I love chestnut! The coffee is delicious! The baristas always make sure everything is cleaned well due to my allergy!

Yes, that was a total bummer! I will be a customer at the Village Bakery & Cafe, but I give Google ai 0 stars!!!

This is a sweet little bakery and cafe on the square of the historic town of Pendleton. I have been…read morehere several times and have enjoyed myself each time. One side has a bakery where you can watch the delicious goodies being made. The other side is a small cafe. Although there is limited seating I have never had to wait for a table. I haven't gone on the weekend (pretty sure the Sunday morning brunch would be a different story). A friend and I met for lunch at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday. My friend had the Café Club with the pasta salad and a sweet tea. I had the Quiche of the Day, the pasta salad and a hot cup of Clemson Sunrise (Vanilla, Caramel & White Mocha). The pasta salad wasn't my favorite-next time I'll give the potato salad a try. The service and food were very good. The café closed at 2:00 pm. Since we were still visiting, my friend and I grabbed our drinks and walked a few steps to the center of the lovely town square and found a swing to continue our conversation...but that's for another review. The Village Bakery & Café is worth a visit whether it's to grab something from the bakery and enjoy a cup of coffee or to meet a friend for breakfast or lunch. Lovely outing.

They have HUGE portions for a terrific price. The first time I went here, I ordered sides with my…read morehamburger. First off, the hamburger was massive. It was the size of my face. I had to take home leftovers (which served me for two more meals). Since then, I've either ordered just the hamburger (sides) or made sure that it would be my only meal of the day. Very caloric. But SOOOO worth it. The burger, besides its size, is perfectly cooked and moist. You have topping options like chili, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. They also have a range of condiments/sauces at the counter for you to use during your meal. This is hands down the BEST burger in the area (much tastier than BGR and Jake's Wayback and WAY cheaper). The sweet tea is perfect as well. The sides I've had (fries, hush puppies, onion rings) have all been delicious as well. The decor is all Coca Cola. It's like walking into museum. It's very cute and interesting to look at. The business is family-owned I'm assuming. I've received nothing but friendly and prompt service. The outside of the Monk's Corner Cafe does seem sketch but don't be afraid to walk in! You'll be drooling before even going through the door because of the smells wafting to the outside. Warning: if you do use debit/credit, there is a small fee (I think 75 cents?). Just bring cash if you can. I honestly don't know why this place isn't more popular among Clemson students. I've made sure to tell all my friends about it and they've loved it, too. I HIGHLY recommend!
