Unfortunately, this…read morelocation has a lot of issues with high turnover so my son has seen 3 different OT's in the past 9 months. Luckily, they have all been great. That's where the pros end though. The front desk people are all miserable all the time, both at the OT & speech buildings. My son's speech therapist is always irritated with him and needs to retire, I will be changing speech therapists soon. I've been told other speech therapists there are amazing though. So all in all this location is hit or miss and if it weren't for the great OT's, I would find another place altogether.

This Sentara Physical Therapy Center is located in the south most of the two buildings that make up…read morethe Sentara Greenbrier Careplex. The center is on the 2nd floor, which is accessible by elevator. This spot wasn't in the game plan for the day. I had driven my friend to Sentara Hand Surgery for injections in her fingers. She also had an injured finger that he planned to X-Ray. The finger turned out to be broken. Instead of injections she was given an appointment in a few hours at this Therapy Center for a splint. The lobby of the Therapy Center was small but the employees were very friendly, My friend was taken into an area separate from the main physical therapy area. There were two employees with a machine that made a glove like covering that fit perfectly on her hand over fingers splinted together with a cloth covering between the two. It was impressive. She was instructed on how to remove and replace the covering and had to show proficiency in doing the task before leaving. The therapist who made her splint and glove was extremely nice and assured my friend could that she could call if there were any problems, it was a wonderful level of care. I'm not sure where Sentara has similar capabilities. The one in Greenbrier was excellent.

The parking entrance is to the right shortly after coming onto the road. The first set of parking you'll pass is the physician parking area. Keep going around to the main entrance. There is signage pointing to the main parking area. There was plenty of parking available, including handicap spots. The most recent visit here was on July 17, 2024. I wasn't the actual patient for these visits, but it was for my mom after having a wrist fracture. They don't have the hand therapy at all locations, so this was the closest one. The visits would occur twice a week for eight weeks. The inside of the place is quite large in the therapy area. It is always clean and well maintained. You could see that they can cover many different types of therapies there. The overall process is pretty straightforward. On the first visit, they go over the insurance information and what the copays, if any, are for each visit. This was also the time to fill out any paperwork and such. For subsequent visits, it was just checking in. The overall therapy process went very well over those weeks. The first part of it was for healing and the other part was for strengthening the wrist. There was a genuine care and concern throughout the process. There were times where they changed it up a bit since it was affecting her shoulder (the one she had a replacement on the year before). If you are in need of therapy, this place is worth checking out if it's close to you. There are several locations throughout the area.

I was excited just to meet Wanda in person because she was THAT amazing over the phone. I arrive to my first appointment a little late but thanks to Wanda, I filled out all my paperwork beforehand so I didnt have to wait long to once I arrived. I feel seen and heard, my son is also seen and respected. It means so much to me that no one is trying to "fix" or change him, but instead, they are fostering a trust based, child led approach and building a relationship with him. I needed someone to understand that many of his behaviors help him to regulate and are not harmful, that's exactly what I got.
