We decided to order one day and man was I blown away. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the salad. I ordered my friend a chicken quesadilla that she just had to finish. It's been a while since I've ordered from Tost (for no reason other than I don't order out much anymore) but I was craving a bacon, egg and cheese today and didn't want to leave my house. I ordered through Grubhub. My husband got the Honey Tost and he liked it. And of course my BEC was delicious. Delivery was really quick. I got a cappuccino which was surprisingly really good. The Koka Moka smoothie is nice too (my hubs orders that whenever we do order from Tost). I ordered 2 plain cheese quesadillas, one with no pico de gallo. They were for my kids for later so I didn't open them right away but from what I saw they looked okay. 15 min later my doorbell rang again and the delivery guy handed us another bag of food. They must have given us the wrong quesadillas the first time (when I finally looked closer they had chicken in them). They didn't ask for them back, just let us keep them and the new ones. I'm happy that they noticed and corrected the mistake right away without me even saying a word. And now I've got extra quesadillas that for sure won't go to waste lol. The chicken soup was basic but tasty and I would get it again if I feel like a soup. I've had their salads before too and they were yummy. The Mango smoothie is delicious. Can't speak for in house service as I've only ordered out. But no complaints on delivery even with the little mixup (I know it happens, I work in a restaurant). This is a pretty solid lunch spot. My coworkers and I order from here frequently. We mostly stick to the salads. They used to be much better in price, but now getting a salad with 3-4 items runs $10. Most salads are $12. Its not really worth the price that you pay any more. The biggest upside is that they are very fresh! We usually stick to a chicken Caesar, or we make our own. Also fair with the prices, Tost always has customers inside including the Queen's college womens tennis team. I enjoy this place because you can eat healthy if you choose. I do wish they had whole wheat pasta. The owner told me he would order it again, which was cool. There is a nice dining area in the back with plenty of seating and a tv on the wall in the far corner and a restroom. There plenty of coffee for coffee lovers, as well as tea and smoothies. I give this place 3 stars because it is not bad, but not that great either. For this part of the neighborhood that is severely lacking in decent lunch places, you will find that your company orders here frequently since there is not much else around. On occasion, I have ordered their coffee, omelettes or chicken quesadillas for lunch. Although the portion sizes are very decent, this place is very expensive for the sub-par quality. This is because not only am I spoiled from similiar eataries in Astoria, but because the food itself lacks a lot of flavor at times. The coffee is definitely lacking in all departments and is salvageable after lots of creamer and sugar. If you have time, there is a Dunkin Donuts down the block that you can visit after you get your food here. Overall, I am displeased to say that I will probably still order from here when I am desperate and hungry. The quesadilla is somewhat decent and it comes with chips and salsa. I'm a regular at this restaurant and was surprised at the service I experienced yesterday. The customer service was off from the staff at the counter to the line cook . They did not seem inviting at all. I told them that i wanted to dine in but the woman at the cashier kept asking if im sure if i wanted to dine in. While waiting for my food, I went to use the restroom, it was so dirty. Toilet seat was up with stains everywhere. Floor was filthy as well. Tozt combines the laidback bodega feel with a more healthful and extensive backboard menu that harkens the selection available at places like Pret A Manger. There is a full salad bar that allows customers to select from a variety of greens, proteins, toppings, and dressings. Salads are prepared with acceptable celerity and the only small complaint I might have about overdressing is one that I find myself making at nearly all salad bars. Wraps, paninis, and burgers are what my fiancé and I usually end up getting here, and they are all just fine. There are small inconsistencies in taste that we quibble about as we eat ("This chicken tastes a little like tuna today" or "These chips are a little stale"), but there is nothing so egregious that we're moved to vow never to return. If you're only here to grab a snack, Tozt also functions as a deli-style space, with a very decent bar of baked goods (not made on site), chips, and drinks. There's something for everyone here for a fair price to boot. There is also a small seating area and a restroom in the back where we often find college students from the nearby Queens College campus putting away meals before class. Two warnings though. The prepared lemonade here is diabetes in a cup. I've had my share of sweet drinks, and this had my system sugar-shocked with a few sips. Get it if you're curious; avoid it if you want to sustain any modicum of health. The other heads-up is for strict vegetarians and vegans - there is a veggie burger available here BUT they prepare it with a pat of butter on the grill. I came here for breakfast with a good friend. The quality of food is good as it's freshly prepared in front of you and the price is reasonable. This deli features a gargantuan selection of beverages from ice tea to vitamin water to energy drinks to carbonated and non-carbonated drinks as well as soda. Tost Cafe carries Glacéau's Vitamin Water of green tea which I have rarely seen. There is a decent size flat TV screen that displays news from CNN for patrons to keep in touch with the world while sitting having breakfast. Tost Cafe also has a good selection of local newspapers as well as Chinese newspapers for purchase which serves the Chinese community of Flushing and beyond. After failing to find someone to deliver platters to a friend who just lost her fiance, an NYPD officer, I finally found Tost who would deliver on short notice to her apartment. The day scheduled for delivery was the day of the funeral. I wanted her to start her morning off right and have all her breakfast essentials, should she want or need them. Unfortunately, I didn't find out till much later in the day that she hadn't slept at the delivery address I requested, as the commute would be too much for her to travel to the funeral home. I called this morning hoping that this issue could be resolved and that the food could now be delivered as comfort. I was informed that that was not possible, that the food had been DISCARDED because no one was there for delivery. I understand if the coffee was thrown away but not the bagels and danishes. I even tried to offer to pay extra for additional delivery just to make this happen for the widow and just kept hearing that's not possible - as per the manager and that we could not have that delivered. I understand that this is a business, and I am sure they were frustrated to deliver items that could not make it to the final destination, but I am discouraged at their inability to be compassionate in my friend's time of need and that they were completely WASTEFUL. $60+ just wasted. I just moved to the area and was so excited to find my go-to salad place. I ordered the Santa Fe salad with Cajun chicken. It was terrible. All I tasted was Cajun spice, as if I were to eat a spoonful of salty seasoning. The onions and tomatoes were in big chunks. There was no tortilla strips. They just put in nachos. The coffee tasted worse than dunkin, and I personally don't think dunkin is bad. I got mozzarella sticks, and these are frozen sticks. This is a cafe, not a corner deli. Tost Cafe was a life saver when 2020's lockdown hit. They have the best breakfast specials--I especially love their Healthy Omelette made with egg whites. When I have a bad cold, I make sure to order their chicken noodle soup because it tastes like homemade and is fresh. Tost will also adjust your orders to your needs if you wish. I love their Koka Mocha Smoothie because being lactose intolerant, it tastes great and has just that wee amount of caffeine(from ground expresso beans)without making me jumpy. Tost also has their Create Your Own Salad bar with many choices. When they deliver to me, food arrives packaged securely--especially the hot liquids which are wrapped up in plastic wrap to avoid spills. They also have wonderful brownies. It's a little shop but the salad bar has lots of ingredients. The menu is large they have hot food, sandwiches, breakfast, smoothies and desserts. For my lunch I got a spicy chicken salad.. you choose a bowl of salad base and tell the cook what ingredients to top it with. My salad was really good, that spicy chicken was the bomb! If you had asked me to write a review for Tost (then called "Tozt") five years ago, I probably would have given them five stars. But unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore. Nothing to truly complain about on the food front, but the prices are... a bold choice. They were always a little expensive, but the food was good, so it was fine. However, as the prices get higher, the food quality hasn't exactly gone up. Last time I went, the staff wasn't as friendly as they used to be, and I paid almost twenty dollars for a meal that only a few years ago cost me closer to fifteen.
