Lovely space, very pleasant service, food was awful. I accept that I ordered an odd dish, the chicken curry, but I assumed it would be fine if it was on the menu at some a well-regarded place. I was wrong. It was served room temperature with undercooked rice and a chutney that tasted like bathroom cleaner plus a large glob of sour cream and unaccountably, some shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. It was inedible. My dining partner had an equally gross spicy tomato pasta. It tasted more like a tube of tomato paste and was thick and gloppy. I feel terrible writing such a report but man, the food was truly inedible. I suppose if you get a standard burger or something simple, they'd manage. read more

I eat often at Delish Sisters in downtown Clemson. I have never received a meal that was not tasty, well presented and most importantly delish!. But the thing that draws me to this atmosphere are the young men and women with special needs that work as waiters and waitress. They are polite and always on task. An inclusive restaurant with reasonably priced entrees in an upscale hotel just off Clemson campus. If you think Delish Sisters or Shepherd Hotel is just another upscale venue, do a bit of research. Owner Rick Hayduk supports and employs myriad Clemson LIFE students--ClemsonLIFE empowers students with intellectual disabilities to follow their career goals and experience life on a college campus--in all operational and customer service roles. In addition to supporting this amazing program, local and global artists with intellectual challenges are also featured in the store right next to the main desk. I dined near the beginning of the new menu for fall 2024, selecting the curry as my main dish + a side of Brussels. The curry was solid, but I cannot stop thinking about the brussel sprouts. These are a *must* order for one of your friends at the table, and the pumpkin cheesecake is Devine! Would rather have a drink? Walk up the central, spiral staircase to the third floor to Thomas Bar or visit the rooftop for a unique experience. I'm unsure of the service and food experiences Yelpers, Marcus G. & P.A. suggest, but as I dined with frequent patrons, they assured me they've never had such experiences. For our meal the service was attentive, food delicious, and dining experience was on par with some of my favorite restaurants. I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Sheperd Hotel and dining at Delish Sisters. While I feel confident in the food and service, I also know spending my money here supports Clemson LIFE students and their pursuit of independence. It's parent weekend and there is to go ordering or room service is NOT allowed - as the website advertises. Because they are "busy." You also couldn't sit at an open table to order 40 minutes before dinner ended because they were "busy." Fairly certain when you sell out the hotel, it's going to be busy. So, perhaps you don't allow people outside of the hotel to dine. One morning I ordered two iced vanilla lattes and waited 21 minutes for them. For a two night stay that totaled $2,500, I had to go elsewhere to eat. The hotel worried more about making sure people can drink on the rooftop than they care about the guests that are staying with them. As I talked to people throughout the weekend, this was the complaint countless times. The hotel and/or restaurant aren't properly managed. read more

The food is consistently good, fresh and portions on the larger side. Love their creative and very yummy desserts. Their menu is creative and changes with each season . The students/ servers and their partnership with Clemsons' Life program is especially amazing and creates a wonderful experience for the student and local community diners. Anyway, food just arrived and does look "Delish"; which seemed to have taken a bit longer than expected to get to our table. Presentation was nice, however, I found these to NOT be Home Fries and seemed like they had been sitting awhile. ALSO, found it odd that Egg style of choice is ONLY Poached or Scrambled. Came with a slice of Sour Dough but no jam/jelly/preserve offered nor on table. Atmosphere and decor was pleasant and not crowded which was nice. Some of the reviews for this restaurant are mixed, but I went with a group of about 30 people (granted booked well in advance) and the food came out promptly and was very good. I had the steak and it was very good. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot in Clemson, so if you are looking for an 'upscale' place, this is the go-to I suspect. Let me start by saying the staff are great, and the fact that there is clearly an amazing effort to employ specials needs people is fantastic, so I will continue to support this restaurant for that reason alone. However, upon arrival @ 11:15 am on Sunday, we were told the chef needed a "break" and would not be preparing food. They said they didn't know when they would start serving, nor did they know if they would still be serving the breakfast menu which is advertised to be served prior to 12pm. Y'all need to get it together- this is absolutely unacceptable in the restaurant business. Manage your business correctly! This isn't rocket science. read more

Had the pimento cheese sandwich with homemade chips. Excellent and attractive setting in the hotel lobby.

"Tried" to eat here but after ordering we sat, and sat, and sat waiting for our food. There were all of 3 other tables, who were already eating. I could see my food sitting in front of the expediter window for about 3 minutes, then my daughters plate appeared. After another 4 minutes I literally started the stop watch on my phone. The missing dish was a vegetarian flat bread. After another 4 minutes I walked up to confirm it was our food. Only after that did the manager walk over and ask what we ordered. In total, 2 of 3 plates sat in the window over 11 minutes with no sign of the 3rd dish. The manager never apologized and just said she wanted to bring it all together. We got our money back and went to Palmetto Smoke and Oyster House for a fast, yummy lunch. read more

This place is super cute but the food is subpar. The fries are very good. Well seasoned and crispy. They also have gluten-free options so that is a plus. I also want to acknowledge the fact that they actually know how to make an iced macchiato. Most places I go I order a macchiato just to see if they will do it right. I do this to test the quality of the espresso. Their espresso is not good, but the overall coffee tasted pretty good and it was made correctly, which never happens when I get coffee from places. The cashier was quite rude. I also work in food service and we are frequently slammed with customers, but I would never act the way she did, even in a stressful environment. She was super pissy for no reason. The wait was also kind of ridiculous. Our food was warm, not necessarily hot, but I watched as many plates got returned because they were put at the wrong table, so it probably was sitting at the bar for a while before it met our table. Also it was about $33 for one plate and 2 drinks. Seems unreasonable for the quality and wait. read more
