Had to get gas before getting on the freeway and heading for home. Terrible Herbst was close so we stopped. Fuel is $2.75 for regular which is at the high end. Fuel is normally much cheaper in Las Vegas than in California (but the smog over the city when we drove in may be a result). Costco fuel is $2.39 but we wouldn't wait in the line to leave town. You enter and it looks like any other convenience store with the checkout at the front but this store has nice looking (but I'm sure fake) stone arches. Hubs got the gas and I went in to check out the C-store. They have a large variety of goodies-coffee, donuts, soft drinks, hot dogs, sausage and breakfast sausages with buns and the toppings of chili or cheese and, of course, the usual candy and chips, pretzels and seeds. I recommend Terrible's. It makes a nice stop even if you just go in to walk around and look like I did. read more

Terrible Herbst gives free car washes whenever you come in and get your oil changed..which was a bit pricey on my end. So I come back a few days after the oil change so I can get my free car wash. When I pulled up to the car wash thing, there was nobody there. When somebody finally came up, I told them I was here for a free car wash. The person I was talking to barely spoke English and he didn't understand what I was telling him. Another person came out and directed me to where I was supposed to go. So my car gets washed and dried as usual, but about fifteen minutes later, it's still sitting there with no one around. The guy who washed it didn't bother to tell me it was ready! And it was hardly busy as well...I was the only one there plus about two other people. Never again I will get my car washed here. The one extra star was because it was free. read more

Just visited the location and it was a horrible experience. Only 1 out of 4 of their car washes were working, the coin changer was out of order and the inside and outside of location is ugly, trashy and rundown. Location rarely has soap in their car wash as well. Come on Terribles!!! I definitely will go out of my way to get gas, car wash and food than go here any more!!! read more

Horrible service, been going there for years and have never had an issue. They must be under new management because they have gone so far downhill it is unreal. They really put the TERRIBLE in terrible herbst, every time I go to wash my truck I get pestered by panhandlers. Saying they ran out of gas , the same gal pestered me 3 times. I told the hobbit inside to do something about it and she just rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. They don't maintain the car wash bays so , be on the lookout for mud,cement and other debris before you approach with your car. Once you exit the bay you will come across a pack of hobo's. This completes the shadyness of the area. I wouldn't go to this area at night, especially if you have a flashy vehicle. The Hobos and other miscreants eyeball you, so unless this place did a complete overhaul I would recommend going somewhere else for your gas and car wash needs. read more

Normally when I stay on the strip I fill up at a different Chevron. This time I stayed in the arts district and remembered this location from Vegas trips years ago. It is still hard to get in to headed West and looking well worn including several out of service pumps. But the coffee was fresh and the counter help was friendly. read more

I have come to this gas station for many years. For gas, car washes, store items, etc. I will NEVER come here again. The quarter machine for the car wash was not accepting money and the cashier refused to sell me a roll of quarters from the safe insisting on she only had $1 worth of quarters for her whole shift. This makes no sense I said to her. What will you do when all 4 quarters are gone? What gas station doesn't have a supply of change? The lady was very rude and made no sense as she never does. I will NOT wash my cars here. I will NOT purchase gas here. I will NOT gamble here. Learn some customer service skills please. read more

Las Vegans pass by Terrible Herbst locations every day. But have you ever really taken a look at their stores? From the circa 1980's style lettering on the outside to dull, dingy, boring, cramped, and sometimes downright dirty stores on the inside I wonder how on earth they stay in business? Actually I think they've got it figured it out. They put 2 on each corner along busier streets like a bottom feeder net to try and scoop up any traffic they can get. This location has a twin on the North side of Sunset as proof of concept. Terribles is one of the worst C-stores I've ever stepped foot in and this location in particular is a dump. To get to the gas pumps you get to run the gauntlet of cars leaving Wendys, the car wash, or especially WalMart who cut through the gas pumps like NASCAR cup racers going for the championship. If you do get to a pump the pumps themselves are dirty. The button pads to punch in your credit / debit card info are torn or missing. But while pumping gas you can occasionally get some free entertainment thanks to the Henderson PD busting speeders and illegal U-Turns from the parking lot. If you go inside the staff is always nice, but the place is cramped, stacked, and packed so that you get that nice canned sardine feeling. I flat refuse to get a fountain drink here, the self serve options just creep me out. And the bathroom? Ugh, I think I'll skip that part. If you just have to stop for gas, or get something to drink it's barely tolerable. But if there's ever a poster child for why Terrible Herbst should invest in some upgrades and maybe some cleaning supplies, this location is it. 2 Stars and that's only because the employees provide good service. read more

Last week I paid to get a car wash. The car wash was broken & a car was already there waiting with the driver finding out what was wrong. I decided to leave and come back when I would be in the area again. I eventually returned & went inside to ask about getting a new code to get my car washed since it was broken last time. The clerk didn't say anything for a while and was rolling her eyes. I asked her why she had an attitude instead of providing me with customer service. She then proceeded to argue with me saying, "you're the one with an attitude and told me that I would need to deal with her manager as a result." I plan to and already filed a complaint with Chevron, which will be crediting my card. That person should be fired and this place deserves zero stars. read more

Needed a carwash for a rental car that got extra dusty in the desert. Lots of choices, in terms of which wash "package" to get. Attendant helpful in honestly advising the cheapest one and helping get me situated, since I'd never done a carwash where you stay in the car. It was actually really fun. After moving from a location where it rains a lot it felt like home being in my car with water pouring down on it for 5 minutes :) The carwash was quick and pretty good--I'd say a solid B which was absolutely great for the money. my review is based on the drive in wash.. completely wasted $7.. the passenger side of my car wasn't touched at all.! then i went to vacuum my car afterwards I put $1 in for the scent only to find out there was no scent sprayer.! completely jipped me.. never will i return. read more

Well on 5/29/14 I took my car in to get a wash and oil change. As they did a good job on interior part of my car etc my E-Cig ($80) battery was stolen out of my car from there. It is a lesson learned from me as you can't trust having your important stuff in your car while you wait. I know nothing will happen from this but as I work in auto industry (sell online diagnostic resourse) I will make sure this company has to pay highest prices for are software and will never return unless I need gas real bad and I am driving by. If I catch one of the employees at rush hour etc I feel bad for them. O my e-cig is missing well then how did that black eye get there;) Anyway screw them. read more
