I feel like Cohesive Coffee is a little off the radar in Greenville. With lots of seating and offerings, this coffee shop is a good choice if you're looking for a place to meet up with some friends or work. This is the type of place where they make their own syrups in house (which I prefer). If you're looking for pastries, you're in luck because they have those too! When I visited I tried their brown sugar cinnamon latte and blueberry scone which they so graciously delivered to my table. I recently moved to this neighborhood, about a month ago, and I've been coming here multiple times a week. The staff are hands down the nicest in Greenville when it comes to coffee shops. This is a cute little place! The only problem I have is the drinks are incredibly overpriced for the quality. I paid $10 for a small coffee and they only had a few flavor options and alternative milk was an extra $1.25. The coffee shop I work at only charges .80. The coffee taste similar to what I get from most coffee shops, which is milk with the slightest hint of a coffee and flavoring taste. They had some good looking pastries, but none of them were gluten-free so that is a loss in my book. read more

I'm a fan. Cohesive Coffee is serious about serving excellent specialty coffee and creating a space for people of all stripes and interests in coffee. Vibe is chic and retro. The decor is a retro chic and minimalistic. There is also the open warehouse decor going on. The music choice appears to be chosen by the current baristas. When I was there they were playing Michael Jackson's The Girl is Mine, John Mayer, and Bazzi. I only know this because i used Sound Hound. There are plenty of tables, bench seating and a few couches. The seating is in line with their purpose to create a space at the table for everyone on the community. Equipment. At the time of this visit CC was using a La Marzocca classic Linea espresso machine. The ground pour over coffee on the Baratza Forte. Their choice of pour over brewer is the Kalita Wave 185. Their prices are excellent. CC was serving coffee roasted by Cooperative Coffee Roaster from Asheville. I ordered a pour over. It was clean and smooth with a good after taste. Delicious The staff was engaging and friendly. They had a relaxing and chill vibe. They have a few milk options and some baked goods. They were also selling some greeting cards and shirts. read more

What a challenging year it was to start a business (they started in August 2019 but that lead into Covid 19). Not only was it a difficult year to start a business, especially if that business is a cafe. And even more so if the vision of the business is to create community. So, kudos to Cohesive Coffee for making it through their first year. This is a sort of retro, sparse, open vibe type of place. I came to meet a friend for a discussion that would take an hour or slightly more. This was a perfect spot for our discussion. The coffee is specialty coffee, I get that, but a plain black cup of the coffee of the day was $3.75. I didn't think it was that special. I felt like I was back at an airport coffee shop - similar prices. But I look at it like this: I paid more for the coffee and really was "renting" a table for an hour discussion in a pleasant space. So, it was a bargain from that perspective. read more

This is a great first stop in the morning while or before getting some work done. The staff is friendly, the coffee is quality, and the environment is cool. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that it sometimes takes a while (longer than a typical coffee shop) for the team to make your drink but if you aren't in a rush that's not a big deal, you can chill and enjoy the environment while you wait. Came in yesterday to A) try out their coffee for the first time and B) sit in a coffee shop for the first time in awhile! First off - employees are extremely friendly! I really loved seeing their smiles and they definitely engaged in conversation. That is super nice to have in a coffee shop. Second - the vibe of the coffee shop is really nice. Plant collection is coming along. Pretty light blue wall behind the baristas. They have a couch and comfy chairs (from what I could tell). Since it's getting hot and humid, it was a little sticky feeling inside of the building. Air did come on but it would get pretty warm quickly. Definitely don't like a freezing coffee shop, so that is a plus, but in the dead of summer, a sticky coffee coffee is not my favorite. I wouldn't call myself a coffee connoisseur, but I wasn't a big fan of their coffee. I got a iced vanilla latte and the coffee seemed to get watered down very quickly (maybe because of the warm building). I drank the entire thing and I won't hold this one drink against them. I will come back to try one of their pour over coffees. Great employees, nice atmosphere, great seating. I will return! read more

