We have worked with Cheryl for three sessions now. First, when our twins were around 6 months old. Second, when our twins were around 9 months old. Third, around 1 year old. The first two sessions were at Cheryl's studio near the Korean victory bell, and the third sessions was outdoors. Cheryl's studio is in a very unique part of town, and we enjoyed exploring the area before and after our visits. The nearby Korean friendship bell and its park have an amazing coastal view. If you happen to be in the area on Saturday, you might be able to check out the model railroad club, and it's detailed train scene. We found Cheryl to be excellent working with kids. It is extremely challenging to get their attention and get them to smile. Cheryl was also very flexible, working with us to include our favorite outfits, props, poses, and other little details. My wife loves how selective Cheryl's wardrobe is. Cheryl always works around our twins' napping/feeding schedule, so the kids can show up at the happiest mood. She was also very patient, giving us time to feed the kids their bottles. My wife and I never feel rushed while working with Cheryl. The photos themselves turned out beyond our expectations. The quality of the photos is outstanding. Our twin boys are growing up so fast, and we are thrilled to have taken the time to capture their early stages (with Cheryl's help). We've had a great time sharing the albums with friends and family. Overall, it has been a great pleasure working with Cheryl. She is responsive and easy to communicate with over email. Ok, I seriously can't say enough how much we enjoyed our experience with Cheryl. Think about what you would like and expect from a business and you'll get that plus more with Cheryl. This is especially important for someone handling your newborn baby. I'll itemize some highlights from our experience with Cheryl: Communication- This was our first impression of Cheryl and her business ethics. She was prompt to return messages, professional in her tone, and accommodating to our requests/needs. Place of business- Her studio is located in the Angel's Gate Cultural Center. We've been before, so it was easy to find. There was plenty of parking available. Her studio was SUPER cute and cozy. She had a ton of props, outfits, backdrops, etc. She allowed us to go through her items to see what we'd like to use for the shoot, which was great because her stuff was MUCH cuter than the items I brought. The lighting inside was great. She had 2 heaters running to keep our baby nice and warm during her naked shots (nice for the baby, but we were sweating our butts off! Make sure to keep that in mind). In-person contact- Ok, this is the area where we were most impressed!! Cheryl is SUPER sweet and incredibly PATIENT. Our newborn wasn't the most cooperative, but at no time did Cheryl show any signs of frustration or any indication that she was just trying to get the shoot over with. On the contrary, she was determined to get great shots, no matter how long it took. She took into consideration our baby's mood and adjusted the shots accordingly. She was also SO GREAT with handling our baby. You can tell she definitely enjoys what she does. She treated our baby like she was our own...and she was great at picking up her signs (when she needed to be swaddled or when she needed to go to the bathroom). She was also amazing at calming our baby down. This is our only experience with a newborn photo shoot, but I'd venture to say that Cheryl is one of the best at what she does! The first time she photographed our son at 12 days old for his newborn photoshoot. She was so gentle when she helped swaddle or pose him and really took her time to get good shots. Cheryl is amazing! We have used her three times in the last year (newborn photo shoot, Christmas mini session, and most recently, one year milestone shoot), and we're blown away each time we receive the edits. As a mom of two boys, photo sessions can be stressful because they're not always willing to cooperate! But Cheryl is always very patient with us and the boys... and you can never tell that my toddler was not happy to sit still and smile for the camera. She is always calm and collected and never rushes us. Cheryl is always very responsive when I email her and offers many suggestions to make the shoot go as smoothly as possible.
