Disappointing and Unprofessional Customer Interaction…read more I stopped at this Roberts gas station to purchase a soda and a snack--something I've done many times before, as I am a regular customer. Unfortunately, this visit was a very negative experience due to the behavior of the cashier. When I approached the counter, I greeted the cashier, but received no response. As I was paying with my card, she began giving rapid, commanding instructions while I was already in the process of using the terminal. This became confusing rather than helpful. I calmly told her, "I'm sorry, I can do this--you're just confusing me." After that, the interaction noticeably changed. The cashier became silent and visibly upset. When the payment terminal had issues and needed to be reset--a situation outside of my control--she appeared to blame me and became increasingly irritated. Once the transaction was completed, I asked politely, "Did I do something wrong?" Her response was completely unacceptable. She told me that I was rude, said she "didn't need this," and then told me to "get out." I want to be very clear: I did not raise my voice, insult her, or behave disrespectfully. I am an older customer, and the confusion came from being spoken to abruptly while already following the payment process. That does not justify being spoken to harshly or being told to leave the store. What was especially disappointing is that I frequent this location. The only difference this day was my appearance--I was unshaven and dressed casually. Whether that played a role or not, no customer should ever be treated this way. I expect better professionalism, courtesy, and respect from a business I regularly support.

But I've been to this station twice in the past week during their posted business hours and there was no one there. Sign said ring bell for assistance but there is no bell. Other sign said to knock on the office door behind the booth but no one answered. If staff didn't show up to run the station the owner should be responsible for posting a sign or running the station himself. I will try a 3rd time in a few days but if there is still no one there I will have to find another station and put up with walking in a store & standing in line. I paid $45 for gas at the self-checkout, but when I went to pump, no gas came out. Naturally, I was upset. Joel, who was the only employee present, told me to cancel the transaction and assured me the money would be refunded to my account. I waited, but the refund never appeared. When I followed up with him, he responded with an attitude and said, "Well, it isn't instantaneous." I then asked if he could apply the payment to a different pump, but he claimed he couldn't. After waiting a bit longer, I called and asked to speak to a manager--he said he was the manager. I told him, "I need gas. I already paid. What am I supposed to do?" and shockingly, he replied, "Do you not have any money left?" His customer service was terrible, and his attitude was completely unprofessional. So, they card everyone now, clearly demonstrating that the have no judgment skills whatsoever. Carding gray haired wrinkled people, who have obviously been eligible for decades to buy a product, demonstrates a power trip and a lack of skill. It also demonstrates that they really don't want to sell you a product. There needs to be common sense in the application of safeguards. Really, every time with the same two old ladies? Is their judgment skill really that far off? I look young, but nowhere near underage. I'm 59, its hard to hide. By decades. They see me every day and know damn well I'm of age. They need to lighten up. You really should hire people that have some judgement skills. The men don't card after they see you a few times. They are demonstrating memory and judgment skills, as well providing me a guest experience that is pleasant and fast. If two "elder" cashiers are working, I make sure to avoid them if possible. Even if my id is in hand.
