Popped into Chestnut Coffee this morning on my way out to Liberty, SC. I wish I planned my morning better to be able to grab a seat and enjoy the environment that was inside of Chestnut. You would not be able to tell the charm and warmth that resides within Chestnut by looking at the exterior of the building, but I cannot wait to stop by again when I am back in town for work! Looking for a local coffee shop in Greenville led me to Chestnut Coffee House & Local Market. It's located in an almost hidden residential area which has a handful of offices and retail businesses, so not the type of place you'd find unless you were specifically looking for it. They have multiple doors to enter which was confusing, so I had to double back to the counter where you actually had to order drinks. The interiors are spacious. inviting, and modern, as evidenced by the nearly 30 people I saw camped out at tables working away at their laptops or holding video conferences. They also have a nice outdoor patio space as well. I went with an order of a half sweet iced mocha latte. There's an additional charge for any added flavoring, so the drink set me back over $7 (before any tip). While I don't mind paying a bit extra for a great drink, I felt it was very average in taste and probably would have received better from a chain coffee shop. Service from the staff was friendly. I felt this is one of those more modern workspace coffee shops that's lost in a bit of an identity crisis with some market and prepared food items. Perhaps I'm just not their target clientele given they seem to have a loyal following, but felt Chestnut Coffee House was a pretty average and slightly overpriced drink experience for me. read more

This was my first time at Chesnut Coffee, I actively avoid the mermaid when looking for coffee spots and this place didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere (if you're a plant lover like me you'll love all the greenery) and the best London Fog I've had in Greenville! I also had the chicken salad wrap for $12 which was pricey but the salad was really good although the wrap itself was a little dry. I recommend this place and I'll be back! read more

To. Die. For. My best friend suggested chestnut and I couldn't be more grateful! This coffee shop is delicious and the staff was so helpful and friendly. Also affordable. 16oz for iced drinks. Inside the coffee shop is beautiful. Light pink interior everywhere with cute flowers and a great setup in case someone needed to work there for the day. Absolutely loved it. The place gives more of a boujee vibe, but when I visited it wasn't very clean. Lots of crumbs and hairs left on the table. I ordered a latte with came out to $7.45 when is excessive. I would give this price point a $$$ on the Yelp scale. The waitress didn't ask if I wanted a medium or large latte, so she assumed the larger size. I didn't catch this mistake in time as I would have been satisfied with a smaller latte size at a lower price. Very spacious room, but not a lot of outlet options. Staff was friendly, but wish they were more observant with the customers and cleaned tables more frequently. Would recommend Underground Coffee for more affordable coffee and larger sizes at reduced costs. read more

Coffee and scones are great as usual but for some reason today it took them about half an hour for them to make our coffees. It was not busy and they were not working on any other orders just chitchatting. I enjoy Chestnut. It's definitely a hotspot for studying and other laptop-work, leading to most tables and spots at the bar being taken. They have a wide variety of seating, and some spots outside. Chestnut is a nice place to meet a friend and talk since it has the connected market and Legacy park located Nextdoor. Variety of snacks and baked goods available as well, and even some ice cream. However, I wouldn't call the ambience "cozy" or a quiet reading spot. Definitely more busy. Tons of parking options. read more

Giving it 3 stars for a "meh". Overall, I like the location, the ambiance and space inside is probably one of the best in Greenville - very tastefully decorated. There is plenty of space at the bar or tables for studying with a friend or a group of friends. My first gripe is the price - it was almost $15 for two lattes! They use Methodical Coffee so the price isn't higher to support the additional expense of their own roasting process. It also took them almost 20 minutes to make said lattes and I was at the front of the line. It was a busier Saturday and they only had 2 baristas working, one of them that alternated between making drinks and taking orders. read more

I love this place! It's your typical modern coffee shop, but I am really impressed by the quality and taste of their coffee. I will say it is way over priced, like kinda insane for South Carolina. But it makes sense given the area that it's in. I would recommend their chai latte or the brown sugar latte (with half the syrup). And, if you're in to loose leaf, they have many options! I want to love this coffee shop as it's the closest to our apartment and right across the street from a nice little park, but the prices are just astronomical. I've started making my own iced lattes to bring to the park instead. Where's the fun in that? A regular sized iced caramel latte at my last visit was over $7. How?? The same size drink at any other local coffee shop (that also uses local milk + makes their own syrups) is either under $5 or $5-something. Super disappointing. Upon entering you are directed to register to place your order. Current available drinks are listed on large blackboards posted on the wall. Snacks are laid out near the register. While sitting and enjoying my drink it also appears they serve food, I did not notice menus in plain sight but they must have some. It is a clean coffee house environment. They also have a large parking lot which is a plus. The bar area does have hooks underneath for purses/bags, but there is not a foot rail so you are made to bend your legs back and place your feet on the chair. read more

There were so many other eager patrons there as well, so we had to wait 5-10 minutes to grab a seat. It was well worth the wait. My first drink, a latte with oatmilk sans sucre, was served warm. The barista brought it to our table. I stayed so long working that I ended up trying the chai as well. This time I requested that the temperature be hotter, and it was perfect. What a beautiful new coffee shop just around the corner from me! First off the decor is gorgeous! You walk in and you're instantly in love. I love the wallpaper on the wall and all the plants hanging around. Second, the staff are really friendly. There have different little treats that you can order to enjoy your cup of coffee. I've had their latte and their cappuccino. Both are great. I saw that someone had a matcha tea latte and that looked AMAZING. I'll be getting that next. Lots of space here!
