Today upon meeting face to face for the first time she went over again the details of what we had previously discussed and assured me that she would only go through with the technique I was asking for if my hair proved to be strong enough to withhold (which it did, thankfully)! Camila was super attentive and made sure to explain everything as we went through the almost 5 hour long process of the balayage technique. I haven't been to an actual salon for at least 15 years....this was a huge step for me as I like my hair a certain length. When I came in, my hair was just above my butt. I asked the girl to cut my hair to my shoulders, a big cut for hair that long. My back was kept to the mirror for the whole cut so I could have the "big reveal" when she was done. I forewarned her about my curly hair and I had exceedingly high hopes for the cut to make my curls more bouncy. When I was turned to the mirror, I was in quite a bit of a shock....my hair was a bob!!!! Well above my shoulders and basically to my ears!!! I replied with the usual "I love it" because I was just seriously shocked! I didn't want my hair that short, I specified my shoulders, not to my ears!!!! I repeatedly said shoulder length and my stylist got a little over zealous with the cut! The staff and patrons were very nice and I'm honestly not sure if she intentionally cut it way way WAY too short, or if it was an accident. I was just hurt that she didn't listen to me and now I am stuck with a too short haircut that I can't even put into a ponytail. I didn't think the place was bad per se, it was clean and they were nice people......but my experience was a huge let down, I am very disheartened and this is probably my last salon visit for at least another 15 years! I am stuck with this until it grows out, but I am so completely unhappy by this new do. I am placing two stars for the haircut and my stylist not listening to me and just doing what she wanted. The salon itself seemed nice and the other patrons seemed happy, I just think the stylists need to listen to their clients!

The stylist informed us she would need her hair bleached for the color to take. After sitting in the chair for approx. 4 hours her hair was several shades of orange, gold and tan. He then gave her the cut which he spent approx. 10 mins on. She has long pieces in several areas and it's choppy. He then put the color on and waited 25 mins. The color was not even close to what she wanted. It was intended to be a dark green, I have never seen such a shade of turquoise. We were told it would last 2 to 4 weeks. After one wash using Redken Extending Shampoo her hair was several shades of green and blue. All this for $300. I realize this is not an easy procedure, I was more upset by the lack of detail on the cut.

I've had some that have been less then desirable, and some that have blown me away in that I had no tension knots and was pain free for a long while after the massage. This one however was by far one of the worst massages I've ever experienced. The woman was nice and courteious, but the technique and skill were defentially lacking. She did more of a stretching and pulling on my limbs and joints, a lot of pressure points and "karate chopping". I informed her clearly that my trouble spots were my neck/shoulders and lower back, figuring she would spend most of the hour focused there and working on the knots. Boy was I wrong. I mentioned at one point the pressure could be more, and the karate style chopping began, it was awful and did nothing. She then proceeded to pull and stretch my legs and arms, my right knee has been swollen and in moderate to severe pain since my experience with her, something "popped" during her tugging and pulling she called "stretching". My shoulders ache and hurt more now then when I walked into her salon. The place is VERY small, and for lack of a better word dingy. I saw she had a hair dressing chair in the front and offers hair and waxing as well as holositic healing. Perhaps she is better at the hair and other services, but I will not be returning, nor reccommending to anyone i know. Should have spent the extra $30 and went somewhere I knew I would gain relief.

Marcella is the way to go. Marcella knows her accupressure, and finds me relief. I feel so great afterwards, ready for anything. I'm thinking there was a communication breakdown somewhere with Erin M. because Marcella is so easy to talk to and if you just let her know what's bothering you, for instance, if you didn't take well to "karate chopping" or whatever you perceived it to be, just say so! Marcella is professional and accomodating, and a pleasure to converse with. I usually like to be quiet during my massages, but for some reason I was a yakker for my two massages and the quality of the massages did not suffer for it. I will try to let her do her thing on the next one. I won't stop coming to her even though my drive there is long, it is so worth it. The relief lasts longer than just the day unlike some other quick fix 'massages' I have experienced at other places. The place is simple, I find it charming, nothing fancy, just my cup of tea. I booked an appointment with a stylist (who recently did everyone's hair at my wedding) for a balayage with the understanding that it would be a CARAMEL color due to the box color build up in my brown hair. What I did not pay for, however, was copper and bronze highlights that looked nothing like the consultation that took place. In addition to the sub par attempt at a balayage, I was charged for services that were not discussed OR brought to my attention prior to execution. It was only until I questioned why my bill was $266 that I discovered a bond builder and glaze was necessary to achieve the penny-colored highlights I received... I wouldn't have been as upset had the stylist asked me before she performed additional services, but I do have a problem with making a decision and making me pay for services without discussing it with the client. I find it absolutely appalling at the response from the manager via email when I stated I wasn't happy with my hair. To say I was berated would be a gross understatement, but I'd like to warn the next person in case they aren't happy with their services and feel the need to bring it up to the manager. Please see the attached photos of the email from the manager, Sasha, in response to my criticism of a disastrous balayage and questionable charges. I have redacted the stylists name from the email out of respect for her, which is more than I can offer the deplorable, unprofessional manager.
