I think I've been here enough times to give this place a review…read more I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new gym. I know there's a lifetime nearby too but it's so ridiculously overpriced and I don't use all the amenities to validate going there (having been a previous member). I love that wild horse is just a 6 minute drive from the house. It's usually the hardest part of going to workout - getting there, but it's so easy and there's always a parking spot open close to the door (since weather is in single digits!!) I'd say I go during odd hours since I have a hybrid work schedule. 11:30-2pm have 12+ people but it's never too crowded that I have to wait for a machine to be free (excluding today where everyone collectively decided to workout arms like me!) and 4-6p is when it gets a little busier, I bet due to people getting off work and wanting to get their workout in. Machines are clean as well as locker rooms. Towels are always available once you walk down to the floor or hit up the locker room to put your stuff away. There are cubbies where you can quickly stash your belongings as well. There are also jacket hooks in the locker room for colder seasons. The staff are all nice and friendly! The members are too! There's a wide array of machines for every muscle or variations of ones you've probably seen at other gyms. A ton of life fitness machines, free weights, cables, treadmills, ellipticals, stair masters, you name it, they've got it! Couples membership is around $130/month plus $100~ sign up fee Worth it to stay or get in the best shape of your life!

They're great for stretching, yoga, barre, and are typically not crowded. You should definitely check out this gym! Ps the patio is great!

When I tell you that Blue Ocean has changed my life, I really mean it…read more My two closest friends started working out here a couple of years ago, and after finally giving in to peer pressure, I decided to give it a shot last January. I'm coming up on my one year mark and I can honestly say it has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself! I never felt great about any gyms I've belonged to in the past. I'm not a huge group class person, and personal training has always been $$$$$. Enter: semi-personal training! Basically, each of the trainers here has a few clients at one time, but it still feels, well... personal. You get your own workout, there are just others around you doing theirs, and it actually adds a fun element of community at the same time. Instead of working out so hard that you can barely walk the next morning, the approach here is more reasonable and based on intentional repetition vs. killing yourself. I typically do three circuits made up of 3-4 exercises, 3-4 times each. My muscle growth has been slow but extremely consistent, and I'm finally seeing the exact results I've always wanted. Working out three times per week at Blue Ocean has kept me feeling so strong and healthy. As a bonus, when I have to travel for work, I can pause my membership--and they even give me workouts to do on the road. The trainers are fantastic people, and the clientele is great, too. I look forward to belonging to Blue Ocean for a long time!

I went 4 stars with this one, but probably more like 3-3.5 if a big part of your routine is based…read morearound barbell training. It's a good sized place, and clean. Management was friendly when I signed up. Had to re-locate to this one after the one in St. Charles closed down. They only have one power rack (plus a Smith, which I don't count). There's no deadlift platform, nor are there bumper plates. Fortunately, it has been pretty empty when I've gone, so there hasn't been a wait for the one rack. Ideally, though, they would get rid of the single-use bench, (or just move it over by the dumbells) and invest in another power rack like the one by the bathrooms. That way you could squat, bench, or press in both locations (or deadlift, since there's no platform). Oh yeah, of the two barbells, the gray one is in passable condition, but the chrome one is bent to the point that it is visible to the naked eye--so might not want to squat with that one. Overall though, it has worked ok when I've been here, so 4 stars.

The gym is super CLEAN, brand new equipment (with tvs on all cardio machines) and pretty quiet. The trainer is awesome if you want to guage how to train. The owner is really friendly. I would highly recommend frequenting this gym if you don't want the crazy atmosphere that most gyms have. Equipment is always available for use, compared to that of Club Fitness or other busy gyms. 5 star gym for sure!

When I first got back into the gym, post-covid, out-of-shape, I loved the concept of Orangetheory…read moreand was excited to try it. However, my body was not prepared for the intensity of the workouts. The treadmill running was particularly tough on an old foot injury. The instructors absolutely offered modifications to ease my foot woes, but my competitive nature didn't want to participate if I couldn't go all out. Fast forward 2 years later, I'm in much better shape physically and I decided to give it another go. The biggest challenge for me this time wasn't the workout itself, but rather to acknowledge my own limitations, resist my competitive nature, & heed alternatives to running - like walking on an incline OR using the strider. I enjoyed Orangetheory so much more this go-around, it's truly a great full body workout. I personally love the built-in variety, since you will always rotate between rowing, strength and treadmill work. If your goal is to maximize your one-hour at the gym, enjoy a mix of cardio & strength training, and burn a ton of calories, Orangetheory will deliver results. He was told he had access to kids clubs with his basic membership and I paid to have the second tier so I also had access to kids club. Since 2021 we've been taking our kids here to kids club, as well as the club fitness in another state when we lived there. Ever since it updated to Club elite, we've had issues scanning into the kids club area. They let us in, we scanned in to drop our kids off and went to work out. Now notice, we've dropped our kids off TWICE since the switch and nobody has said anything. Today I asked at the front desk why my membership wasn't allowing me in and was told it's because we don't have access to kids club. Even though they very clearly had our kids info in their system and allowed us to drop them off, but apparently they said they have no record of us ever having access? And we used to drop my oldest daughter off multiple times a week prior to the transition to Elite. Their answer was that they could upgrade us to the next tier. The price? Double what we currently pay monthly. Or we could reach out to their customer support as if that's going to do anything. So apparently loyalty means absolutely nothing. My husband and I will be switching to a new gym just on the principle, at the very least if you're going to remove access it needs to be communicated with your members
