I found this place through google if I'm being honest. We moved back home and needed to get a…read morespeech therapist for my kiddo. There weren't a ton of reviews I could find, so we went in a little skeptical. The parking lot is pretty spacious, while the exterior and interior are very clean and well maintained. My kiddo sees Kami, and I really like her. She seems like she actually enjoys her job and she's very patient. My kiddo is kinda apprehensive towards strangers but he warmed up to her well. They give you the option of letting them go back on their own, but you're welcome to go back with them. The helicopter mom in me makes me have to go back, but he doesn't seem distracted at all by my presence, probably because Kami has all the cool toys lol. Not sure what other kids do, but Kami has hands on toys for my son to use while working on words, think puzzles, playdoh, cars and even a Mr.Potato Head. We've been coming here a few months now and I'm happy with the sessions. I feel like he's starting to say more words properly and I'm understanding him a lot easier. Not only me, but extended family members can understand a bit better too. I'd definitely recommend bringing your kiddo here for speech therapy!

I know therapy and therapists are not one size fits all, but we are finally at home at Ivy rehab and my son feels loved.

We went to Schie Speech after a recommendation from our midwife for latch and breastfeeding…read moreassistance, and unfortunately i have to say it was a severe disappointment. At our first appointment not only did we have to tell her the equation to use to determine how much milk our baby was getting comparative to her weight gain, we received minimal advice and she simply watched me nurse her. Following that appointment we waited for them to contact us regarding what our insurance would cover as far as appointments and it took over a month for them to reach out to us to schedule. I called three times before getting a call back to get scheduled. After finally getting scheduled, two of the appointments were cancelled on us the day of the appointment (so over two months had gone by since our initial appointment) after all of this, we never got back in and received a $500 bill for our first appointment. it's really outrageous and the "care" you get is in no way worth the amount of money they are charging for a basic initial appointment. i really recommend finding a much better speech pathologist if you're looking.

Two Years of Delayed Care, Diagnostic Overshadowing, Disability Barriers, and Dismissal…read more I first raised concerns in August 2024 because my son was constantly sick. At that time, I knew nothing about autism, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, mast cell disease, or any of the conditions we would later learn about. I was simply a mother trying to understand why her child was always ill. My son was originally scheduled to be seen in August 2024. Instead, after nearly two years of repeatedly raising concerns and approximately ten months after being told allergy testing would not be performed and requesting another provider, he was finally appropriately evaluated today on June 15, 2026. Looking back, I cannot help but wonder how much suffering, illness, and lost time could have been prevented if our concerns had been taken seriously from the beginning. Throughout this process, I repeatedly encountered dismissal and diagnostic overshadowing. I am autistic, and after disclosing that, I was documented by this office as being "confused." That notation was deeply upsetting because I have experienced this before. Autism does not mean intellectual disability. Autism does not mean a parent is incapable of understanding their child's medical needs. Being treated as though I was confused rather than listened to created significant barriers to care. I also raised concerns regarding mast cell disease and cell activation disorders. I was told these conditions did not exist, despite providers publicly listing mast cell disorders among their areas of specialization. Obtaining even basic things, such as an asthma action plan, became unnecessarily difficult. I was told, my son who has level 3 autism, that I needed to bring another adult to help physically hold him down during allergy testing. There was no discussion about accommodations, sensory needs, trauma informed care, or alternative approaches for a disabled child. The message I repeatedly received was not, "How can we help?" It was, "How can you make this easier for us?" By the end of this experience, I had spent almost two years advocating for care that should have been available in the first place. Parents should not have to become researchers, case managers, and full time advocates just to obtain appropriate medical care. Disabled parents deserve to be believed. Autistic children deserve accommodations. And families deserve better than spending years fighting to be heard.
