I asked for All over color and carmal highlights (lightly) to frame my face. I had highlights before but they were too much. That is why I asked for all over color to start over again with a color that was close to my natural dark brown shade. What I came out with was a mullat style cut. She did low lights instead of highlights and then put toner on what was left of the highlights. and ended up with no highlights of any kind.. just dark brown hair and and a very very short bang with a very layered top of hair (that was not the style). She cut 8 inches off my hair! The style required maybe 4-5 inches. Great base hair color but terrible haircut and no highlights at all. I tried texting her to try to have her fix the layers of the mullut and add the highlights I paid for - she didn't accept responsibility. And after a couple of texts, she stopped texting all together. Avoid Ana for anything too difficult but for basic color and style, I think she is good. Anything that requires a little more a of a specialty, I think it would be best to go to someone who has been trained further.

There seem to be 2 guest stylist who were bringing in the most traffic, so I am not sure what this place is like when they are not there. It smells good in here, it is spacious and clean. I really have no complaints and think it's a great space. The woman I am assuming was the owner was very friendly! I can tell she takes pride in keeping her shop up, as she had a few people in there sweeping, cleaning mirrors and addressing the overall upkeep of the salon.

Since my schedule is sometimes a little less than predictable, I love it when I can find a place that I can show up without an appointment and still get in and out pretty quickly. Nowadays, that seems more and more difficult to find. For my natural 3b/3c hair, the ladies here know what they're doing. Whether I have the time for a roller set or just a quick blow out, I always leave with my hair looking great. Most importantly they're quick and from my experience, have never applied too much heat on my hair when straightening (which is really important to me!) For a wash and a blow out, I think I paid $45 (pre-tip) which I found rather standard around here. However the friendly personalities and the willingness to really listen to their client, is really what I think will win folks over. Additionally, they have a nice range of hours which is also great. I'll definitely continue to keep Evolution top of mind, whenever I need a quick blow out!
