Even if an item isn't for sale, they still keep most fruits well below supermarket prices (ie: tomatoes for 79 cents a pound!!). Mostly Asian and Central American fruits and veggies. Bay leaves, lemongrass, rice noodles, tortillas, and pretty much everything that one might need to make Indian, Thai, Chinese, and Mexican foods. While I was living in Jersey City, I'd come to this place almost daily and very rarely was I displeased with their selection. Friendly cashiers, fast service. One of the better shopping options in West Side's main street and as stated before, best/cheapest produce that I have found so far in Hudson County. Debit minimum of $7, Credit minimum $10.

Every Tuesday, from 2-7pm, there are various vendors at Bayonne farmers market selling produce, hot foods, baked goods, and other edibles. Lizzmonade is here and there's also a fellow who sharpens knives and a table set up for face painting. I was very impressed with the variety of veggies here. Brussel Sprouts, all sorts of zucchinis and squash, and of course great Jersey Tomatoes and Sweet Corn. It's actually located at 23rd and DelMonte, but this address is almost on the dot. Just west of Broadway along 23rd street... right by the mini-golf course.

The cashiers seem to frequently up-charge produce when listed prices by the product are lower. Ex: Vegetable is priced at 79c and cashier charged more. It may be only difference in cents but it is quality and principle that increases business. Transaction errors have encouraged me to see other grocery options

He sells "second tier" produce, meaning that it comes from what a supermarket can't use. He also has a small supply of dried goods and has recently starting carrying deli meats. Food Story is your typical Korean market. - if you have been to H-Mart, Mitsuwa, or Ranch99 it's the same style and layout with many authentic Asian groceries sourced from overseas and a food court for fresh Korean and Japanese dishes like ready-to-eat Korean fried chicken, poke bowls, and sushi. To my surprise, they have a wide selection of Japanese foods, more so than HMarts. And they have Korean-style thin-cut frozen meats in a fridge near the rice section - but they don't have a butcher section, so temper your expectations. Although most of the groceries here are relatively expensive, their prices are mostly on par with regular prices at many Asian markets. But, other markets offer far better weekly sales - Food Story doesn't have a circular or website, so it seems they dont offer sales. I did however find some special discounted prices for random items throughout the aisles. One downside that stood up is that many of the price labels were misorganized and placed under the wrong items. So, take care to match the UPC or you may have a bad experience with the cashier at checkout (something that I saw some other reviewers complain about). Overall, Food Story is a solid addition to the neighborhood - a convenient, albeit pricey, option for Aisan good lovers.
