Hands down the best service in town--and maybe anywhere! I've been taking my vehicles to the Les Schwab in Brookings, for as long as I can remember. This shop has always represented the best of a down-home, family-run business: honest, reliable, and truly committed to taking care of their customers. Most recently, I brought in my 10-year-old F250, which has been struggling a bit after I added a cab-over slide-in camper. I needed airbags installed, and from the moment I walked in, Cody went above and beyond to help me out. He had an appointment available for Friday, but when I told him I had to leave town, he made my truck a priority--even though he didn't have to. I dropped it off the night before, and Cody kept me updated every step of the way. He called to confirm when the parts arrived, updated me about a complication with my gooseneck hitch, and let me know that my rear shocks were completely blown. Even though this added a lot of extra work, the team still finished everything the same day so I could safely hit the road. A huge shoutout to Todd, who did the heavy lifting and worked so hard to make it happen. The whole crew was friendly, professional, and just plain kind. Last time I took My BMW in to have the tires rotated they broke the Lug nut lock removal tool . They Sade it was cheaply Made .. It was a part from BMW. Not a cheep part.. What they did not tell me is they broke the tool off in the lug nut. it can not be removed without taking it to a machine shop or BMW dealer.. This is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to ave fixed.... DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CAR THEY WILL BRAKE IT AND NOT TELL YOU. THEY ARE LIERS AND SHISTERS .. read more

Was traveling down the 101 to my home near L.A. in my 2013 Tundra and got a flat tire crossing the Calif. border speed bumps. Put my spare on and went back to Brookings and found this Les Schwab, it was 6 pm and they were closing and were very nice telling me to come back in the morning and they would take care of me. I arrived at 8am and they brought the truck in to the service area and told me that my tires needed replacing, not because of wear but due to there age. So I spent $759.00 on two tires, very expensive. Also included were 2 tire sensor rebuild kits, for $15.00. well we got just below San Francisco and tire sensor light came on, we stopped and checked tire pressure and it was ok. The light stayed on until I finally had enough (2157 miles) and took it to my local repair shop, they found the sensor was broken in two. Talked to a Les Schwab tech and he told me they replace all valve stems, they are not replaceable, or rebuildable, and most likly was broken when they mounted the new tire. So after being burned for the cost of tires,and a valve stem rebuild that could not have happened, then being told over the phone that I did't have a clue, well their 3 point what ever rating is definitly deserved. I would give them a low 2 for the deception. read more

I like Les Schwab, and have used them for years for numerous vehicles. They do great work and are very customer-oriented as long as you ask the right questions. When you ask how much something will cost (i.e. new tires, battery, brakes, etc.), specify that you want to know all the standard ancillary costs as well. It can be a real surprise if you don't do that, and then you receive your invoice and it's more than you thought. Not that the additional items aren't necessary, but just that you should know about them ahead of time. read more

New manager telling people they need things they do not so he can get a bigger bonus. Got a flat tire. Brookings Les Schwab told me my tire was unrepairable and gave me a quote for a new tire. Went to another Les Schwab and they repaired it with no issue. Would've cost me almost $200 for no reason other than the manager wants a slightly bigger bonus. read more

Lots of over promising and not very good at estimating time frames. When asked about their lies they immediately made up more excuses. The front counter lady is rude and seems lost in her job. Started off by complaining she didn't wake up on time to be at work by 8A.M.? An extreme mess. Unless the managers on on the front counter its all just a guess. Where is that "les schwab" hustle? My husband and I own a 24 ft motor home and had a slow leak in one of our tires. We were traveling on the coast and far from home. Stopped by and the salesman Jairone was so helpful and also worked on our tire. We only waited for a hour and the tire was fixed. Jairone said he found a small screw in our tire. Moved to Brookings 3 months ago. Took my car in for new tires. Clean showroom. I was shown 3 different options with 3 different prices. All pricing was fair. Same day service was excellent. So was the warranty. The personnel were exceptional....professional yet personable. Returned this week with my 1 ton truck for brakes. Arrived at 3 p.m. I was provided a written estimate. They kept the truck overnight, parked securely in a stall. They called me at noon the following day: "Your truck is ready sir". Total was just under the estimate. Again, very professional. The cashier was very friendly and knows the operation. She explained the guarantee....100% parts & labor for 25,000 miles. They know how to run a business, they know how to take care of their customers. read more

