The did a wonderful job on my car. I had the detail package. They removed grease from my leather seats & carpet.

I needed to get my car seats shampooed so I went here to get it done. They suckered me into a detail package. The interior looked pretty good but they didn't get rid of things that were obviously trash. The outside wasn't too impressive either. I had to wipe some spots off myself. Pretty crazy. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I can not recommend you take your vehicles to get a wash or detail. If you do, you have a 50/50 chance that they will do decent job. I took my truck in to get detailed & I was not satisfied/happy with the job they did, for the money I paid. I don't need the aggravation of dealing with them again & again. Problem easy to solve... This place consistently has lower prices and is located on the ideal side of the street for my old drive home/commute from work. Every so often the card swipe breaks down on the outside, which is an inconvenience from time to time. It's still way more worth it than trying to make a left at the light and later take another left at a light to get back on the road for the 5 for a gas station with similar prices on the other side of the street. read more

I wish I had read all the bad reviews on Yelp before I went there. When I arrived I was happy to see that there was no line to get my car washed at noon on a Tuesday. I asked for the Diamond wash which includes an outside wash, an interior vacuum, a vinyl dressing on the interior and exterior (i.e. Armor-All the vinyl), and shine up the tires. Those were the main things I wanted done, so I was happy to spend the extra money to get it nice and shiny! The guy who helped me first tried to upsell me a wax right off the bat, but I wasn't interested, just wanted the Diamond wash. I went inside to pay and grab some lunch from the deli, which was decent enough for a gas station deli, but way overpriced! I could see them moving my car into position to go through the wash, but I had forgotten to remove my roof antenna (my bad), so I ran out to unscrew it from the roof, but the person who had started soaping up the car with brushes told me the machine wasn't working, so it wouldn't be in danger of getting ripped off. Ok.....? So, I had already paid at this point, and it appeared that I was just going to get a hand wash (with brushes), then the machine would rinse off and blow dry the car at the end. I was okay with that, but a little concerned with the large brushes these guys were being very brazen with on my car. I went to the other side (exit side) of the machine and saw my car pop out with no one inside. I waited for someone to jump in and pull it ahead, but it just sat there for a few minutes while some younger men (employees?) rode some bicycles around the car looking at it. What was going on??? Finally one of them got in the car, pulled it around to the "drying and detailing" area where a couple guys began to apparently dry it off and dressing the vinyl. Once I was told that it was ready to go, I walked over and could immediately tell that it was a bad job. My car is black, so it's very easy to see water marks, and my car was covered! So, I grabbed a towel from the stack of used towels they left on the hood of my car and started rubbing off the water marks myself. For 5 minutes I was cleaning all the spots they missed. Finally, someone came over and asked if I needed help? Really??? No, thanks, I'll just keep doing the job you were supposed to do! I finished cleaning the water marks off and I had to get back to work, so I got in my car and left. On my way back to work I noticed that they did not use the vinyl dressing on the driver side door. Also, there is a dent in the rear bumper that I had never noticed before... I'm not saying that they definitely did it, but it's a new dent to me, and with the way that these guys were being so careless about my car, I wouldn't be surprised if it was from them. My claim check says that the Diamond package is $26.99, but my receipt says it's $27.99. I was charged an extra $2 for having a 3 row SUV. My car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. That is a 2 Row SUV, NOT a 3 Row! To top it off, I gave these guys a tip, not a huge one, but they really deserved nothing! I can't believe I spent $30 on this so-called "car wash!" read more

Gas is .20cents less per gallon (the lower gas price on sign out front) only if you get car wash. First 2 pump stations I tried didn't work and cancelled transactions so had to move car twice. Came inside where it appears the cashier is on drugs has lots of grinding type of facial expressions while cashing me out. Not feeling like this place is run on the up and up at all. I never post these but wanted to make others are aware. I was told that my rims are damaged from a chemical that was used on them. I have NEVER put a chemical on my rims yet I did go to this station for car washes monthly for years. My car is a Honda Accord - be careful of using this car wash and their chemicals. I would say this location has the best customer service I have experienced from any car wash or station I have been to. I had a minor issue occur while having my car washed and the the owner, managers and employees all were incredibly supportive and helpful. My teenage daughter and her friend went in to get frozen yogurt yesterday while I was in the car, and the 2 workers behind the counters were on their cell phones the whole time. The girls felt like they were bothering the workers by ordering frozen yogurt. The yogurt was good, but that kind of service is unacceptable. read more

I bought an unlimited car washes for a month. When I went to have my car washed the marked the wash for an upsell without telling me and attempted to get me to pay more money. When I pointed out what they did they marked my unlimited car washs credits down for their unwanted upsell. Steer clear of these people. Dishonest!!!!! read more

I've been to this car wash several times before and have always been pleased with the exterior wash. This time, however, I asked them to include an interior clean and specifically asked for attention to be paid to my (dirty) inner console. The guy convinced me to upgrade to include a wax and assured me they would clear the interior thoroughly. Upon retrieval of my truck, the outside was shimmering but I soon discovered how lousy the interior looked. There was noticeable dirt and sand everywhere, and it looked as though they had barely used the vacuum. I could have done a much better job myself at home using Armor-All wipes. My recommendation: trust them for a good exterior wash but avoid any interior detail. read more