I recently spent a day working at Cohesive Coffee and I loved my experience. Here's what I loved and why I recommend it to other coffee shop lovers and remote creatives: GOOD SERVICE: Everyone who works here is super friendly and welcoming. I was helped right away and received my order quickly. SPACE: There's so much space to spread out and relax! I'm used to working at tiny, cramped tales in coffee shops all over Greenville. The big tables and large, expansive workspace felt like such a luxury. I was able to spread my work area out and really relax into the space. INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SEATING: If your creative soul loves the outdoors as much as I do, then you probably love the option to combine your work with beautiful weather on a crisp fall day. Cohesive offers both indoor and outdoor seating which I loved so I didn't have to miss out on enjoying great weather because I needed to work from my laptop. QUALITY OF FOOD AND DRINKS: I ordered a Chai Latte and it was great. It was easy to order and served quickly in a modern-style coffee cup (they have options if you need to order to go). They have a variety of drinks on their menu and a few snack options. PARKING: There's plenty of free parking next to the building so I didn't have to struggle to find a spot like I usually do downtown. WIFI: The wifi isn't limited to a certain amount of time and has a clean, consistent connection. There are plenty of outlets you can move around to adjust to where you are sitting with your devices. The only reason I didn't give Cohesive a full five-star review really came down to personal preference and style: STERILE DECOR: The space is decorated with a modern minimalist vibe which makes for a very clean space, but it does come off a bit soulless. I came in here randomly. I ordered a gluten free cinnamon apple scone the moment I bit into it it had a really weird taste. They recommended their seasonal drink which was the sweet as potato. Let me say that it was not good when I tried it. I asked to make it sweeter but no sweetener was added. Also, some guy sitting at the counter was staring down one of my kids because he put a sticker back when another kid took it from the counter. Smh read more

Yikes! Ordered a coffee and asked if they had any vegan options for food. She pointed to a case and I got a scone. It was ice cold like it was straight from the fridge. On my way out I realized the case said "gluten free" but no mention of vegan. Not the same thing at all. However, what really sealed the deal was the gross hygiene situation I witnessed. As I was sitting working I happened to look up and see that one of the men behind the counter had his mask off while on his phone and was scratching at his face and chewing on a finger nail. Kind of gross but also we are human. However, a minute later he started making a drink and reached into a tub of marshmallows WITH HIS BARE UNWASHED HAND and grabbed some to put on the drink. A negligent attitude towards basic hygiene is a one and done for me. I will not be back. read more

The Sweet Potato Latte with toasted marshmallows (I Yam Legend) is really good! Nice to see something a little different than the usual Pumpkin offerings. Decided to try a new spot today. I had some things for work that I needed to accomplish and I was able to do so. They suggested their seasonals and I chose the pumpkin spice latte with oatmeal milk. It was to die for. Price was as expected and I was sure to tip- as we all should. They had password protected WiFi with great speeds as well, and numerous customers were using it. I was happy to have the chance to check out this place today! Tempted by free WiFi and a private parking lot, I came by to get some work done on my laptop. They have a modern/minimalist vibe with a good number of tables and seating, including a few outdoor tables. The main menu on the wall is simple, but they had some special coffees of the day and other specialty lattes on a clipboard where you order. The chai latte was extremely flavorful, but I enjoyed my plain drip coffee. The girl working the counter was really nice, and I'm happy they are showing up now on Yelp! read more

I stopped by here last week for an Americano black. It was not smooth or good. It tasted watered down, I know it was freshly made because I watched the guy make it. It is also more expensive than Starbucks. My other issue is that the gentleman making it was having a whole conversation with what I assume is a "regular." They were chatting about their dogs. That's cool but as a new customer it would have been nice to have his attention for a minute to order. I had to order while they continued to talk. I don't mind paying more than Starbucks but it has to be a good cup of coffee. read more

Sparsely decorated and open, this is a modern coffee shop in a new development with indoor and outdoor seating. They have some unique coffee and tea offerings and also have a small selection of pastries. My friend and I ordered as soon as we walked in, and my friend was given her plain coffee immediately as well as our two blueberry scones. I ordered a cold tea and was told it would be brought to me, which was about five minutes later (after others at the counter had been served). We had to ask for napkins. The tea was good but at a total of $17 for both of us, it seemed a bit steep. FYI - another location of White Duck Taco is going in next door, which will be great for additional food options. read more

I don't know what to say other than it was awful and expensive. I ordered a small hot latte to go and what I received was cold and tasted horrible. To my knowledge, a latte is a shot of espresso with steamed milk. The drink I was served was made with coffee that had been in a pitcher and then cold milk added. So when it comes to the coffee at this establishment, it's rather stellar. I love to get a nice cortado or a pour over at this establishment. The espresso is quite smooth, giving me better vibes than a lot of other coffee shops. I will say the staff is a very not present (most of the time on their phones, not paying attention, etc) and it can feel like I'm taking away their time when I come in. Not everyone is like this (you know who you are!) but a few of them are. So for good coffee, come on down! But for stellar service, find yourself elsewhere. read more