I'm am upset about the scratches on my rims..beautiful tires! One of my Lincoln hub caps is missing ...I witnessed 4 guys working on my vehicle...I wish I would have done an inspection b4 I left, but I had to get my Dad home. I just hope they make it right when I go back in the morning, I really like that place, how they are on point with the torque checks and double checking. There is a particular gentleman,(wish I remember his name). Anyhow he went out of his way to be sure to get my car out at the end and settle my account properly. This is a Lincoln guys you gotta be sure not to scratch up those rims..they are not cheep.! I will be writing another review tomorrow after my visit. I hope I can up those stars because a couple of the guys deserve 5 stars as far as im concerned! read more

Got new tires for the truck. They put the new tires on the back and the back tires on the front without re-spin balancing them. Went in about a month later because was tired putting up with the vibration. Said there was a back up and it would be about "an hour" (for a 15 minute job). OK, go next door for some fast food, surf the web. Go back in an hour no work done. Wait for another hour before admin says "there's only one customer in front of you it will only be another 20 minutes. 40 minutes later (2 hours 51 minutes after I came in) it's ready. Waste my money, that's one thing, That they did not do. Waste my time and not even say they're sorry for the wait. NOT GOING BACK period. read more

The customer service is great and the employees are professional. Plus if you buy tires from them you don't have to pay anything if you get a flat. LIARS!!!! took my car in to be balanced today and this was the result: Both "NICK" and "TOM" outright LIED and said: 1) they balanced the tires. There is NO WAY they could have balanced one of the tires because it wouldn't come off!!! 2) they tried using grease to take the tire off and then blamed it on the brakes!! (which are working fine, no leaks!) I have had better service at other Les Schwab locations, but there is NO excuse to LIE to your customers!!! Why wasn't I told the truth to begin with, that they simply couldn't get the tire off? What an insult to my intelligence!! Will never go to that location again, nor ever recommend them. I have done all of my tire business with les Schwab for my adult life I have been on vacation towing my rv I ended up with a cracked wheel so I ordered 4 new wheels and was informed it would be Friday before they could get the proper size wheels this was on Monday it's now Friday they took my wheels and tires off then tell me my wheels were shipped to Washington and theres no other tire wheel combination that will work but we have these other wheels for 1800 that will get you on the road and oh by the way you will have to buy 4 new tires to fit it read more

After being a happy Les Schwab customer for many years in other locations I was disappointed on how I was treated at the Brookings location. We were looking for 2 possibly 4 tires. We walked in was helped by a young man who stated he was new and complained about his mask being hot - as we proceeded talking we knew he knew nothing about warranty which he admitted. The other worker we were told had worked there 5 years was helping a man and guess he thought the whole thing was a joke which I didn't appreciate. A woman worker came in so new employee directed us to her. It was apparent she could have cared less about helping us. Fast and friendly service. I had tires that were less than a week old, one got a flat. I took it to the one in CC and they said it was unrepairable. My fault since I drove on it too long. I got the flat in a road work zone and had no where to pull over. They told me I had to buy 4 new tires (I have an all wheel drive Subaru) even though I talked to Subaru and they said since my tires were so new it would be fine to just buy one tire. After spending hours of my day with terrible service and news I didn't believe I toon my car to the Chetco Les Schwab and they said I had a easily repaired flat. Multiple people including myself have had awful experiences here. I wasn't going to write a review because I thought maybe I just had a bad experience but now I know this happens often. A few months ago a friend of mine took their car in and noticed one of the employees test driving the car (which is fine) BUT they were driving VERY recklessly. When I took my car in I was driving around with a friend and noticed my brand new car being rodded on!! I also noticed a scratch on my rim which was not there before they were brand new. When I called the manager to explain to them the situation they were nothing but rude and making excuses. After all of this had happened I talked to a friend of a friend who was an ex employee there. He had told me he witnessed other employees jumping trucks! Be careful when you take your car here. read more

Took my car in to have tires changed from snow to our year round set. Dropped car off at 8am, they said it'd be done in 30 minutes. Still not done after 90 minutes! The gal didn't even look at me when she said something about they do it as safely and as fast as they can. It took 45 minutes once it went in, so 30 minutes was totally off. No apologies at all & they gave me a bill for almost twice what they quoted!! Not acceptable. read more