I've worked 100 yards from Encinitas Chevron for about 7 or 8 years now. Always loved the large variety and roomy interior of this gas station long before they thought about adding food. The car washes are great and one of the cheapest (yet good quality) in all of San Diego county. They have a nice selection of things like local candles and charms as well as an automotive section. I always bugged them to get food since it's a convenient location for a LOT of professional businesses in close vicinity. There was a Subway in the works for about 2 years that never materialized. Then all of a sudden about 2 years ago the deli sprouted up. Moonlight Beach Deli & Dogs has quickly become one of the best deli's in all of San Diego county! Most of my co-workers would say "gas station sandwiches?!? yuck!". Now I think all 40 or so employees in our office frequent the amazing food here! From dogs to gourmet sandwiches, amazing soups and a great salad bar, they have it all! They even have sports on the LCD here and their own TV station! They only serve the best cuts of everything and the open air atmosphere can't be beat! read more

They washed my car yesterday and it was a mess and a few things got missed but I had to go to a huge meeting. My fault for cutting it so short but these amazing guys rewashed my car today and got the few things they missed and they did not charge me for the second wash. They are professional and they have a committment to excellence. This is not my first time I have used them but they have alwasy done a good job. When I refer to a mess, 4 days at Surf Cup in RSF my son used my car and it was in the mud, dirt, water trucks going by all day to keep the dirt down, yeah when I mean mess - I mean it looked like it had rolled in the mud..... read more

SORRY TO INTERRUPT YOUR LUNCH. I stopped in today to get my car washed. The crew washing the cars here is fairly responsive to any requests, however, the personnel in the store have issues. I went to ring up my car wash and a snack. While in line I observed the cashier eating sour cream and onion potato chips, then ring the register, and hand the person ahead of me their change with a lovely taint of oil and onions-NICE. Then she grabs another handful of chips stuffs them in her mouth and proceeds to ring up my purchase with greasy sour cream & onion potato chip residue, AWESOME! I mention this gross incident to the "GM" and ask if he has EVER seen a cashier at Target or CVS stuff their mouth while ringing up a customer. He replied, " yeah I've said something to her about that but she keeps doing it", seriously? When I offered to call or send an email to the owner, the "GM", I was declined that information. Be prepared to wipe down your money, soda or snack at this store. I'll continue to get my car washed here. My other purchases will stop since, I dont keep handi wipes with me to wash down my cash & candy from the cashiers hands. Hey Chevron, that is nasty. If the GM cant convince the employee to put the chips down at the register and conduct themselves like they are at work and not the dinner table, perhaps the solution is.....a new GM. read more

I was a loyal customer, but after my recent experience I don't think I will be returning. There was zero customer service. In fact, I got attitude from the car wash attendant. Plus, it looks like the pricing went up by $1.00. (Which they indicated by just hand writing it on the claim check...seemed questionable). My biggest issue was the attitude and poor customer service. After I got home, I also noticed they didn't even bother to vacuum out the cargo area which was the main reason I took it by because there was sand in the back from the beach. I went back the next day to ask them to complete their job only to get a different attendant, but the same attitude. Too many other options out there. BTW this is my first bad review on Yelp, but I felt compelled to share in hopes they get the message. read more

Got a tank load of bad gas from one of their premium pumps. Reported it to them and they didn't do anything about ir.

Sad to say, I must advise people not to use this car wash. I didn't see prices for the normal washes when I drove up, only the detailing packages. The pushy attendant tries hard to up-sell you the $18.99 premium wash. When you ask him the prices of the cheaper washes, he rambles off a bunch of prices in a not intelligible way. I finally just asked for the cheapest "full" car wash - inside and out. Then, when they ring you up, they cross out the price that was circled on the paper slip they give you and charge you more. I told the cashier that this type of practice is very unethical. I also told him that I had seen reviews complaining about this practice on Yelp, and that I, too, was going to let people know not to use this car wash. He didn't care. He charged me what he rung up. (I've since read the owner's response to a prior similar complaint and defending the practice by saying they recently raised their prices after X number of years and are trying to save paper by using old price lists. I don't buy that excuse. That other review was 14 days ago. You mean to tell me in 2 weeks, you couldn't have revised those old paper price lists with a marker or Avery label?) A manager, or so I assume, came out several minutes later to give me the difference that they overcharged me in an attempt to make me happy. She didn't even apologize, just said they have a worker who sometimes forgets to change the price on the paper. I didn't accept the money. Sorry, I will forgo that money and make sure the public knows how this operation works. It is sad because I met one of the owners down at their food stand on Moonlight Beach several months back and he seemed to be a decent guy. Does he know this is going on?? I'm a small business owner myself, I would be incensed if this was happening at my shop! Until they boldly post their car wash prices for everyone to see and they stop with this sleezy practice, I will not come here again....not for gas and not for car washes. Sale made....customer lost.
