I am not criticizing James' work.  I take issue with his "memory" and his word.  This senior citizen learned a valuable lesson and will be eating beans.

The family and I were on a road trip from WA through Oregon and visiting the Redwoods…read more My Durango's alternator went out near Gasquet (20+ miles from Brookings) and we had no cell coverage in that area. My roadside service picked up my truck (and was bringing it to Coast) but would not pick up my family. We were stranded, unable to user Uber, and no taxi services would go out to Gasquet. When Dan at Coast Auto Center found this out he sent Gary to drive out to pick us up and bring us to the shop. He arrived within 30 minutes and brought us to Brookings. They got us in a rental SUV at a very great rate ($30 a day) and got us back on our way very quickly. Our road trip to the redwoods was saved! The customer service was outstanding, but that is not all. They knew were kind of in a jam and that we needed the Durango fairly quickly. They could have over-charged us and there is not much we could have done about it, but they did not. The repair was done within 48 hours and the price was extremely good. We highly recommend Coast Auto Center, every person we interacted with was helpful and nice and our overall experience was great. Thanks Coast!

This shop has always represented the best of a down-home, family-run business: honest, reliable, and truly committed to taking care of their customers. Most recently, I brought in my 10-year-old F250, which has been struggling a bit after I added a cab-over slide-in camper. I needed airbags installed, and from the moment I walked in, Cody went above and beyond to help me out. He had an appointment available for Friday, but when I told him I had to leave town, he made my truck a priority--even though he didn't have to. I dropped it off the night before, and Cody kept me updated every step of the way. He called to confirm when the parts arrived, updated me about a complication with my gooseneck hitch, and let me know that my rear shocks were completely blown. Even though this added a lot of extra work, the team still finished everything the same day so I could safely hit the road. A huge shoutout to Todd, who did the heavy lifting and worked so hard to make it happen. The whole crew was friendly, professional, and just plain kind. The attendants at the service desk were extremely pleasant, they took my vehicle right in, performed the needed service and I was back up and running in short order. The whole experience was pleasant and the staff was friendly and professional. Today was my second experience with Coast Auto, as the Trax was due for an oil change. As oil changes are no longer something we can easily do in our own driveway, I called around for prices, including Valvoline in Brookings, as I had used Valvoline where I used to live. Coast Auto quoted me a "ballpark" price that was well below the other places that I had checked. We made an appointment for 2:30 in the afternoon and I arrived about 15 minutes early. The staff checked me in quickly and I took a seat in the lobby and enjoyed talking with other customers and some staff while I waited. The service department was done in less than 1/2 hour. When I went to pay and retrieve my keys, I learned that the final price was actually $7.00 BELOW the quoted ballpark price. WOW! All that pleasant and efficient service AND a price lower than I expected. What more can one ask of a local auto dealership!?! I highly recommend Coast Auto in Crescent City!
