back! *originally posted on my personal blog. read more
